  • what have got here? weve got here a----(silence) xD your awesome dude

  • Awesome sound....terribly damaged though

  • Watching this video makes me sad that I sold my old MIM strat. I miss that strat sound. :(

  • lol, wow that thing you did with your fingers before you started talking about the guitar was awesome. I'm gonna try it on my '53 tele now. :P

  • Hey, I wanted to buy a reissue of the 1962 strat are they custom shop made as well? How do i know if its good quality?

  • culo

  • what amp lead to you use? i use pihrana's and there great leads but they lack in keeping the fuzz off, what leads would you recommend

  • NICE FENDER THANKS

  • @civicbud Thanks for the answer, well i've bought a fender stratocaster anyways so, im happy with it. I shouldn't call myself a novice guitarist, but i don't own many guitars. I own two electric guitars, ibanez rg320pg, and a fender stratocaster american deluxe -04, and im happy with them. Now i know that a fender stratocaster was a good choice to my "guitar collection" haha =)

  • Do stratocasters get out of tune a lot?

  • i wanna get one

  • Was anyone else remotely reminded of Jimmy Page at some point during his playing?

  • Nothing beats the sound of a good Strat!!

  • i was gunna say Don't forget about John Frusciante...someone beat me to it

  • Dude, I love your energy, keep it up(:

  • What kind of pickups does this strat have?

  • Nothing better then the sound of a good ol' Fender.

  • I spend 3000+ on a guitar that motherf*cker better be spotless hahahah

  • REALLY NICE GUITAR!

  • is there something lovable about the Roland Cube 30 that keeps it in service for for all these reviews?

  • The only thing good about it is I don't have to carry my amps into the studio because I have a rotten back. I use to carry Twins and Super Reverbs and they basically ruined me. I think the amp that did the worst damage was the Acoustic 150 with the tall 4x12 Altec cabinet. I use to hoist that up with my two skinny arms and carry it myself. It had to be 80 to 90 lbs. AH but what a sound! Thunder with the Les Paul!

  • @johnhguitar Seems a bit contradictory to the opinions you expressed on the Cube in other videos.

  • Maybe so but for the reviews the amps ok. Looking at it through the eyes of the instrument it wants only the best and what's that?

  • IF only I had the money to buy this, I don't like relics tho, I would love a brand spankin new one... it sounds amazing.

  • Love stratocoaster can you reccomend some thing under 2000$

  • Wow !! I cant believe you could be this humorous with a guitar ! WOW ... amazing

  • great as usual john but how about through a fender amp next time bud

  • awesome I got a Japanese 1984 Sahler bridge 1 Fender Stratocaster

  • for sale???

  • john locke

  • Hi, nice tone! Such great guitars, have a listen to mine in Black! Love the fat 50s.

  • well, since I play Jazz, and Rock, and when i'm at home....... I play Doom metal/ grindcore haha made me laugh :D

  • hand made fender custom shop strat? kinda funny idea. Its a bolt together guitar! so it being hand made doesn't seem to be on the same plane as a hand made les paul! although i prefer playing fender strats/teles. but a "hand made custom shop strat"? you don't need to be that skilled of a luthier to bolt and screw the parts together then bat it up a little to make it look old..... what a joke. rick people who waste money buy this crap.

  • It sounds a lot brighter than my 46 year old 64 Strat.

  • imagine the Fender business model that compared the profit from making lots of vintage-design strats at a reasonable cost for everybody to only making a limited run and charging $7000 apiece -

  • Isn't that what they did?

  • yes, right, as you said - FenderCo. gets more money for less work

Thanks for putting up these nice demo vids - I love guitar sound, and like a lot of guys who never studied music I tend to fetishize the instruments themselves - it's great fun to witness a pro guitarist show them off

  • does Fender make a Rory Gallagher custom Strat reissue? It would look exactly like it had been left in a ditch in Ireland for 6 weeks :)

  • Yes, the custom shop does!

  • How awkward would it be to be showing off your reliced strat to someone when a guy who has the exact same model shows up behind you with the exact same scratch marks and everything. That would be fucking hilarious.

