@genestealerhybrid Actually they did. By 1944 Nazi-Germany did use Commissars or Leadership Officers (Führungs Offizieren) to stop the disintegration of their armed forces. These individuals where instructed to ensure that the soldiers fought to the bitter end and they could use whatever means neccesary including summary executions.

I study the ww2 history,but i have never heard anything about commissars inside in any part of the Wehrmacht .I know about Military Police soldiers and some parts of the Gestapo and the SS used to execute cowards

The IG Commissars are actually modelled after the Nazi-German polical officers called Kommissars. Their task where to spread 'motivation' amongst the faltering German Armies during the later parts of the 2nd WW. If threats where not enough the where given the right to summarily execute soldiers who faltered in the line of duty or showed signs of cowardice.

The Imperium is a model of human history and is loosly based on the midieval Holy Roman Empire who where ruled by a Emperor.

The Imperium is Communist. It's also fascist, racist, quasi-Nazi, and basically every "bad" political philosophy in the world. And it's kinda oligarchic, but then again, the Emperor is the nominal ruler, so it's more of an oligarchical dictatorial monarchy. If that makes sense.

I dont think the Imperium is actually communist, but their methods of staying in power and enforcing discipline are clearly inspired by the soviet union (commissars!).

The system of military governors is sort of roman-like, the inquisition doesnt have to be explained and the extreme racism and obesession with "genetic purity" is very nazilike.

No, they took the most oppressive ideas from every regime in the world: the Spanish Inquisition became our dearly beloved Ordos, the Soviet political Commissars became, surprise surprise, the Commissars. But it kinda is communist, in a way. After all, look at the agri-worlds. How many of the workers, especially twists, get paid for what they make? It's just taken away from them and redistributed to the Imperial Guard! If that's not Communism, then what is?

They did not need to go to every regime in the world. The source of all this style and ideas is solely good old Europe. And both german Nazism and "russian" Communism are European made nightmares. Yes-yes, communism too, from Karl Marx being bona fide European philosopher to communist leaders in Russia being direct agents of France, Britain, Germany and US. So it all fits like parts of puzzle. Also, those agri-worlds are typical for bona fide European serfdom, as was Soviet "kolkhoz".

If you read the books, a genestealer can almost kill a space marine. It was a tactical squad aginst half a dozen genestealers and one of the space marines died, 3 more were badly wounded. Genestealers are taller then humans.
