  • fuck you ....you have no idea wath is solar panel :))

  • damn nice ti.....

  • 1 question.

Can a PV cell be powered by a fluorescent light bulb?

I know this does not make very sense but I want to try out something..

  • Good Idea

  • what did he use to test the panel? the green thing?

  • Comment removed

  • would anyone have a rough ideaon of the total cost in making a fully complete, sealed, encased, etc etc solar panel that can charge a 12 volt battery?

  • It will take you 10 Years - to pay back on Solar Panels

If you want to short this time to 1-2 Years

There is a website that explain how to Build your own Solar Panels

just for a fraction of the Retail Price today

Just go to Google and Search for...

    "Top DIY Solar Panels Review"

  • Does the wire that you put down the front face need to make contact all the way across the cell or only the three areas like on the backside?

  • Where do I find these cells cant find on your website

  • I have to agree Denise is hot and I found here to be the most interesting part of the video.

  • thanks very much for both of u

  • I always thought soddering was something homosexuals did.

  • This is an intellectual orgasm!

  • yanks its a soldering not sawdering lol

  • Good vid

  • In the UK 100 of those would cost £170

  • Hey my name is Ron. I'm starting a solar field investment type company and I would like to get in contact with you two my email address is

ezromantis@ Gmail.com this could potentially be very beneficial to you depending on what the direction is after we get in touch. So please contact me.

  • What the hell is sodering? Is that a special form of soldering for solar panels? Or is it the same as soldering?

  • @ChaddaBoppaDooBopper

I hear people pronounce it both ways. I know what it meant.

  • as much as i would like to make one, it looks really annoying.

  • good videos.. good couple you two haha.. :)... nice..

  • feed the solder onto the heated area... DON'T LIFT TILL SOLDER IS APPLIED... AND DONT GO BACK AND FORTH IN SCRATCHING MOTION. all your soldering skills are in need of alot of practice... please watch some videos on proper solder application LOL

  • The video is okay in the aspects of basic information. The only problems I had were your "SOLDER"ing techniques. being able to adjust temp. can make big diff... Ideal soldering temp is between 600 and 700 degs. F... also note that your solder tip on that iron is really bad. replace tip and always remember to tin it after youve soldered the lead. you should also have a damp spounge to remove solder from the iron before soldering. YOU SHOULD NEVER CARRY SOLDER ON IRON!!!! apply heat to area and..

  • @richalbert3 Not everybody pronounces the L in SOLDER. Regional differences abound.

  • Location to buy the cells ?

  • @MeNewBee ebay

  • nice tits bro

  • If you put a matchstick between each cell when soldering you get them spaced nicely

  • if you miss with the soldering iron wouldn't that damage the cell?

  • Please, the word to join two pieces of metal together with flux and heat is SOLDER Not SODDER, It is very distracting when the word is so blatantly mispronounced. Quite interesting apart from that.

  • @barbam51 what happens when the solar panels get 'older', and the weather gets 'colder', will the 'holder' of the 'solder' 'scold' their 'older' hands with the 'soldering' iron ??

  • @barbam51

solder is pronounced , "sodder". i took a class and have heard the right pronunciation multiple times. it's sodder.

  • @barbam51 Use a dictionary re-re...

    sol·der [sod-er]

They are pronouncing it correctly, It YOU who mis pronounces it.

  • I almost thought this was threes company..

  • thanks a lot .....

  • we need boob-powered energy. that's literally infinite watts of energy, 24/7. the power of boob does not discriminate between night and day.

    ( o Y o ) ALL HAIL THE BOOB ( o Y o )

  • You guys are fun.

Great video. I actually have a box of cells in my closet, now I actually know what to do with them. Thanks !

  • little shakey there bro. I do the same thing after a big line of meth! lol do you remember the game operation?.. I SUCKED @ that game out the gate! very well done guys. shakes n all. 4 real

    mattallica

  • Nice boobs

  • tedious, but....if circumstances deemed necessary, very very essential ( post apocolypse). Plus pretty good science when can't get hold of much else to help power things.

