  • Next time do it without the whip.

  • My teacher had me try this because I was using the reins too much, and I was better at turning the horse than usual! Odd, isn't it?

  • and helmetless unfortunately :/

  • awesome, i want a carrot stick :(

  • awesomee

  • Beautiful! Love it........ Parelli has helped me accomplish so much and from what I can see you too!!! :)

  • heeey :) could you please tell me how you taught your horse to do this??? im really tryna learn so i can teach my horse, can you please tell me how you did it :D thanks!

  • @Sewah1223 - Just follow the Parelli Programme - it'll be easy when you get to it.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ninieperlt ahh parelli program??? i no what parelli is but dont no how to teach it or what the programme is

  • I see your level 1 string, but i'm thing, why is there no level 3 string! ?? hmmmmmmmm! me thinks you should DEFO go for it! Beautiful realtionship!

  • my pony used to do this wanted do it with me horse but hes an ex racer just dont trust him enough aha but my pony did english dressage and western barrelling and reining like this xx good partnership xx

  • your mental but your horse is so good and your a SEROULSLY good rider

  • beautiful horse =]

  • Why do you hold a whip?

  • what a badman. riding with no hat or body protecter.

  • hi, are you holding to carrot stick for the sake of it , or dose it control your horse by tilting it or something, just curious to know :/

  • @HorsesRmyDRUGS

She moves it a bit to get the horse to turn.

  • thats AMAZING

  • that horse is BEAUTIFUL! :)

  • wow! how do u do that!?

  • I've noticed that all Parelli followers have the "stick and string" while riding this way or doing anything with their horse (besides lunging). This is not a bad thing, it's just the way you have known to do it. But in my point of view I like to ask the question...what is the stick for and why do you use it? The other main quesition is...do you really need to use it? I can do that and more with my horse without that stick...you should give it a try and lose the stick lol

  • check out "bareback and bridleless in an open field, no neck rope"

  • Is this on your farm!??

  • @horsegirl1097

No, it's at a place I boarded at the time.

  • amazin im workin towards that with my horse

  • i could probably ride bridless just not be able to stop. lol

  • Great riding and Amazing horse but i would advise a helmet, a couple of weeks ago i was cantering my mare just like that (bareback and bridle less) and she tripped and slid on her knees and i fell off and landed on m head thank god i was wearing a helmet because if i wasn't it might have been a lot worse.

  • @RiderChick96 haha, last week i was riding bareback, bridleless, and helmetless, I'm just glad when I fell off it WASN'T on my head!

  • You should be wearing a helmet.

  • I'm jalous..

  • do you mainly controll with legs for direction and voice for speed?

  • @mirokupurple Knowing parelli somewhat, I guess I can answer. It's mainly your legs and your core that give the horse motivation to move. You can use your voice but don't depend on them. And in this case the carrot stick is indicating to the horse the direction. He is moving away from the pressure.

  • @mirokupurple no, you use all the natural aids when you ride like this, your voice, legs, and seat mostly. You use them to tell your horse what to do and it responds much more easily than it does when yoour riding witha saddle for obvious reasons

  • cantering straight down the fenceline! that's more than some people can do with a bit and saddle. good work, keep it up!

  • amazing! great work =]

  • i love how ur horse changes its lead like right away X)

  • NO - just a safety comment - no time to comment further - out doing Tellington Training and Clicker work with my 3 horses, 3 dogs, and 2 cats! I am just very surprised at how many "training videos" I see on facebook with no helmets.

  • @magsfarmstudios so you needed to throw in how many animals you were clicker training or doing TT with so we would be impressed with your wisdom or criticism? you could have said something like... I think you have done a beautiful job with your horse! I would like to see you wear a helmet because I think you are a role model for other young trainers! Kudos. But no, you had to talk about yourself first....

  • thats wonderful!! keep going with the parelli system!!!! you'll go far :) :D

  • wow, lovely :)

  • No helmet......tsk tsk!

  • @magsfarmstudios for goodness sake! is that all you can see of this amazing horse and rider?

  • bareback bridleless riding has got to be the coolest thing ever :)

  • Cute horse and great riding! What breed's your horse? How tall? Beautiful, simply beautiful!

  • im trying to teach my horse this, is it hard to teach him without parelli?

  • @ilovejet123 yes!!!! but you build up to that. i promise parelli will help anyones bond with their horse :)

  • Wow!

