Not really a "trick"...you should be running away from almost every fight in the game. Fights waste time, have the potential to get you hurt or killed, and you usually don't get any reward.
I've simply determined how that soldier engine works by knowing how much times I need to step forward and defend and then forward and attack. (4 simple defenses and the 5th instead of defense is an attack) it results great.
No I'm not fighting today *runs*.

Yeah, but that takes more time..
A lot of people say that this is the hardest guard to beat, but I think he's not that hard, just like you.

Nice move. What you can also do is to equip and unequip your weapon and strike in a quick succession because the guy will come at you if you do that.
But yea this one looks way more cool :)
