Some dog rases can be threated with loving clap on the sholder, like yours, some only needs a little food, and some must actualy be physicaly punched. okay, so yea maybe this guy is a little bit of a control freak. there may be a very valid reason for it. consider it proofing a behavior to the point where he can leave food on a low table, or if food falls on the floor, he knows his dogs arent going to go diving in and snatch it up. to the average person this may not seem important, but some dogs have food allergies, and some foods are poisonous. so really, he is looking out for the absolute BEST interest of his pets!

Yes, they are 'well trained'. Self control & waiting for a command is not a bad thing to teach a dog. But the concern is what method he used to train them. Most people would be picking up on their extremely concerned faces and body language. It would suggest that they were severely reprimanded in some way during the learning process - hence they actually seem scared of the treat. Althought they may REALLY WANT it, they DON'T DARE eat it. It's clearly been associated with a highly negative event.

Really people? It's clear these dogs are simply well trained and very obedient. They're trained to wait for treats, and not beg. I think that's awesome because it means their owner loves them and has put a lot of time into their training. They look well groomed and healthy, too. Notice both got pieces because they were both behaving. There's no way this could be animal cruelty, and it's not mean. Very cute dogs :)
