I own a beautiful maple kit that I put together from different company's and what not ( thin keller shells and such) with a great cymbal setup, everything about it is extremely expressive and unique. I just dropped 3 grand on a TD 12 and it is nothing compared to my acoustic kit. It just takes all of the soul, finesse, and precision out of your playing. It is hardly sensitive enough and it butchers your chops, not to mention how shitty the snare is and how fucked the kick is.
