Chanda suraj lakho thaare from his album Vande Mataram.

It has the same music from his National award winning film "Karuthamma" , it is the song sung by the pakistani singer i guess (not sure of his name)

Thanks for the info. In fact I heard the tamil version long ago sung by Swarnalatha and Unni menon and was intrigued by the hindi version. The pakistani singer is Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

There is some thing very exquisite and divine about AR Rahman. He is unbelievably simple and humble. But when he slowly opens up you see and hear the deep thoughts and strong feelings and opinions. He may be a man of few words, but I believe he sees things better than most people. He believes wonderful melodies come to him as a gift of God! Very interesting person. God bless him.

rahman is great but anuradha sengupta was excellent with her questions. It shows that an interviewer can make an interesting intv.