  • Always immediately put ice on a burn and it will not go deeper. You can actually stop the burn completely and not have any damage... something to consider if you burn yourself a lot.

  • nice tits

  • Solar Penny - Best Prices on Solar Panels

  • What is sodering? Do you mean soldering?

  • Too small performance... you can recharge cell phone or give some energy to clock but nothing else. Think about ~500W in 230V network... good luck. Espesial in north or south fragments of this planet.

  • I really appreciate people like you two. Doing tutorials of solar panel construction at no charge to those whom are thinking of converting to solar.

Great video work and hints. A great way to stack up the pros and cons of the process.

  • Thank for all your work. You bring down the mysticism of solar panel down to a level that anyone can understand.

  • I loved this but

Can I create 500w from 60w solar panel?

If I get a solar panel consists 36 3x6" cells which produce 0.5v, 3.6amps and 1.8 watts each (Which will be total 17v and 60watts)

I need 12 volts DC to charge a battery right? and a battery gives 12 volts AC to the inverter which it converts in 500watts or whatever it's capable of.

Can I give DC 12v to inverter (Directly through inverter's + and - Terminals) to create 500w or not?

if no then is there anyway to do it?

    Thanks

  • @layfon77777 36 cells in series = 36 x .5 volts. = 18volts at 3.6 amps so you'd get 64.8 watts 36 in parallel = 36 x 3.6 amps = .5volts at 129.6 amps so you'd get 64.8 watts :-(

so you would use both, one to get the voltage up, and the other to up the amperage.

you feed 50 watts DC to an inverter you get 49.9 watts AC out. the wattage marked is they're max wattage throughput yes. you get some loss inverting it.

  • that was just soldered in series.. the Voltage is added the wattage isnt

if you connect that with with a few cells in parallel (all + ends touch, all - ends too)

the voltage remains the amperage is added up..

so 36 2.5 watt cells would be .5 volt 90 Watt <-- parallel

    36 x .5 volt 2.5 watt cells in series is18volts at 2.5 watt + 36 cells in parallel = 18 Volts @ 90 watts.. phew....

1KW kit I just seen on ebay is starting to look very very tempting at $300 +$90 shipping :-)

  • @Me102288 I saw that same 1kw kit on ebay. That kit only has a 36w solar panel, read carefully, the 1kw they mention is collected over a period of 1 week time.

  • @dw90242 must be a different one, fraud isnt allowed on ebay, 1kw = 1000 watts of cells.. and 36w x 6 hours a day x 7 days is like 2kw ;-)

they list it over 300 3x6" polycrystaline cells :-o lotta work

  • @TheLordGenerals hahaha it's exactly what I wanted to say.

  • WHAT THE FLUX IS A FLUX PEN ??

  • @indiansrus2 by using a flux pen you can create a flux capacitor

  • For the Englishman who is wigging out on the pronunciation of soldering, we wig out when you say Shedule instead of Schedule. American English is different what what?

  • How much volt or watt solar panel is required if i want to power on at least 3 computers within 24 hours period? Sorry this maybe sound novice question but i really need to know

  • @CheapAntivirus I can answer that if you look at the power supply in the case of the computer case's.

the max wattage is stuck on the power supply in the computer for instance mine is 600 watt, if I had 3 of them running it would use 1800 watts.. I have a dream buy on ebay of a 1000 watt kit, it $300 + $90 Shipping and Handling.. But it will eventually pay itself off so Its very worth it.

  • Umm ... is it just me, or is "soldering" pronounced SOUL-DER-RING ... not

"sodder-ring"??? Anyhow, that aside, love the video! Thumbs up!! :-)

  • THANK YOU for the awesome video's, im just a normal college kid and though this looked cool and wanted to try it out. You guys are alot of help :)

  • @SuperTruth77 Somehow i dont think solar cells had much to do with that guy being insane...