    That was awesoem:)

  • Hey Missy! Of course I remember you! Missy the Mountie! How are you?

We're doing just fine, playing around.

  • Nini...Looking awesome, This is MIssy, dont know if you remember me, we were in Colorado together at the Parelli center...So glad to see you are doing well!!!

  • a-m-a-z-i-n-g x

  • kool

  • ino this is really anoying bt thts not really horse manageman ship its riding u horse barebck with a massivewhip telling her wer to go i ride my horse with absulutly nothing i just use leg aids to tell her wer to go and voice commands.

  • Don't you feel special. I ride my 38 year old gelding bareback and bridless all the time, we run. So what? Grow up. She did fine

  • of cource i feel special it makes u feeel part of the horse but shees got a massive lunge whip telling the horse where to go horsemanagment is supposed to be natural and a whip is not natural!!

  • yeah.. really good!:D and invite to watch my films!:)

  • ... Where's Your Hat ?

  • do you use Parelli??

  • you have an amazing seat =) you look like me..but i use a helmate haha my horse prefurse bareback rather that english or western..

  • omg i can ride bareback but i dnt trust mi horse enough 2 do bridleless

  • @alicorenee me either... lol that and I'm scared to death of heights.... and I got a 17 hh TB mare =/

  • @charlie2272005 lol mi horse is only 15.2 i think. shes a quarter horse mare =)

  • can i use this video in a horse video?

  • lol thats awesome. If me and my horse did that, it would not be too pretty 0_0

  • @bleedingbumblebee oh get over yourself and think about what shes doing! i dont think she asked for stupid critique!

  • i did a jumping course on my horse bridelless and bare bak and all i had was a rop around her neck

  • i ride with nothing just a little crop so i can tap him on the shoulder to slow him down. lol hes so cute u must have a lot of trust with your horse

  • wow i envy you haha!!

  • Wow, amazing riding. That's got to be one tight bond you have with your horse! He's so pretty!

  • what exactally is on his neck? I'm not asking conerningly, but our farm uses something very similar to that called a neck strap. It goes around their neck to sort of help the kids to be able to keep their hands down on the neck. I didn't know why that was there.

  • its so if u feel unbalanced u can hold onto it

  • @ilovehorses2255 It's actually for steering :]

  • @BridlePathProduction

well i don't use it for that... most ppl i know use it for balance but i suppose every1 is different...

now u come to mention it that does sound like a good idea :p

is spent ages learning how to steer with my legs and with the mane when i could have just done that ....! lol

  • If the horse bolts you can hold onto that instead of getting flinged off

  • Awsome riding!

  • very cool

  • i love you!!! :D :D

  • I Have been riding sinse I was 5 am now 32.

When I was yonger I would ride bareback all the time. In winter it helps keep you warm lol.

I have never tryed with now rains though.

When I started out this sort of riding was never heard of.

Its amazing how our understanding of horses has come on in the last 20yrs.

  • how would you stay on that horse that long cantering that would be so hard

  • no its not hard at all, you just need to have balance and good leg grip. also its easier when ur on a comfortable horse

  • Not much easier murphy has the bounciest canter ever and hes veyyy comfy :)

  • Your have tio be a good rider to do this ! :O :D

  • Kreuzgalopp :/

    Ansonsten supi

  • i ride my horse all the time bareback and i just hold on to his mane. i give him a little leg and he will turn for me.

  • my horse was badly abused so I have never used a bit on him since I've owned him. We use a hackamore and it works just fine. I've used some of parelli's training methods with my horse Chief but I usually prefer riding him with a saddle just because he is very high strung

  • how come no one actually rides without aids?like they call it bridleless but in reality your still using tools to steer the horse either using whips, ropes around the horses neck.Learn to use your eye leg and seat and you can go brideless without whips and ropes.know do I know well my jumper goes bridleless from those cues. The same ones we use in the show ring.not trying to be an ass or anything.

  • Awesome stuff!

  • wow, ur such a good rider!!!

    that is amazing, beautiful horse!!

  • Did you notice how the rider kept on changing the position of the whip? When she kept it right above the horse's head, they were going straight. When she wanted to turn, she put it on the opposite side of where she wanted to turn.

    That was beautiful...

  • what does the whip do???? and If your not using the loop on the horses neck then why is it on there?

  • i think the loop is to hold on to

  • so that if she losses balace she dosent fall off cause she can get that?