  • I kinda get the feeling at times that fenders "handmade" is just stripped down as far as they can to the point where the only handmade is picking up the plank and walking over to the next mechine to hit another button...

  • fuck , he is a funny guy :D

  • Yes! Tell him it's a John English Fender Relic. You think I'm funny? A huge great big fat guy stumbled into a bar I was gigging at, looks up at me and says, 'Play the neck!'

  • Are you sure this is the 64 Strat Relic Ltd.? I own one - the chocolate burst, which is one of the 3 finishes they are supposed to be in (the other 2 being white and black)....and that guitar certainly doesn't look like a chocolate burst. I'm wondering if this isn't the 60 Strat Relic Ltd....

  • You forgot about Frusciante.

  • Would you like to make a review about the scalloped Ynwie Malmsteen Strat ? That would be interesting. Thank you John

  • your vibrato technique is excellent

  • i wish i had a strat but i cant complain about my tele can i

  • @tomleech92 You can if you want to...

  • not really, sounds so sweet, tho the stock next pick up can be a little hit and miss

  • nah... tele is a great guitar.. it is a keeper XD

  • i like tele's but i dont think their for me if im honest. i crave that sweet stratocaster sound

  • it will not hurt to get a strat!! strats are great guitars..get an american strat

  • i would if i had a job. thats the whole reason i dont have a strat, a good amp or a decent pedal board.

  • someday you will as long as you focus to what you really want to get.

  • thank you man <3

  • @09kitty23 yea, i have an american standard

  • Can we visit the Fender factory in Corona?

  • Got one in black... Amazing strats.

  • hey ive alwways wondered do you ever use a pick because your picking technique is very cool.

  • For the first thirty years I only used a flat pick. I now bounce around between no pick, thumb pick, and flat pick......

  • John: You are doin' pinky bends! What,

    did you catch flak??

  • They are worn because unless you are a professional musician who travels and plays gigs all the time your guitar will never look like that.

Did I hear some Albert King? :-D

Question: Did you ever learn to play with a guitar pick or did you learn playing with just your fingers?

  • I can see the need for them, if you are an aging musician and a legend in rock, it would look odd to wield a brand new bass. they have the Mexican strats now that are "road worn" and much less expensive, about 600 bux I think. They look like solid instruments. I have a USA strat deluxe, 04, with plenty of real life road wear.

  • An aging musician can't use a brand shiny new guitar?

I don't understand why but people like these road worn instruments. Fair enough, it's matter of taste.

  • Just wanted to let you know that I'm a big fan and have watched most of your videos. You are a very smart person and seem to know a lot about the style you play.

I watched your SG review video and a good question popped up in my head. How did a blues man like you ever decide to learn to shred? Is it for showing off or did you use to like a different style of music?

I really liked it and it surprised me.

    Thanks

  • can you tell me about strings diameter? for a tele and for a strat. .09 or .10?

  • 11s for me sound really really really excellent, and they aren't too hard to play.

  • its a beauty.....

  • 1:27 to 1:35 you should make a tutorial on how to do that, everytime i try it sounds horrible.

  • I like fenders but they're just so much money. But their resale value always go up with age.

  • in australia gibsons are heaps more expensive than fenders

  • Same over here,I've seen some going for 10,000 dollars.

  • well in my guitar shop ive seen one going for 30000 oounds about 60000 dollars lol

  • I LOVE Fender Guitars 5/5

  • ohmygoshhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

  • look like what?

  • Like already used and damaged, it's like buying a new crashed car more or less.

  • Why do people buy ripped jeans?

  • Because they have money and they think It looks cool?

  • Exactly. Sorry, I know my comment is not very popular but I just find this quite silly.

Give me a reissue guitar with no faked scratches.

  • To tell you the truth, i find it silly too, but i guess its like ripped and/or sand blasted jeans.

  • cause it makes her look like a vintage instrument.

  • I understand now why there is a market for this king of product. :)

  • why has this comment got -7 thumbs???

  • sounds great

  • i love how you play :)