  • @SuperTruth77 Im not worried, I shoot back.

  • Hello there Dan

Heres another tip for you!.... solder on a Formica table top. it will help to keep the glass cell from bending and breaking. and it will help to pull the heat from the glass witch I'm sure you have noticed will break the cells in half! also use a FLAT tip on your iron and if i remember right the iron is a 84 or 86 watt .... i think... great videos!!!!! keep it up!!!

    Travis

  • dude i'm no where near america or uk... so i shouldnt bother myself bout being shot! .....

  • @xREEFERxMADNESSx You think you might be overreacting a bit?

  • @AlexTAllan . ummmm ... yeah, I'd agree that I'm definitely over reacting a tad : ) but I still wouldn't take back what I commented because I make a point, its not spelt SODER, nor is it pronounced SODER ... it annoys the shit out of me, lol, and thats pretty pathetic, but come on, it sounds retarded ... It's kinda like if I pronounced "Welder" - "Weder" or "Grinder" - "Griner" or "Safety - Safty" get my drift ?, he makes good videos, but god damn every time I heard "Soder" I cringed.

  • Oh and for the record, sorry for calling you a tard, but hearing SODER in stead of SO"L"DER is hell annoying ... but yeah, top man for making these videos ... : ) ... just practice on that SO"L"DER ... OKAY ... oh and get that woman some sexy ass lingerie, damn ! smash that gash !

  • dude thats not economical..lol a 220w cannadian solar pvpanel is 450 bucks retail..

  • @SuperTruth77 i thought they took all the guns from england like a long time ago..

which if your story is true shows why that was the worst decision the people let the government do.

Either way dont brag. tell your friends. maybe?

    i dunno.

  • I love the Bloopers !!!!! =)) GO GREENPOWERSCIENCE

  • @kevin26tx You say "YouTube is an international website what are you expecting that everyone knows English! get lost in the point" The guy can't pronounce a two syllable word SOL-DER, or HUN-DRED, I speak a bit of Polish, I don't go on Polish sites making an idiot out of myself making comments in Polish. Why did you post your comment directly to me, and not here on this page. What does "get lost in the point mean"

  • Thank you for the video

  • What is sodder? for flux sake, in lots of a hunder, It smells like alcohol don't smell them. Don't drink a lot of coffee like I did. A hunner bucks, So remember it is S-O-L-D-E-R not S-O-D-D-E-R, and H-U-N-D-R-E-D not H-U-N-N-E-R. Did he ever go to school.

  • @pathman2 ... hahaha, fucking annoying isn't he ! SODDER ! WTF MAN ! lol ... at least I'm not the only one that picks up on this ! god damn

  • Isn't there cadmium inside solar cells? Use gloves.

  • Well hello there, Denise Rojas :-D

  • 1. You could have used some gloves to not get burned by the soldering iron.

    2. You can buy cheaper solar panels off sun-elec, for $400, for the wattage you can get.

  • Basically this way you can only use it in broad daylight, its not the type where you can charge at the sun all day and use the daily charge during the night by flipping an on switch through a reserve if you understand what im trying to say in a complicated way? lol

  • So let's say the thing I want to make it for is 10 volts. I would need to make 20..But on the 20th one, what do I do with the last 2 strips dangling? And if the item I have has an AC plug, I would just cut the plug off and attach the neg to the front left dangling strip and positive wire to the back? Leave the right dangling strip in the front hanging?

  • In Canada, what kind of store or name of store would I buy those solar cells? And on the back-you only solder on the 3 white squares right? not the entire length down like the front? good video-i subbed. thanks! :) I'm trying to make a solar panel outside but very powerful fan to help blow strawberry leaves from baskets. More to it then what I said though..

  • Any guy who uses his wife's tits to make the viewer pay attention is an honorable man in my book.

