Great Theme but a horrible audience. They don't seem to be enjoying this, if I was there I'd bopping my head back and forth! Heck, I'd bust out a lighter for Mrs. Bond!
I'm annoyed that I've only just discovered this band on Youtube. Great arrangements and performances. John Barry himself would have been pleased.
I agree with the other comments in relation to the audience - I'd have been whooping after this one!! I think the audience must be either stuffed dummies or totally Deaf.
I love how all of the little nuances of the original Barry recordings are intact. I've always liked the slight dischord on most of his brass lines and it's captured perfectly here.
gotta say..fair play to the band..there you are giving a fine renditionof the john barry classic...and the crowd manages a paltry clap clap...you guys deserve better than that.
OK guys...I Gotta know!! What are the open four notes on the trumpet blast? I think I figured what the bass is doing but the brass is eluding me!! Argghhhh!!
The languid applause after this piece is insulting. This piece has to be about the ultimate ski theme; skiing, while humming this tune, becomes a race against death, even ona bunny hill. I once had to get down a minor black diamond run at Mont Sainte Anne in Quebec because my wife was in trouble and, eventhough I'm not a solid black D skier, I raced like a demon on skis with the OHMSS theme plowing through my mind ; I don't think that my 180 K2s have
My favorite BOND theme -- and by the way, George Lazenby did a decent job (considering he was by trade a MODEL, not an actor at the time), in a thankless position ... having to follow Sean Connery !
Ditto's on that Bud. Always been my favorite music from the Bond series. And this is one reason this was my favorite Bond episode. Cannot be duplicated...period.
I agree with you raiderdan -- people always sleep on Lazenby, but for a guy who had to follow THE James Bond, he did a bang-up job. I wish he had stayed on in the role, people would have appreciated him more later in life. OHMSS has one of the greatest instrumentals of the entire series.
Come on we don't have to discuss that ohmss was one of the most impressivest bond in the whole world!!
The story including Tracy Bond's death ist absolutely important for any other bondfilm made after ohmss, because it gave bond a special sign in his life!!
Lazenby also hsa been offered to do 7 more bond movies, but he didn't take the advantage!!
So great movie, great music and great Bond!!
Ps:Any Bondfan should love all movies because they are all made very well!!
I'm not sure if it's my all time favorite Bond film, but it is right up there. GL did a much better job than critics said, in a near-hopeless attempt to follow SC (still, to this day, the REAL JAMES BOND).
Thanks, i cant believe that somethig like this exist. you all are really amazing. No se si entienden castellano pero gracias por el grato momento de escuchar todas sus versiones que son INCREIBLES...gracias
One of the first films to expose MK Ultra Monarch mind control as well as aristocratic Bloodline geneology. Mass extinction by way of bio-terrorism of the food supply. Ian Fleming was an ex-British agent. George Orwell too. They wrote about their own experiences. Only NOW do we know that stuff is ALL REAL. Interesting.
I want more attitude, but I have to remind myself it was at an event and I cant just add a distortion guitar to everything I hear. Needless to say I love this cover. It is very faithful to the original.
we are based in London and Surrey but have been to Hull, Gainsborough and Kent this year! Currently we even have an enquiry in for Portugal! Thanx for your comments...
hey i'd not really thought about that! yes now you mention it there are alot of similar bits. i've played incredibles often though and it reminds me of mission impossible (not that it is just in 5/4!) thanx for the comment
