youve got quite a bit of bubbles there, you should probably be degassing the solution before putting anything in it, it will improve the effectiveness of the cleaner
I've been told to avoid using thinning solvents in places on my airbrush that use rubber O-rings to avoid degrading them. Have you noticed any failures in the seals in your airbrush since immersing the whole thing in the ultrasonic cleaner?
@bradco12 Personally, I've have no problems with the ammonia in windex. Some people say it does harm. I really don't know honestly, I'm sure it would harm the rubber/plastic parts in the brush but I'd say you'd have to be soaking the stuff in there for a long period of time before something actually gives. /shrugs. I can't give you an definitive answer.
i been airbrushing for 20 plus years.i remove the o rings and the whole trigger assembly and soak the rest of the parts in laquer thinner. i couldnt imagine ever using windex after trying it once. thinner dissolves any hardened paint to jelly. if you have any doubts dont try it.for a quick clean i sbmerge the tip in thinner and not up to the trigger. always remove the o rings, but they are cheap as hell too.the chrome has never came off nothing of mine. worry more about control than cleaning
i heard windex eats the chrome off over time... because it has ammonia in it ??? i just picked up a new badger 105 and im about to spray soon, kinda sketched out on using windex now though.... any suggestions anyone?!?! lol ps im spraying acrylic model paint.
@j4ym4t16 only if you use solvent cleaner . the water based cleaners wont effect them . now if you get lacquer thinner or paint thinner in your inner workings of the airbrush it will dry out the o rings and packing .
I wanted to ask is window cleaner safe to use on all air brush types and models? I use it for plastic/resin kits and paint with acrylics and sometimes lacquer paints. I have the Iwata eclipse BCR model airbrush thanks.
been kinda interested in air brushing(and checked your video showing, what would be best to have, main problem for me is price), would specially be useful for vehicles, was wondering kinda how this cleaner worked, if just threw something in and that's it or what, knew marnius wasn't sure how this worked, good vid to have just in case :P
Hey Dude. Yet another very clear and simple vid. Nice to see the unit in operation and thanks for the link to AnixSG's vid as I hadn't seen that one either.
Doesn't manufacturers say always use the basket provided,or you will damage your transducer, and scratch up your vat, which needs to be smooth.
Seeing videos of people putting oversized engine parts way bigger than the sonic cleaner. think about the weight ur putting directly on the transducer.
I sused to use a large one back ine 80s whem I was a trainee lab tec, thats the first Iv'e seen of the modern type. I wonder how well it would clean a brush?
Very nice vid! I saw Les put up a video talking about him having tried an ultrasonic cleaner and I never knew what it was. Now I know how to clean my airbrush with an ultrasonic. Thanks for the information.
@SkartoothStudios Not that I know off. All it is is vibrating water. I doubt it powerful enough to do any damage other than maybe make your finger nails really shiney. lol I clean like every 2 weeks or so. Depends on how much the airbrush is used. If the trigger on the airbrush feels sluggish no matter how much I shoot cleaner through it, then I usually break it out.
Hey Bro! Dose it vibrate? What dose it actually do? I have seen vids on hand cleaning and this looks WAAAAAY easyer than that! As usual very precise and to the point. DAME IT Chung!!!!! Put in at least ONE "UM" to make me feel better :D Take care Bro!!!!!
@terrainaholic It's vibrating ya. But all you feel is a hum from the machine. You can see the surface of the water vibrating though. :) Oh, I "UM" all the time. When you don't hear it at all, means I actually wrote a script. lol But I "UM" sometimes when I don't write a script and you don't hear it much because I try and edit it out as much as I can or I'm doing multiple takes lol

@mutr0nics thats why u take the rubber rings out.

@mutr0nics I haven't noticed anything bad yeh with the o-rings. But then again, I usually buy a new airbrush every like year to year and a half.

wont throwing the body in mess up the rings in it?

@j4ym4t16 I was thinking the same thing. The instructions on my Iwata tell me not to submerge the body in any liquid.

I have a very similar Conair model that I found in a Ross for $5, had to get it. I use it to clean my AB and strip minis, both with Simple Green.

@chancerNW Les has said in a couple of his older videos (before he got an airbrush) that he used a sonic cleaner on his brushes as well.

I once did a hands-on training at a tv broadcasting enterprise. They too used ultrasonic for cleaning, especially in-ear phones.