  • ASK HER TO HIDE HER TITS PLEASE/ SHE IS YOUR WIFE ARENT YOU JEALOUS ,?

  • Not trying to sound negative, Despite your use of flux, I see alot of cold solder joints. your iron doesn't seem to be conducting heat well.

  • Solder has a L in it. Not sodder!!!!!!

  • I would like to see what you are gonna encase them in. Wouldnt glass cause moisture from the heat?? Would plexi-glass work better?

  • LOL, I said "HMM" at the same time your wife did!

  • You say 2 cells make 1 watt and you say 150 make 300 watts? Or 75?

  • I make mine a little different check out how I make them on my channel. I made a 12 part series I show you everything

  • im from india can i orrder online..........

  • Sweet video I'm am deff considering making one now, btw very beautiful wife

  • Soddering iron, ha ha ha

  • i find it, very amusing to masturbate.

  • Try solder paste for the back pads just dab it on then heat

  • Appreciate the help!. Will be trying this soon!...

  • Nice boobs

  • Seems to me that most are here for boobs and not panels. WTF is our world coming too?

  • Babe, you can satisfy the world's energy needs with your breasts.

  • You guys are just great !

  • soddering I have never heard that as a non US tech, I spell it 'soldering' I say it "sold-ering" not sod-dering ??

  • You you liked the video because you think this is great idea and you going to make a same one like this, YOU ARE FAIL SIR ! BOOOBSSSSSS!

  • Great video. Thanks for the info. i dont know whats up with all the weird comments.

  • oh it said you could puzzle them together with solder. Is this really possible?

  • I saw a kit that basically had broken cells and the kit said that the broken ones would still work?! I don't know anything about solar but the ones that were broken seemed to be the only way I can afford to get just about all my solar needs. Is it worth it for a novice to try and learn to piece together broken short tabbed solar cell?

  • or you could just pay for the electric

  • @FrankoTheMango or... you could RENT electricity & return it to the gods of No-Freekin-Kiddin when finished with it-or trap a Giant Panda--tricky--they're invisible to Smart People (I see them a LOT) then run a Giant Panda Hose to its ass utilizing Magical Panda Power--or maybe recycle finger-blister skin & soldering iron carcasses, make solar-paste & coat your domicile in it (retains heat, comfort & warm, cozy feelings) or you could try to refrain from Futile YouTube Remarks--As should I--LOL!

  • All kidding aside ~

I'm encouraged by the Trial & Error approach, sans the Sleek Editing. Looks like a video I'd produce (if my brain ever returns from vacation) But my wife (also pretty) might film it but never appear on cam (also, the # of blisters would increase exponentially) Am I to understand that the power output is limited only by the # of solar-cells distributed and of course whether or not the Sun is, um... sunning? Pardon my painful naiveté, I've the memory of a small rock ~

  • @MaxRaincloud yeah i was just kidding

  • I'll fuck the shit out of your wife! Hmm ( .

  • @NawffDallasz214 And making creepy comments like that is exactly what will prevent you from getting an attractive girlfriend in real life, dude.

  • @NawffDallasz214 ~ you'd wind up with hot soldering iron lodged in your wiener-hole, you insolent poster of putrefaction, you. Such rude remarks serve only to perhaps enable a few dozen YouLosers to grin and do another bong full of foolishness... I'd consider Energy-Efficient-Suicide, ASAP if I had to endure the cursed misfortune of being YOU. Okay---I'm done for now, but consider this admonition a tiny fraction of my actual disdain for people like YOU, as time and characters are much limited ~

  • @MaxRaincloud wow you use such big words, you must be really clever :)

  • lol great bloopers and all!! thanks for info~ really cool

  • I liked this video because of her breast, also i like the information.

