  • @eisha2ryo311 you're welcome!

  • Mine won't scrunch either :(

  • @caninlon hmm. another tip for making the elastic thread scrunch, after all the rows have been sewn, take a spray bottle and mist the area with water, and then iron it very lightly. the thread will scrunch right up!

  • Wow thanks alot!

  • @brieea you're welcome!

  • I've followed your instructions..elastic thread on bottom, normal on top..longest stitch, high tension...but its just not happening for me?! It just comes out as a normal straight stich, no elasticity at all...any ideas what im doing wrong??

    xxx

  • @b00tilicious hmm, did you make sure to back stitch at the beginning? if you don't, the elastic will just pull right through and won't scrunch

  • @soreribsin I"m having the same problem!! I made a dress and it's barely elastic-y. It looks right and good but it feels tight when I try to get it over my head. When I backstick my feed dog doesnt move correctly or something and my needle hits it and breaks...i broke three needles in a row before I decided to quit backstitching.

  • @madammorgo ooh breaking needles is never fun. if back stitching doesn't work, you can always leave long thread tails when you begin, and just double knot the threads to keep it from unravelling, and do the same at the end of each row. if it comes out too tight, you can always do a few test lines on a scrap piece of fabric and try tightening or loosening the thread tension, and see what works the best

  • @soreribsin Ok thanks! Hopefully I can get it figured out. Yes, breaking needles is the worst :(

  • Well done! Your tutorials are great. Thanks!
