Does a very ggod job on a song by a singer who will forever be in our hearts and minds. Ricky, your music will live on forever and people like this will help us remember him.
It is a great tribute to the great Rick Nelson To have John Fogerty Of CCR fame to sing a Rick Nelson song and did a wonderfull job, both men have class,It is so sad that Rick is not with us may he rest in peace and God bless him.
This was the song Rick Nelson wrote after being booed off Stage at Madison Square Gardens when he stupidly opened for the Rolling Stones back in July 1972.
not true..but close. He was playing a 50s rock'n'roll reuninion with Chuck Berry, Bo Didlley, Yoko Ono, John lennon, George Harrison.. (makes sense if you understand the pointers in the lyrics)
People expected Rick to look as he did when he was ricky, ducktailed and so on on..But he came in country and western attire and long hair and got booed when playing his newer country and western.
John Fogerty did a cover of the Gene Pitney song 'Hello Mary Lou' when he was in CCR. Ricky Nelson is famous for recording that song in 1961 and putting it on the map. Although Ricky Nelson did not officially write the song, John probably recorded it as a tribute to both Pitney and Nelson.
That's just beautiful! Everything John touches turns to gold. I'm a huge lifetime fan of this under-rated(well maybe not underrated so much anymore) rock legend. He's an American version of the Beatles in my eyes, a superb songwriter and interpreter of americana and country blues roots.
Just sing......PLEASE

I believe when Rick Nelson was inducted into the Rock n Roll HoF it was Fogerty who made the speech that inducted him.

Rick has the smoothest voice ever and good looks that no one has except perhaps Elvis .To me they are both the number one.

Intriguing, Rick Nelson and Fogerty both do the tune, but it has totally different meanings to Rick and John...great tune

George Harrisons alias or disguise when travelling was mr. Hughes, and at the time he was planning an album based on Bob Dylans songs.