  • boy oh boy... he has no clue how to solder properly at all

  • These guys have no clue what their doing its like theyre reading off an online diy

  • razer mamba and razer lycosa baby! and 18 tiers sounds nice there will be alot of badassery indeed (why isnt badassery in the dictionary ffs?!)?e.H.e.H.E.heheh ƒrèè - $ gamecard .. gaaaammmesstop and DDDIABlo III bEEEeEeTttAAa copy --- chEck nowww www.diablo3land.com

  • when u sawder em together y cant u just stack em then? and all this guys daughter is doin is distractin i rewined the video like 10 times just to end up lookin at her boobs

  • @policekiller305 Get English lessons.

  • @pathman2 ok, cool guy

  • @pathman2 YouTube is an international website what are you expecting that everyone knows English! get lost in the point.

  • Good job. I think use Cordless soldering (Weller portasol) is good idea for this soldering.

  • but, but, but, what is better, buy the complete solar panel or do it youselft because we need more time to soldering all the pieces. I mind costo/benefit

  • Well , from what i just experienced , by the time you buy everything involved to build a 72 cell panel , it costs about $100.00 more than just buying one already made .

  • @SuperTruth77 thanks for your concern.. but i really dont think any YouTuber should take this story into consideration

  • @SuperTruth77 Wow, that is so sad.

  • very bad welds, horribles, unwatchable.....

  • CLEAVAGE!

  • @SuperTruth77 i never heard a thing about that on the news. I don't believe it

  • Very informative video Dan and it really helps me figure out how I'm going to approach this, but when are you going to make a video on how to score a trophy wife like that? BIG DAYUM!

  • This is pretty cool! I did not know this. It makes me want to make my own solar panel.

  • Very clear instructions. Thanks so much for posting.

  • good job... "ouch" btw! definitely use a more powerful soldering iron, but watch where you pick that one up!... or a soldering iron you can dial up and down depending on what you're soldering... some things are more sensitive to higher heat... but silicon cells are not one of them. what about using flexible cells? like CIGS or some other thin film do-gooder??

  • timetofap.jpg

  • just rub them gorgeous boobs together for static electricity

  • Hi my name is MIchael dont were about other people i love whet u r doing to help out other,if u looking to shop for cheep solar power things came to my store in see if u like they thing.power-ur-world

  • on cheap side a $2 dollar solar cell = 1.75Watts. Where i live 1Kilowatt hour of electricity cost 13 cents. 2 dollars of electricity cost takes 15.4KW. or for easy to understand 1000watts for 15.4 hours. Just to make back 13 cents for that one solar cell I have to use for 571 HOURS. or say 71 days with 8 hours of sunlight(assuming nothing blocks the sun). then to equal the price of the whole cell it is 15.4*571= little over 3 years assuming again 8 hours of direct sunlight a day.(just one cell)

  • @jcn35, I could build a complete offgrid system for around 5k that would include both wind and solar. The batteries i'm buying last on average 7 yrs so that would for sure be worth it if the solar panels and wind mills last longer. every 7 yrs I will have to replace the batteries.

  • grabs the soldering iron!!!!! hahahahha

  • ya your iron was quite insufficient, that must be some really thick metal, you can be a lot more delicate using liquid rosin and a qtip to apply it rather then a pen, also make sure to clean the panel before final use.

  • Dear Sir,

If I build my own solar panels and hook it up to my ongrid electric will it actually lower my electric bill if my electric company doesn't buy it back. Please explain how this works. Sincerely, Neal

  • Comment removed

  • solar panels produce direct current, the power you get from the electric company is alternating current, so you would need to set up a battery bank and use a inverter to convert it to AC to either power the stuff thats already in your home or provide power to the grid; im not sure if the power company would actually start paying you for power generation (after your using) but it would be cool to see your meter run backwards.

  • @TheChineseEmpire It will "lower" your electric bill but it will vary by the watt's being produced. A home made solar panel can produce around 60watts of power. It will need to be converted to from DC to AC. then feed back into the grid. With that one solar panel you can power one 60Watt light bulb for the length of time it is sunny outside. So one panel would be like getting rid of one light bulb. it is cheaper to just continue to use reg coal plant energy.

