  • Excellent job!

  • The man was Steve Houghton..good voice. Saw this in Plymouth and London.very good, but still no match for Les Mis!!.

  • everytime i watch the scene with kim and her son in this video i cry.

  • why are they singing sun and moon outside the bedroom?

  • nice (=

  • =O john is black...ehh i didnt like his singing.....there is somwthing wrong this cast other than the engineer

  • Kim sings flat. I've never heard anyone who could sing this role well except for Lea Salonga in her early days. I have still to hear a Chris that I like. :/ Such a gorgeous but voice-wrecking score.

  • i like lea salonga's version better. no offence. lea's voice is just more soothing.

  • ate Gigi...he missed his son then that is why she's very emotional in that part..

  • This Kim's vibrato is a little excessive to me, I couldn't enjoy "I Give My Life For You" at all. And I wish that she wasn't quite so aggressive with Tam, I understand that she was going for desperation and passion but that was bordering on scary, made scarier by the fact that she had blood all over her face like she just lurched her way out of Thriller (I know Thuy's soldiers just beat her up). Loved the Engineer though.

  • i'd give anything to go back to the three times I saw this on tour with kerry ellis!! I remembering crying buckets during her song 'now that i've seen her'... she cried her eyes out just like in the video all 3 times i saw it!! amazing tour and amazing cast each and everyone!!

  • the engineer is so good. my favorite show.

  • Is Ellen played by Kerry Ellis?! She sounds so much like Kerry.

  • Yes, that's Kerry Ellis.

  • I knew she sounded familer I just couldn't figure out if it was her or not.

  • Omg, how didnt I recognise her?! Lol

  • Dunno. *giggles* Maybe, it was because she was very young in this?

  • Wow, great cast.

  • I wish I could have seen this... But I was to young when they were on tour

  • I went to see this cast twice when they were on tour! They were AMAZING! Made me fall in love with the musical. I escpecially loved Jon Jon Briones! He was so funny! & The uy who played John who sings "Bui doi" he's also such a nice guy! Awsome show!

  • lea is the first one to play Kim's role...the reason you think she's the best cause you stereotyped the role already...KIM = lea's voice. Which is inappropriate... which is sad too...cause others will never get a chance to play Kim without others commenting the same thing..."Kim is Lea", that's what they say...very boxed..limited..cruel.

  • I must agree.. I think on the contrary there are equal if not better talents that are underrated. Lea is a great singer no doubt and i love her to bits, but the role of Kim is open to individual interpretation, and just because they did it differently than Lea doesn't make their performance inferior. Gigi Marasigan is goodt too... West End was raving about her.

  • he's gorgeous!

  • REPORTED!!!1

  • where was this version filmed??

i saw the same one in Adelaide with a different cast. It is amazing!! the best thing i've ever seen!!!!!

  • LEA THE BEST

  • lea is still the best.

  • The Chris in here has a pretty good vioce.

Kim as well... but i actually realize now that no one can replace Lea as Kim.

  • @magical0wanna0be some can at least come close....but listening to this one gives me a headache. asdlkfajsldfkj.

  • Miriam Valmores Marasigan is our Worship Leader in our Church,,,she brings back to the Lord the talent that He has given her... And if you could only hear her preach,, you'll admire her more :)

  • Saw this in 2005....JonJon was out for a 12 week peiod and Leo Valdez did the part at Woking & Nottingham. Leo was AMAZING. I saw it afetr this cast had changed. I saw Ramin Karimloo as Chris....again he was AMESOME!! A friend of mine was in it and we got backstage...great to see all the set & costumes up close! Fantastic Production =]

  • saw this production a few years ago about 2 or 3 shows into the run - it was FAB!!!

  • i love jonjon!!!!

  • Is the guy who plays Cris gay?

  • I doubt it - you never find any gays in musical theatre ;-P

  • wow. kerry ellis. damn.

  • another version of miss saigon. very cool. i also never did had the chance to see the original musical ;_; but i loved the songs! and seing previews here in youtube makes me really wanna see the original, so badly xD

  • hehe! astig insan ko yan!

  • I like Lea's version, yet this kim was quite good, they have different style. thank you for sharing.

  • The original is the best, LEA SALONGA is the best...

  • Lea Salonga is the BEST Kim! I own the Original London Cast Recording! I perfer Simon Bowman as Chris!

  • Kerry Ellis ROCKS as Ellen

  • The Originals are simply the best, the subsequent castings only need to copy the acting and singing of the originals but still they could not match. But still its good they replace The Eng'r. and Thuy with an Asian to make it more acceptable. Their performance are good.

  • This was the show I saw in Glasgow. I (L) Kim. She was really good!

  • my favorite musical :]

  • My sister bought me the London Cast Recording for Hunnukkah when I was in high school! I used to perform this musical in my room I played the Engineer, Chris, John, Vietnamise martial artists, and Thuy. When I played Thuy, I really had to yell the lines as if I was Thuy.

  • Ok... i don't like the production number and the cast.... ""but i love the kissing scene"" Grr.

  • well i have seen this production about 20 times and love it plus i saw the other tour production about 30 times as well

  • I never even saw Miss Saigon ever live but I want to! Miss Saigon is one of my favorite musicals! I saw Les Miserables once on tour when it came to my town in 2002, my mom took me for my 12th birthday!

  • I'm sorry but Chris is WAY too effeminate. Kim isn't strong enough. I don't believe for a second that these two are in love. And what is with the blood on Kim's face? I guess they made "Miss Chinatown" more politically correct with "Miss Tinsletown." I wouldn't pay to see this production.

  • kim was roughed up by the viet congs who were with thuy before she killed him, thus the blood on her face.

  • That Ellen was FIERCE

  • Like Kim!

    Don't really like chris...

    ooh, and i love Ellen!
