  • Okay listening to the Madeleine

  • No Delay Machine??

  • @townofnavy This video doesn't include the delays. Probably a panning issue with this video. If you watch other vids of this performance, the delay is there.

  • Comment removed

  • and what a great bassline too!

  • shame about the quality.

  • 4 people can't comprehend this masterpiece.

  • a bit flat :(

  • holy crap~ the gall to do the canon live w/o any help...leaves you prostrate. fred looks like fuzzy-chested rabbit:D

  • Queen show us,they don't know how to rock !

  • I love Queen, and the live at the Hyde Park is a great concert! All 70s concerts are the bests, God save the Queen!

  • Fuck yeah!!

  • yeah this song is hard even for queen :) but it means there cant be any band that can perform this song perfectly :) btw i think try The Prophet's Song Live at osaka

  • Its amazing how most of the rock singers by that time were total dicks but freddie opens the video by saying : this song written by brian is called the prophets song. awesome man

  • Queen RULED! Freddie was one of the best vocalists ever to grace the world of Rock music. And I just DARE anyone to go as deep in lyrics as this song goes!

  • The live performance is the true example of an artist's skill. Queen RULES!!!!!!!!!

  • I have heard better from Freddie. The cd version is still amazing!

  • listen to brian droping the E string to D , and that great phaser effect LOVE IT

  • was this your recording? @arcadata

  • Amazing interview with Brian recently

Go to npr.org and search his name

  • I was in 3rd grade when this came out.so much talent on that stage that night.

  • @diagreen Far out! Me, too! It was the first rock record I bought and I still have it! It probably doesn't sound very good anymore, for how much I played it, so I'm glad for the CD! Rock on!

  • I dunno why but the fact that this is such a majestic tune combined with his "Something heavy eh?" and his grin crack me up....

  • Death on two legs xD

    :)

  • a great song!

  • brill i was thear...

  • THE BEST SINGER!! :D

  • Is this song about the Noah's Ark?

  • LoL your all retards fighting on the internet. Thats the funniest shit anyone can do.

  • This is the only video recording of Prophet's Song isnt it?

  • no theres one from houston 77

  • they didnt even play it in Houston! (although it's on News of the world tour setlist) btw i think u meant the one from Earl's Court but it's just reprise

  • ya hah my bad it is the on from earl's court the one with the vocal improv

  • best band EVER!

    God save the Queen!!

  • and two by two my human zoo!!

i love this song... it is purely epic. (like all other queen songs)

    <3

  • This live version was quite poor but on the record I think this song is as good as Bohemiian Rhapsody if not better. The guitar riffs are certainly heavier! Neither before nor since has songs like this been written in the name of Rock´n Roll.

  • Aparecer estaban apagados los amplificadores de voz .

  • Jim Carey should try play Freddie in movie

  • This is when the delay sound fail right?, I was searching for it for a long time.

Like in the comments says "Only Freddie could've pulled this off" absolutely AMAZING!!

    Long live king Freddie!!

  • there s no more bands of this kind, great lyrics, amazing, eternal rocknroll!!!!!!!!.

Bands nowdays think my ears are shitholes.........

  • i love this. lol he did a good job covering for the broken echo machine!! (:

  • Questa canzione è meravigliosa....

  • I was in that concert, they performed the with the echo effect, it is not here!

  • Bless Freddie Mercury ~ One of God's Great Gifts to human art!! Plus.... HOMOs R Awesome ~ another great gift from God. :) Anyone not damned to follow the same ol' straight lines is blessed. Viva Diversity!! this isn't be finest version I've heard of this song, though ~ it is my favorite song/band from when I was just a girl of 10 years age. :)

  • Don't hate him for what you perceive is his EVIL. All you hate is just a mirror of.... yourself :) You must be a very diverse evil fag. Ha. Just kidding. lol

  • Still think he was an evil fag!

  • No...fuck YOU. He could sing nearly FOUR octaves, which is very hard for a lot of singers, so in the end, fuck YOU.

  • Well then call me a fag, mf.

  • Oh, so you keep coming back to the video by someone you OBVIOUSLY dont like? Wow, shitface.

  • I am a Journey fan but unlike YOU I'm open to more music, you cocksucker.

  • Wtf? I'm not even close to being Polish, you shitface. You give British people a bad name.

  • Ha, you can't even justify your own assumptions, asshole. You were the one who just wanted to post on this video to insult someone, so you're the ignorant one, motherfucker.

  • Just crawl away you pathetic evil slime. CRAWL away!

  • After you, SHITBAG.

  • I'M NOT FUCKING POLISH. I'm American, even if my page says otherwise. I don't spend time on that shit, you fucker.

  • FUCK YOU sledge999. Your a homo and a half. As shit as your yourself.