  • @jcn35, ok thanks for the answer. I have done some research since then and I've heard that you can't benefit from and ongrid system that uses a net metering device that must be approved. This is because they now use smartmeters in most cities. I think it's pretty much nationwide but I've heard that you wouldn't benefit one bit from various people. I don't know if it's true. I would think there would be some benefit but that's what they say.

  • @TheChineseEmpire always do your own research but what i will say it that I am an electrical engineer. I put almost no faith in "green energy" because when I look into it the math doesn't add up. I can not say for 100% but as far as I am aware of not a single US city uses smart grid tech or smart meters. The logistics of it have no been worked out and the cost to implement this system is far to expensive. Small upgrades have been done to meters but it is a far cry from "smart meters".

  • @jcn35, your wrong about green energy I think you missed the whole point. I will build my system weather it be an offgrid or ongrid. The sun provides enough energy that hits the earth in only 1 or 2 hrs that if harnessed would power the planet for 1 year. In one year of sun energy hitting the earth there's more energy than the combined total of all earth's natural resources including uranium, crude, natural gas, and coal. So to say the math doesn't add up? see solar energy wikipedia.

  • @TheChineseEmpire that is a very vague statement. "If you could" well the truth is you can't. All you need to do is add up the entire cost of everything and see how long it takes for a pay off with the system. e.g. 2 dollar solar cell(which is what in the video) cost between 2-4 dollars a cell. each cell produces a max of 1.75watts. at my electric company rate of 13 cents per kilowatts hour of power. It will take 571 hours of direct sunlight to pay off just two dollars.

  • @jcn35 a number of communities, including mine, are using smart meters in Maine

  • To all the f**ktards making rude remarks about the lady...grow up. That's probably his wife/sister. Show some respect...

  • @DatDamnGuy

That Lady (Denise)is hot,no matter you are grown up or not;)

  • @ZoldZsolt: I understand that completely and trust me, I concur. However, I was just irritated with how some people expressed that opinion. Saying "She's pretty", sounds MUCH better then "rub them gorgeous boobs together for static electricity". Then again, I'm no one to be policing YouTube and quite frankly I say some horrendous things as well at times. But, I was entitled to an opinion in this dialog box, so I let it have it.

  • Comment removed

  • How to understand "36 panels will produce 65 Watts" or even what Dan was talking about 300W, per what time is that produced? Hour? Day? month? 300W per month would be way too useless, cause you may spend about 200-300kWh per month.

  • they look like porn stars,

  • Breasts!

  • Solar panels produce direct current, right? I would like to cover my roof in these, and plug them into an inverter to turn it into alternating current, and then supplement my electrical usage and maybe put electricity back into the grid and get money from the power company instead of having to pay them. Think it's possible?

  • @davidlightsnack depends on your power company's politics about this issue. in general, they wouldn't be happy to loose a lot of moeny on you. don't forget that you need a lots of money to set it up in first place. PV panels aren't cheap, yet, just cause the same reason, nobody wants you to have free power.

  • great video

  • Your a lucky boy Dan - making your own panels is cool ;)

  • Learn how to make your own solar panels step by step for under $200 a panel! solarsjunkie. com

  • I strung over 1000 of these together in basically the same fashion for our college's entry into SunRayce '99. We had a form, like you mention, to line up the cells and space them about 1.5mm apart. For large numbers, we found it most efficient to tab the tops first, then string them in the form, soldering the tabs to the bottom. I think we used solder-bearing paste instead of flux pen and solder separately. Keep in mind, when you build your own panel, the worst cell limits the entire string.

  • thanks this was very helpful

  • What's the life time on it?

  • I'll take the 36 double D's any day over the 61 watts.

  • oh my god look at the electricity the 36 D's are creating , what do i put between to double the energy LOL

  • <