  • what does the whip do- does it help steer him?

  • just a quick question do you do parelli?

  • Yes.

  • Arabian?

  • I love the horse's colouring. =)

  • Good job! My horse is good bridleless too but Im afraid his temptation to stop and eat would create some issues...great job!!!

  • that is the same problem i have with my mare LOL!

  • wow you make it look like its nothing =]

  • OMG i wish i had a horse and a good place to ride like that

  • Comment removed

  • sorry i dont quite understand this comment

  • I just did this a couple of days ago, wow it's amazing. Very very much fun.

  • this was cute! i like the music you chose for your vid. isnt riding bareback amazing. its a good time

  • Sigh... I miss my horses so much! I have wonderful memories of riding my Arab mare bareback in the field. Never got the chance to go with no tack at all, but I could ride her bareback in her halter. So natural and a bonding experience. I loved it! :)

I would love to be able to get into training at liberty. Perhaps someday, if I have a horse again.

  • ooo that looks fun!

    amazing job training the horse...

  • Nice (: I love just going out bareback on trails or even just in the arena :) I have also been doing some jumping bareback since im a hunter... but i <3 to canter bareback!

  • no one asked about you. Do you comment on other people's videos so you can tell everyone about yourself and not even talk about their video?

  • uhhh excuse me?? Like are u just being rude cause you are jealous or something? It had to do with the video. This person is riding bareback and i was saying what i did when i rode bareback.... wow

  • I never used the stick or the neck rope(I don do parelli) I just worked with her in the arenas Ive nearly got her cooperating and listen to me but the other say my brother was chasing me and I kicked her trying to get her to turn around cause he had us cornered but instead she decided to jump the 3'6" wire gate and took it down(shes 22 and never jumped over 3' in her life) and started galloping around the pasture like shes done on several occasions I finally got her stopped though

  • I love riding bareback, but i haven't gotten my horse to cooperate without a bridle. But my saddles last the longest at the barn because i do basically everything bareback. It's funny. Anyone know how to make a horse cooperate without a bridle when bareback?

  • It would be so easy if they would respond to mane pressure. D:

  • Wow thats amazing, You and your horse must have a really close connection. Are you into natural horsemanship?. I am really into it, I think its the most kindest way to treat a horse...its how they all should be treated. xxxxx

  • i love riding bareback! i love feeling like im conected to the horses every move. but i must say..... haha im not to good at it. i wish i could ride bareback AND bridleless like that but how do you really control the horse with no bridle? and whats that stick used for??

  • The stick is a riding aid to assist in place of a bridle. As the horse progresses in training, it will no longer require the stick or the neck rope

  • The stick gives indications to the horse to help it understand what the rider wants it to do... And you control the horse with your seat, legs and shifting of weight.

    Greetzz PS: great video!! 5*

  • i love riding barteback!!!.. i really love running bareback!!...i thnk tht it is easy wit no bridle...u just hv to learn to use ur legs to stear her..n ur butt to make her slow down or stop..tht sounds bad but thts wat u have to do !!

  • Too cool!

  • This is amazing, you two make the perfect pair! How are you supposed to control a horse with no bridle though? Seems like it'd be difficult! I loved your video![:

  • i ride bareback no bridle, i reckon cantering with no saddle is easier than in a saddle! btw, amazing horse ;]

  • It is not a lunging whip, it is a carrot stick from Parelli, which is one of the most natural ways of training a horse . The horse is never hit with it , it is used as an extension of your arm to change direction

  • I think it looks great and seems like fun to do! Just like when I am doing it ha ha ha ( I wish)

  • y are u carring a lunging wip u shouden't do

  • isn't it fun?

  • how do u get him to stop? i only walk when i ride bareback cuz i tried trotting while riding bareback before and i fell off!

  • Practice, practice, practice....once you get it, you'll love it. Soon you'll be cantering in circles bareback and no bridle :)

  • wow! this is great! ive been riding for a while bareback! i find bareback so much more fun then saddle

  • I agree...bareback is alot more fun than a saddle. <3

  • Yes I love bareback! I've been riding bareback for like 4 years and i can ride with obviously no saddle and a rope halter! Its soo fun I expecially love trotting and cantering bareback! I've also jumped and reared bareback! Its so fun

  • wow no bridle you two love great together... bareback riding is so awesome :)

  • Great Job!!!! Amazing Bond!!!