  • @sledge999 Jajajaja, keep talking man, keep talking, its free

  • Comment removed

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP.. you little piece of shit.... you couldn't even sing a note motherfucker... and if you want a real fight go to a gay bar (as josh homme said)... and try to insult them in the face... you stupid .. ignorant .. cock eater!!! you see.. people remidns with love freddie.... but you are nothing ...LOSER

  • This msg is not about Mercury its for sledge999

  • When I first heard Freddie do this, I was totally blown away !!!!!!! I could not believe it......but I couldn't even put my experience into words.......until I read your take on it, about it being almost like a religious experience.....you hit it right on the head !!!!!!! But, there's no "almost" about it.......that is EXACTLY what it is !!! And there are some others that are even more astounding ...check them out, try Queen-Vocal Improv/

    Prophet's Song.!...FREDDIE - THE GOD OF ROCK !!!

  • what delay

  • i know he had delay on the record... when he was performing did he have it? cause it kind of sucks without it

  • @stratoman550 Given the technology then, it was close to impossible to replicate, so no.

  • love this song : )

first time when I heard it was when I got the albom ! amazing !

  • bloody hell i was only 15 when my brother took me to this concert, it got me hooked on queen for life.

  • The Song ! T-H-E Song of Queen !

  • grandissimi queen...il miglior gruppo del mondo...con un frontman del genere e un chitarrista eccelso...

  • Queen son lo mejor!!!

    YEAH!

    woow toqee a Wagnerr! jaja

    che traumaa xD

    tubo cngnas!! jajajajajajajajajajajajjaajjajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja

  • Just for the note: the delays can't be heard in the vocal part, that's why what he signs sounds weird.

  • Digno de Yes, de Genesis.... que gloriosa banda progresiva supieron ser los Queen

  • Simplemente IMPRESIONANTE.

DIOS QUE CANCION TAN GRANDE CREASTE.-

  • es de Brian MAy

  • I think Fredie was pretty High in this performance! hehehe

  • he used to be high all time!!! god bless him

  • No he didn't

  • It's amazing I thought they never played that song live

  • OMG!! I remember this so well, I went with my best friend to see it (we were 15)!! It was absolutely awesome!

  • gah! so lucky!

  • My brother saw them on this tour in a smallish club in Passaic, NJ. Queen and Talking Heads are the only 2 bands I've never really had a chance to see live. You are a lucky individual!

  • oh my God ! really ?

your brother is so lucky ! :(

  • Rey de reyes. Admiro TANTO a este hombre!!!

  • maybe it sounds bad because of the recording i mean it's too old!!!

we have to recognize it's a really hard MASTERPIECE to perform live...bravo Freddie...!

  • Hey, leave the dudes personal life out of the music. Just listen.

  • This is Queen's best song by far...unfortunately, this version is pretty weak in comparison to the studio version.

  • wow why didnt they do the middle like it is on the recording? it wouldve been hard but dang i thought he was joking around or 4got the words....but luv the song n-e-wayz

  • Probably cause the middle section, as with Bo Rap, required a lot of overdubbing

  • I ve trying to get this version for more than 2 decades I heard once in the radio in a bootleg recording but never again not even in Napster -

    thank you very much

  • Hey, cool - glad you found this then : )

  • A great song, but this live version was poor...Freddie used to be so good at live performances...

  • actually the echo machine broke so he just had to make up stuff.........

  • Who is the Queen of Rock and Roll? Freddie of course, this song shows how good his voice really is, motherfuckers need to get past the fact he was gay, the rest of the guys aren't and who gives a shit in the first place, the music is what's important

  • its sad to see people hating judas preist for the same reason.

  • so much strong in this song! amazing!

  • queen lays on a rock. a rock that built the foundation of everything that is music. blu

es,metal, opera, rock n roll, etc, its all there.

  • can anyone present evidence of freddy admitting to being gay? if so please post if not shut the fuck up. i dont believe freddy was gay. just because his demeanor is that of a stranger musician does not mean hes gay. the media twists and misconstrews every innocent prey they can vindicate. especially the great ones, freddy being the greatest of them all. even if he was gay, who gives a fuck, if his sexual preference is that bothersome to you, your probably gay yourself.

  • he caught aids from a guy. your just a homophobe dude. get over it

  • you'r right! i also think he wasn't gay, but i didn't knew him in person i will never know if he was gay or not, i don't care if he was gay. but there is something weird about the gay story never seen good evidence..

  • but that is mine opinion, im not judging people i love queen en their music :D

  • theres interviews of his boyfriend talkin on the bbc (i think) documentary made not long after his death

  • Dude, he admitted it in interviews. Nevertheless, he's the greatest rock singer in history.

  • Amazing song. Queen is the best band ever. Really, I like a lot of good bands, but this is still the BEST.

  • I envy the mutznutz guy /woman who was at this gig...

What a tremendous voice Freddy had here...

  • This is Queens greatest song for me.

I played it to death from Night of the opera.

  • progressive metal, this and innuendo is queen at it's best.

  • I love the "death on two legs, tearing me apart" excerpt.XD Freddie you silly!

