  • anyone please tell me where i can find this strap. my old one just broke?

  • @doldoldol88 First try searching ebay for Casio DB-E30, at the time of writing there are two rubber bands. If that fails, you will need to ring casio (I got my metal bank fixed for 12 from them)

  • Did you know you can restore this watch to it's former glory using brasso metal polish? Mine was in a worse state cosmetically, now it looks new after a few applications. Even scratches on the metal trim polish off. Superb watch, shame about the strap design on both variations though.

  • Thanks for the great post. My band also breaks frequently - looking for a replacement now. It is a great watch and very handy features. Thanks again.

  • I would give the exzac same review of this watch. I bought 1 in Aug 04 and wore it for about 4-5 years before the strap brock. Which i then replaced it with a metal braclet one. Would like to get a new strap for my old one but not worth it when i can pick up up a new one on ebay for $37 AUD now, which beats the original $130 i paid in a shop. I would love it if casio brought out a new improved version of this watch but theres nothing to improve with it. Its a nice light weight slim watch.

  • What a wonderful watch!! Put that in a gshock 200m wr tough body and BANG!!#@$

You have the best casio digital watch

  • I got the same watch, but the problem is that it automatically goes back to the year 2000, without my interfering. Then i set it back to the current time and after some time it goes back to the year 2000 like as if i did something wrong in the year 2000 and the watch wants to remind me.hahahaha! Please help.

  • Hi guys. Can anyone help me? I have this CASIO watch too and I'm out of batery. It has been showing me 1 stripe up at the batery life for some time and today from time to time the display turns off, showing me just a C letter in the top right corner and the blank background. It's really annoying that in winter, where I live, there's not much sunlight showing up, because the only answer i could give myself was that I need to recharge the batery of the watch at sunlight...

  • @scorpyonul13

I left mine in the cupboard for like 6months and the battery died. Just leave it outside. Mine charged to medium battery on a cloudy day. Even on a sunny day it takes several (over 3-4) hours in direct sun light to charge from dead to full. So i'd leave urs outside for a full day at least.

Also, does anyone know what the S symbol in the top right of the screen means? Or what f:27 stands for at the very start of the database mode that you can enter phone numbers into?

  • @moondooper

Thank you very much for your answer. I left my watch in the sunlight and it charged, now showing me 2 stripes at the batery charge.

About your question regarding the S symbol in the top right of the screen - That symbol indicates that your watch will shut off it's display when in a dark area. To turn on the display again, you either can press the LIGHT button, or shake the watch a few times, or keep it in sunlight for a time. The best method is to press LIGHT button.

  • does anybody know when this was released? what year?

  • Nice watch and great review. I really like Casio watches.

  • I also got this model (waring it at the moment), but in bracelet metellic color version. There are a number of solar models in the G-shock lines, you might like to check them out. I just purchased G-shock G-5600 Tough Solar from ebay, which should be more solid and robust.

  • i got one today :)

  • Nice review! I love this watch too.

I've got the DB-E30D version of this watch, the one with the steel watch band which solves the problem with the unreliable resin watch strap.

  • I have one of these - love it.

Good combination of features, clear, uncluttered display with complete date.

I have the metal-strap version, too. Hate those nasty resin bands.

Unfortunately, they connect the metal band to the watch with a nasty plastic bit which invariably fails, when the watch itself has years of good life left in it.

    Maddening design flaw!

Inspect regularly, or expect your watch to suddenly fall off when you're swimming in the lake.
