I heard this when i first started listning to AM back in 08. thought they were fantastic. but now i've gotten older and I really appreciate these guys as musicians. i recently just got all their b-sides and singles off EP's and stuff. alex can be up there as one of the best musicians and song writers. AM is just simply tops right now though, and their only 25 years old which is remarkable.

As good as the beatles?... we will see when their done making music

@xDreamTheater92 I like indie and metal. They are both genres I respect. You can't know how good a guitarist he is because his genre does not allow him to show his skills off as much as metal can. Obviously he is not at Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai etc standard's but thats because he is not trying to be an amazing guitarist he just wants to play a couple of chords.

Alex turner isn't amazing skill-wise at guitar. However, he is a great songwriter (one of the best in my opinion), is good at coming up with catchy chord patterns, and can sing and play well. Now dont think i'm hating on the arctic monkeys, because they are by FAR my favorite band. Just saw them last night, it was awesome

I have to disagree, I think it has to do with confidence more than skill. I do think Alex is a more accomplished guitarist than Jamie, but I wouldn't put him down so easily, just watch him in songs like "The View from the Afternoon", he plays those fast chord changes confidently and easily.
