  • And also, do you have to use a Belgium wffle maker, or would i be able to use a regular waffle maker.

  • @TeeRaquel Someone asked this before and we don't know. We have not tried a regular waffle maker with this recipe, but I see no reason why it would not work ok. Its just that the "Belgian" waffle makers have deeper pockets and make a better waffle in my opinion anyway.

Please try making these in your regular waffle maker and let us know how they came out.

  • Thank you for this recipe!! I was wondering, if you dont use all of the dough mixture. would it be safe to use for the next day?

  • @TeeRaquel Sure would, you could even use it as the starter for a new batch. Not sure how long it will keep in the frig though, but a few days should be no problem.

  • i saw that recipe too....and as for the eggs..beat it first before adding it to the flour mixture..that should blend in well..jus a thought..

  • @vsalle25 Good tip! Thank you!

  • i just tried this recipe, replace pearl sugar with normal sugar

    they taste awesome too! thanks!

  • @timichang Thank you for trying them and letting us know you liked them.

I think it's the mixing of the sugar in late so that it doesn't mix in as much that gives the crunch to the outside. Someone suggested adding a little more sugar just as you put the dough into the iron. We may try that next time.

    Thanks for commenting

  • These are rumored to be the best waffles on the face of the earth!

  • @strvela We haven't found any better! Have you tried them yet? 8^)

  • Noooooooooooo ....thats ot the way ... lol

  • @pascalefred Did you try them yet? SooooGooood! Was just talking to my special lady that it's time to make another batch. If you have a different recipe please send it by PM and I'll add it to the video dialog.

    Thanks!

  • @cckeiserINFJ Have I tried them ?, I am from Belgium ... so what do you think ?First of all you do not use the exact sugar you need to make the real thing(you really need the original pearlsugar,if it would be that easy all Belgians who went abroad setting up liege waffle busnisses would'nt have to import the real sugar from Belgium, this sugar is not melting so fast under high temperatures and leaves a slight crunch when baked of.

  • @pascalefred I meant did you try this recipe, the one we have here? Yeah, I know about the "real" pearl sugar...did you see how much it co$ts!? Too Much!

Please try this recipe then let us know what you think...ok?

  • @cckeiserINFJ Secondly you need to measure (weigh them)your amount of ingreediants(not cups, teaspoons etc) that is a golden rule in any dessert making ,and thirth your butter should not be melted but battered till it is softened and you should ad it at the end together with the sugar(afther you mixed all the other ingr together) .Maybe ad some cinamonpowder(depends on peronal taste) thats how they originaly are made. But hey if your version is tasty who am I to critisize right ? ;))

  • @pascalefred Can you Please send me your recipe? I would Love to try it...I may even buy the real pearl sugar!! 8)

But try these please and yet us know how they compare.

  • @cckeiserINFJ I did some schooling for that, so my recipe stay's with me ! Good luck ... ;)

  • @pascalefred Yeah....right. So I guess we will never know which recipe is better.

But thanks for your comments anyway. And don't forget to vote thumbs up! 8)

  • Finally got to the store to buy some Belgian Pearl Sugar going to make these tonight, wanted to make these since I seen Bobby Flay make them. Yay!

  • @mrbwdjr01 I know you are going to love them! Please let us know what you think! Did this video help with your prep?

  • @cckeiserINFJ absolutely, it's always a plus for me to have a visual guide to go along with any recipe. thanks

  • Thanks for posting this! There is nothing like it. I will make this! Thanks for sharing!

  • @iimagemakeup You are welcome. Enjoy!!

  • looks pretty good, although the true Liege waffle is eaten plain, no toppings. Toppings are generally for Bruxelles waffles. Also, last time I was in Liege they started adding cinnamon to the basic recipe, it makes it really really good, you should try it.

  • @lorenzschuerch Cinnamon!! Now there's an idea! Yeah, will definitely have to add a pinch to the next batch.

But shit dude...who cares how other's eat them. We usually just coat with powdered sugar, but I had one with a very good vanilla ice cream the other night. It was Awesome!

  • @SlatebowlAllStars what you can do too is put big sugar grains in them so you get that crunchy sugary feeling in your mouth its amazing

  • @lorenzschuerch thats the true liege waffle

  • YUM! Guess I need to ask for a waffle maker for Mother's Day so I can make these for myself. Thanks for the directions! Great music, too, by the way.....

  • @gryphonshire The Waffle Iron in the video we picked up for $10. We had a regular waffle iron but for Belgian Waffles you have to have the deep holes to get the full effect. Now we are thinking in investing in a more professional Belgian Waffle Iron sine it looks as if we are not going to stop making these delightfully nasty treats any time soon! We have been making a batch every two to three weeks since Feb. I can thank this recipe for my last 5 pounds! :^)
