If you said the Lara Croft is a Anglo Saxon version of Adéle Blanc-Sec updated for the final of the 20th century, I would agree with you.

About time some one made a film about this comic books, also I find it shameful that Adele Blanc-Sec was never translated to English, to the best of my knowledge, at least. there's also versions in Portuguese, Spanish, German and Italian...Why not English?

I intended to understand the story with original dialogues (in french)...but I've never listen to such a bad actress. They would have to make a french post-production by real actors befor eediting the movie :(

@ratchadapalazzo Chances are that sound was taken from an audio library. if you listen out for them, you will often find the same sounds cropping up in many different places. In the first Half-Life game, there was a sound of a bird of prey in the game at one point - the amount of times I've heard the same sound in other games/tv shows/films whatever. It was quite distinctive, so not really one you would confuse with other sounds.

@ratchadapalazzo There are sound masters whose job is just making sound-overs for movies of everything from those impossible meat smacking punches in spaghetti westerns to movie monstor roars. They have copyright on these sounds and sell the rights to use them to various movie makers. After a while, everyone has a stock of the same sounds that get used over and over again. If someone comes up with a new sound, especially for monsters, they are in big demand and get top dollar.

@ratchadapalazzo Some big production movies, like the first Jurassic Park, will pay huge amounts to have new sounds made exclusively for their movie. I saw the DVD the making of Jurassic Park they showed how they did all this, even tiny details that often are missed by the viewer. It was very interesting.