  • i like natural horsemanship (:

  • o get over it people ITS NOT A WHIP!!! hellloooo its a carrot stick. god learn ur stuff lol.

  • do you have any idea how dumb you sound when you say its a carrot stick and somebody doesn't have a clue about Parelli training? to most people, a carrot stick is an orange vegetable that's 3 inches long. to parelli people, it's different. try to keep this in mind next time, haha.

  • o.o

  • THis was GREAT! Great job rider!

  • Aha! So that's how it's done! A whip cue to step away to reinforce the rider's leg when the horse doesn't initially obey the cue to bend/turn. No different than longeing. So brilliant, and yet so simple. Suddenly I'm quite certain that my horse can learn this too! Rock on!

  • wtf...beautiful bay more like it!!

  • whenu ride bareback people u use your legs and nothing else when u ride a horse and u can steer him with your legs and have full control of him then thats when u know your horse is broke....there is 5 things on horse u need to hvae control of is his head, neck, shoulder, rib cage, and hip

  • It's not that hard to do . I can do that with my horse .

    But Good Job !!

    Your horse is beautiful !

  • Wow is it hard to stop :L x

  • ace, i luv riding lykk that

wud b better with a helmet

but im gessin its a horse u can trust lol

  • I would guess the whip is used as an aid to steer him, not used on him. Pat Parelli uses a coiled rope, and can steer the horse by moving the whip/rope to either side of the head.

  • Any horse I did that on would probs gallop off.. you're a natural

  • i can only walk bridless

  • I LOVE DOING THAT ON MY HORSE! (Breezy) I usually only walk and trot like that and I don't canter much because when I try to canter her bridless she puts her hed down and it kinda scares me 0_0 Good Job!

  • Every step the horse takes, i cringe

  • when i ride bareback and bridless i use my feet to signal witch way i want to go

  • I wish I could do that! xD i'd just jump on my horse in the pasture and start riding em! xD

  • I ride bareback and steer with a whip too,

but i have a halter on and a leadrope for reins.

  • Do you use the rope around his neck for anything? Or it's only a "safety break"? =)

Great job, you and your horse are amazing to watch! =)

  • what's the whip signaling? It looks like you use it for directional purposes but do you use it to adjust speed as well?

  • no it doesnt really slow them down it just helps u stay on! trust me if u ride bareback for the 1st time hold onto the mane! i fell off 15 times in 2 hrs trying to run bareback on my horse... lol

well great video! ur a good rider!

    mykkie

  • lol i do this with my horse

the canters not so bad its just coming back in to the trot !!

  • gorgeous horse and wonderfully behaved! excellent seat as well! u shud be proud!!

  • that's so cool, i can only manage in an indoor arena cos my pony gets too excited an runs a muck :P she jumps anything she can find hehe,

Love how he stops and puts his little head down strait away!

  • aaw i do this with my horse. shes an angel. the hardest bit is coming back 2 trot from a canter lol

  • yer i agree! its ded bouncy!! haha but canter bareback is easier than wid a saddle!!haha

  • aww thats amazin:) i dont think id dare do that, id feel too scared without the reins to slow down lol i like ridin bareback tho.. bet the horse was havin a fun time:)

  • aww, beautiful horse, very nice ridingg

  • Gorgeous horse, this is great!

  • kewl

  • your the illest rider i have ever seen

  • wth is tht supposed to mean? She's amazing

  • I could never try that on my 10 year old retired thoroughbred! he is sooo crazy and hyper! but nice riding! :)

  • Wow, amazing, i'd like sugar to learn how to go bridleless!

  • Great work! Nice circles...and in such an open area. Very impressive.

  • You have good balance! You don't have to hold onto his mane.

  • I don't know about her, but when I am riding bridleless, I have my hands constantly in her mane because it is so relaxing for horse and human to stroke the wither and lower neck (that is a natural grooming spot for horses). Besides, what else are you supposed to do with them, lol.

  • *withers

  • when ma m8 catches her horse she lets me jump on while she leads back, i jus pretend im holdin reins haha! is it better to just hold the mane?x

  • yer, it shows the horse your there, and helps with your balance, its like reins, cept you cant pull bk too hard haha :)

i always hold there manes wen i ride barebk, even with a bridle, and wen i jump normally, it helps me lean forward correctly xx

  • does holdin the mane help slow the horse down? knowin my luck the horse wud bolt nd id go flyin haha =p x
