I'm ten, and it is fine. The worst bit in my opinion, is the noise when it drops. It's alittle bit loud in my opinion. Still a great ride!

@djlowtek Alton towers isn't aloud to build above tree level though. It's why the thunder loop was probably removed.

Went on it six times today the ride is awesome not scary but unlike any other ride I've been on and amazing theming in the que and station ride it bit whatever you do don't go alone!

Apparently the track drops and from one section to another and it goes backwards, nothing big. It said in the paper they were offering health insurance because it's so scary and people will have heart attacks. I doubt it, they said that with Oblivion and Rita but they're hardly scary. Nothing can beat that ride on top of a skyscraper in Vegas.

There is no age rating it is a marketing scheme to make people think it is that thrilling ect. It was done with saw at thorpe park but that has no age restriction on it. It just has a recomendation.

the age rating is because they say that people under 16 wont have the 'mental maturity' to be able to cope with the elements of this psychoaster. thats what i read on the alton towers website.

The boot camp was delayed anyway so thats not possible as no member of the public has ridden it yet. There is a worlds first but it won't be the sort of worlds first air and oblivion were it will be more based on effects ect.

The ride isn't even finished yet so i can't see how you have ridden it.

tbf, everyone whos commenting saying "its gona be crap and the age thing is stuped" is just falling for it. i bet the people who created this wanted to make it sound stuped and "unscary" but if you went on it you'd know why the age ratings are there? i went in terror of the towers (the age rating was 14 + i was 13) thinking i was gona be okay but i wasnt - serisoly it was scary ;LL so before you judge you shoud go on it first ;L

So You could be a very tall 11 year old and get away with riding it but if you are a small 13 year old and hardly look 13 then you will not be able to ride, that's stupid!

Why is there an age limit. The ride itself, from what i've seen so far, just looks like a normal roller coaster with scary theming... no loops, not that high- i went on oblivion first when i was 11- THAT is a psycho-coaster, cause it kinda tells you that you're not gonna come out the other side.

Alton Towers is amazing i stay in the hotel nearly every month so i know all the roller coaster but the new re-themeing of Spinball Wizzer (Super Sonic Spinner) And Rita (Painted Green) Will Really Go Well WIth This New Coaster

ive been to america with an open mind and yeah the coasters are good (maybe a little thin on theming if not at disney?) but this does look exceptional. btw, i think the one ride and age limit is a marketing ploy, how bout you?

I'm almost certain the age and one ride is a marketing ploy - it might run through to saying it on the ride entrance signage too, but it won't/can't possibly be enforced in reality, it wouldn't work.

Strata coasters are 400+ feet.200+ is a Mega coaster.

hahaha, i was thinking strata is 400+ what is he talking about? hahaha. im jealous now. i live in southern california and i want to get over on this ride so bad. our last coaster was terminator salvation and that was so much more than i expected. it was great. but i am a fan of story, scenery, and atmosphere, and this coaster seems to have it. and its new technology. =]
