Hey Frank, you could cut the leaves off where it meets the fruit instead of cutting the fruit section. It should ripen if you leave it in room temp. It worked in Malaysia at least, I'm not sure about up here though. I don't think I'll be trying pineapples anytime soon, I've a limited supply of growth regulators. =/ Btw, would other bromeliads need as much NAA? I have one(with 3 not so small babies growing from it) downstairs that I got free from the nursery since they wanted to throw it away.
