Uh, both the 350z and the turbalt run about a 14.0 in the quarter stock. I had an '04 Z with short ram and custom catback, they're not very mod friendly the car picked up almost nothing from those mods. The cobalt on the other hand, is already almost 10 grand cheaper, and with a $350 tune and a muffler delete will walk a 350Z no problem, You'd have to put a $5k-$9k twin turbo kit on the Z to keep up and the balt still handles better.
@AJballer the new VQ engines are even worse than the VQ35DE's. They respond decently to mods. My car dynod 287hp/245ft/lbs on a Dynojet stock and made 328/290 on the same dynojet with full bolt ons. The VQ37VHR can't be tuned because no one has figured out the VVEL yet and with the stupid VVEL it has a much higher chance of severely damaging the engine when testing tunes. I don't think anyone will ever unlock it. the LS platform is a different story though :)
@AJballer I have Fast Intentions Cat Back and Long Tube Headers, Stillen G3 CAI, and Stillen Lightweight UD Pulley. I want t add a lighter fly wheel but I am still deciding wether itd worth it or not. My car is a lot quicker than stoc. The only tme I have taken it to a drag strip was with I/E only and I was running 13.4@108 and then the oil temps rose pretty high and I was running 13.6-8's@105 I used to have a GTM oil cooler but the AN fitting exploded
@AJballer but still what are you modding a $30,000 car or a $20,000 car. the more you pay for the car the more it will cost to tune and i do not believe the cobalt will out handle a 350. the balt still is fwd and instead of dropping 5-9k on a twin turbo which the 350 doesnt need at all its actually overkill you can buy some handling upgrades that will beat the balt on the track even if the balt has mods. rwd>fwd any day all day.

Very nice. I have the same engine in my HHR SS. Being in a HHR people do not excpect it. I beat a bolt on 350z and he was soo hurt! He spent 32 grand to be beat by a stock 18k car. haha
350z's are slow. lol. but then a twin turbo 350z can have more than 500rwhp/torque. but then its about top end. my brothers old twin turbo g35 500/500 beats 911 turbos in high speed. but then a stage something cobra smoked both of them. the cobalts seem interesting. i have an evo. 426awhp. it is the driver but its the car too. but if you put a crap load of hp in the cobalt, wouldnt it not go nowhere and just stand still? isnt it a front wheel drive?
i love my cobalt but an evo is more of my dream tunner car for me that i would love to have next to the new skyline and ya front wheel drive sucks now that im at about 330 hp... just the slightest tap of the gas in first my tires dont stop spinning..i havent even had this car for a year and im about to get my third set of front tires
It's not a skyline. It is a GTR. There is a difference. The Skyline name was lost to a family car in Japan. That is why it is not called a Skyline. Doesn't even look half as good as a real skyline anyway.

@RatzSSSC if you wanna get rid of wheel hop get a ingalls torque dampner or solid engine mounts. Cuz there are no tires out there that will get ird of wheel hop on these cars, trust me. these cars have way to much engine movement from the factory you have to get more solid ones.

its less than the american dollar and cars are rediculously priced up here. like escalades for example got for 85 g's to 94 g's. much cheaper in the states
@projectTC4 The thing about the EVO is that AWD sucks. It sucks gas, adds weight and reduces drivetrain efficiency. And really I'm more into American cars. With the SS/TC, and the LNF engine, Chevy proved that the US could build a sweet turbo four-cylinder. Now they need to put that engine in a RWD roadster with a hard top. I added the hardtop because I don't like convertibles (see Saturn Sky Redline/ Solstice GXP). The frame strengthening adds weight to the body.
my balt is sittin at about 330-340 and i dont have that many traction issues.. 1st gear is obviously a fail... 2nd on dry pavement with decent tires should keep traction most of the time, unless you hit a bump or some loose gravel or something like that.
@projectTC4 you know its actually quite sad that the gtr isnt really a "skyline" yes its a twin turbo six cylinder but its a v-6 which is sad cuz the skyline is a straight six the rb26 which in my opinion is a better engine anyway. now dont get me wrong i am a nissan enthusiast i own 3 of them and the gtr is one of the best cars made lately but i dont think it holds up to the skylines reputation. the gtr is pretty much unmoddable becuz nissan made it pretty much perfect so its not like a skyline

That had to be and old Z cause the '08's ain't going out that way. Of course it does seem to take a Supercharged/Turbo Cobalt to beat just a Stock Z in all of the videos on here. The 350Z in that video IS NOT TURBOED. It take atleast a stage 2 Cobalt to keep up and barely beat ANY Stock '03 - '06 Z, and the '07 and '08's beat/and reel in the stage 2's. NO cobalt even stands a chance against a Turbo Z, no matter how you look at it.
How is the tranny holding up in that cobalt. Hope you have a rebuilt tranny for running over 20lbs of boost. Otherwise that would be a quick death for a stock cobalt's tranny.
Cobalt are fast one of my friend got one with some mods but its always broken .
