its kinda hard to believe that #1 for cal (the guy who made the last lateral) is now convicted for murder. but other than that i didn't realize that gilbert was cal's QB at the time

I love this clip. Absolutely the most exciting 6 minutes in football history. The Elway drive was crazy enough, and then to run it back was crazy enough... but with 50,000 laterals and the friggin band on the field?!?! WOW!!

To the idiots like maximont who hate on this play... how can you not feel the energy? have you ever even played football??? how can you hate on that play? easily one of the most if not THE most exciting game in the history of any sport!!!!
i mean come on... a 3493483 lateral play with 4 seconds left to win the game ???? are you kidding me???? the band on the field just added to the drama!!

Gary Tyrrell{the Stanfurd trombone player who got ran over in the endzone by Kevin Moen}, is a chief financial officer for the Woodside Fund, an early-stage venture capital company. I get goose bumps everytime I hear the call made by Cal announcer Joe Starkey. "The bear will not quit, the bear will not die". Go Bears!!

"The bears in a seemingly impossible situation. They have only one time out left. They pretty much have to run it back to win the game, what a heartbreaking way to lose...but what a great way to win if you're a Stanford fan." You're right, they had the game called before the kickoff and that's what made that play so insanely awesome!

See, it is the Stanford drive that makes it the greatest ever. A great finish on top of a great finish.
I wonder whatever happened to that trombone player?

Joe Starkey is the greatest. Imagine what it would've been without his commentatory. Still great, but a little less great.