  • Any metal fan that is STUPID enough to criticize Freddie for being gay should shut his or her trap before making an ass of himself. Rob Halford aka "The Metal God" is a gay man. Rob rules and so does Freddie...the fact that they are/were gay men is unimportant.

  • Metal? What are you talking about? Freddie is the king!!!

  • I was at that gig (along with about 200,000 other people:-)). Queuing for the toilet was hell, as was getting home on the tube afterwards. Great days. I think it was the 6th anniversary of Hendrix's death.

  • I was there too, my first ever live gig and I was hooked. Actually managed to park my car fairly close (those were the days). Toilets? hahaha perhaps they existed but I only remember people forming a huge line along some bushes! Also the constant battle netween those standing near the stage and those who wanted to sit, with missiles flying everywhere. After, 2 free albums were offered to anyone who volunteered to clear the mess. One of the best days of my life.

  • this is exceptional .. pity the sound quality isn't as such that we can hear the delays well.

  • You can't hear the delays, because they've not worked at that moment...and Fred must have to do of his own with all vocals.

  • nobody said you have to lead the same alternative lifestyle. if the music is good, who cares if he was besexual?

  • Nice metal song eh? You don't know much about music, and specially not if you call Freddie a fag.

  • You are a true moron MetalChurch. I bet your "true metal singers" would give Freddie the respect he deserves. Go an vent your blatantly repressed feelings of homosexuality elsewhere.

  • heir heir .. a lot of true metal singers would kill for the reach freddy had .. and a lot of them really love the music Queen made..

  • fag? hahaha you like Poison and Warrant, get the hell out of here Hair Metal liker hahaha

  • ...Fag? I think your jealous cause he got more girls then you will ever in your entire lifetime. And he was gay. Freddie is more of a man than you will ever be so shut the fuck up and go listen to your crappy scremo crap.

    Long live Freddie Mercury!

  • lol, whatever. A metal singer would totally ruin this.

  • screw you

  • What the hell is a "NICE" metal song anyways? What a stupid dick. Singed?

  • I don't think metal would be quite the same without Queen, so shut your fucking face you damn dirty dick

  • i like the wa he says "A night at the opera" haha i love this song !

  • The Prophet's Song one of Queen's hardest song to do live, such an awesome band....RIP Freddie

  • Why would it be hard to do live?

  • Because you need a some effects from machine, which create an echo. In this version, that equipment has failed and Freddie must have to do himself. In studio, there's been a lot of voices and it was easier to do it. The same thing like medium part of Bohemian Rhapsody.

  • It has always been my favorite song by Queen since i first heard it in the late 70's

  • This is my favorite Queen song.

  • It's mine too...reminds me somewhat of Zeppelin for some reason.

  • I agree, it's a bit simular to ''Stairway to Heaven'' the style and song meaning i mean ;)

Queen is the best band ever!

  • Señoras y Señores el AMO de la improvisación...

  • was there and was only 13, me and a friend went, dont remember much except sooooo many people.

  • Do you have any idea how fucking lucky you are?????

  • My fav Queen song. Long live Freddie!! I miss you!!!

  • it sounds better live than from the album¬

  • This puts shivers down ones spine... Love you Freddie! Mwah!!

  • This could have been so much better if they just had a better recording equipment (which, at this time, did exist)

  • I didn't know this song was ever performed live because it's very complicated.

The middle part sounds weird without the overdubbing, but definetly something only Freddie could do without looking foolsih, he pulls it out of nothing.

Just brilliant, one of the best songs of the best band in history!

  • This recording had problems. You cannot hear the delaymachine, which usaly was used in the voice-solo part of this song. But in the audiance the delaymachine was heard.

  • i heard that it sounded weird b/c their equipment broke, so freddie had to do it himself...that is why it is so impressive.

  • non esiste niente di piu' bello di questa canzone

  • I remember when this song was reviewed as Queen's attempt to imitate Led Zep, but seriously, no way Robert Plant could have even tried to do half of the vocals on this song. Roger, Freddie and Brian together were, bar none, the best vocalists in rock. The studio version is sheer brilliance. And some of Brian May's best lyrics ever.

  • I do agree

  • exactly right couldint say that better myself.

  • does anyone know where i can get the DVD of queen's whole performance at hyde park '76?? i have checked amazon, but it doesnt have it. thanks!

  • friggin' brilliant! i'm a massive queen fan, but i never knew this stuff existed until i got broadband. i love this song, and the effort from freddie was simply awesome! who needs a reverb machine?

  • for one reason i like this song a lot, its like my favo queen song, there old songs from queen and queen 2 where also good.

  • lo mejor de lo mejor freddie te extrañamos

  • i watched god singing in this video! i saw 3 other angels, 1 playing bass gitar, 1 playing gitar, 1 drumming.

  • grande cancion , the prophet`s song

bye "Dios salve a la Reyna" desde Peru.
