@drummerbadass1 You are absolutely right, bitch.. You became a hopeless dope addict fucked up on acid around the time HENDRIX took the world by storm. That's when your life became shitty and has been one big pile of DOG SHIT from that moment forward. After 43 years of staying high as a kite, now you want to try to get your life together after you lost EVERYTHING.!! You were supposed to be a professional drummer, but now you are on YOUTUBE everyday typing in childish bullshit. Baa Ha Haa.
@drummerbadass1 Oh, by the way, i didn't know a black man helped change your life, After you talked about just how much you hate black folks.. Maybe your were high that night.. I can tell you still get fucked up drugs because your words never make sense.. Poor lil JUNKIE JEFF.. lol lol .. You don't know your ass from a hole in the wall. Maybe that's why you insist on acting like a child, you have missed the best years of your life getting high, so now you are trying to recapture your youth.
Unique performing genius on the electric guitar. Only Stevie Ray Vaughan came anywhere near sounding like him and he's dead too. It isn't fair. Even the great FZ died far too young.
Nobody in '66 knew what a Strat could do. Bloomfield said that he saw Hendrix doing all this "stuff" out of a little amp in Greenich Village before he made the trip with Chas to England. Every great guitarist, or musician for that matter, is unique--but Jimi was on a different wavelength. The first 2 albums were put together before Jimi became heavily dependent on drugs, especially alternating between speed to get going and downers and booze to get rest. Killer combo then. Still is. Dang.
@GizmoFan1 I won't even mentioned the last person you said something about.. just don't do it again in a Hendrix song please. Don't be stupid you are smarter than that.
@89Pigsofdarkness Nah man that's when we will have a new beginning. Everywhere in the world you're gonna' hear this and Within You Without You and we're all going to be saved spiritually! Ya' dig man?
@GizmoFan1 Yea..but i dint think he deserves that kind of attention..if your a lefty and die at 27...your part of the club- Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain...all three had more talent in their pinkies than bieber in his whole body
Although your world wonders me, with your majestic superior cackling hen. Your people I do not understand, so to you I must put an end. And you'll never hear surf music again. Wow, Jimi was ahead of his time. How prolific these words are today!!!
ubertrooper6300 huh? Redding was an astoundingly mediocre bass player and Hendrix had little desire to continue playing with him. He was just imposed on Hendrix by Chandler.
@carrier3232 the bass line is a very simple drone that anyone could play. Hendrix himself was bored playing with Redding, who frequently could not hold his ground with Hendrix and was miles from the same musical hemisphere. Hence Jimi's asking Billy Cox to play with him in the Band of Gypsies. Now that is a bassist.
@carrier3232 O, and have you ever read of any bassist in the world stating that Noel Redding is one of their favorite bassists? I haven't . . . Many of the bass tracks on ELL were done by Hendrix because he was dissatisfied with Redding's playing.
I love the bass line in this song...it's a shame Noel left them in '69. Actually, on that note, I wish more people had respected the Experience as a whole, not just as individuals, because, along with Jimi and Noel not getting along, it was said that Noel also felt unappreciated, since Hendrix and Mitchell would often steal the show with their respective talents.
Anyway, Noel was great with the Experience, especially in this song.
Happy 69th Birthday Jimi....Thanks for leaving us all of the great music that you did in such a short time for us...I'll meet you in the next world, and I won't be late!!
There were more than a few science fiction short stories written with the theme that Jimi Hendrix was ... not-of-this-world. He did things with a guitar, in total, the NO ONE has since been able to accomplish and top. John Mayer tries desperately to be Jimi Hendrix ...
In my late thirties I had to fine a new job. At the job I could where headphones. Jimi's "Third Stone", Rare Earth "I Know Im losing you, Iron Butterfly, old school R&B like Temptations "Take a Stroll through yr mind", Mcfadden "Aint no stopping me now", all long versions got me through with prayer and God got me through. Im in my fifties now and nothing sounds as sweet as these jams!
Totally amazing in my head. This is by far the best home made video that I have ever seen. BeautifuL!!! and Thank you for sharing. I need some more of that.
@21ricky666 I was in 7th grade when i was introduced to Jimi. My sister bought me the B&W tshirt with his face emblazed on it. My science teacher sent me home with a note from the Principal saying "Please send your son to school in more appropriate dress" I wore it under my regular shirt from then on and took the outer shirt off during lunches and recess! It was 1969......
@21ricky666 if i did it would be too small!!! BUT I have seen others that look the same, Go to Experience hendrix .com, I'm sure they have it! Peace, jimi
@edgore82 I met Jimi through taking copious amounts of weed and acid at the same time, honest to god. He told me" Fill the skies with rainbows my son and melt the ground with the water from the sea".

@doox420 Too bad you never got to see him. The English language is insufficient to even begin to describe Jimi. He was an almost Spiritual 'force' moving across the earth. Skan' taku skan' skan'
Trippiest song ever recorded. Mitchell's drumming is phenomenal. He sounds like Elvin Jones.

@doox420 jimi hendrix man! he is the guitar god, he started out in 1967 and changed the music world forever untill he died in 1970, but hes still alive
sandiegoled13 1 year ago
@doox420 Too bad you never got to see him. The English language is insufficient to even begin to describe Jimi. He was an almost Spiritual 'force' moving across the earth. Skan' taku skan' skan'

@HighOnHerb Damn right. When I was a teenager listening to this, I had never gotten stoned and I hated it. But now? Oh God, it's magic.

This song illustrates how underrated Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding were; they actually made for a very solid rhythm section.
