  • I looooove the we shall remain-series, but where can i get the soundtrack of it?? the music is just amazing!!!

  • My favorite of the We Shall Remain series!

  • Great Series. One of the most interesting people in History, as far as I am concerned. Thanks for upload.

  • I visit his monument in Canada where he died, he is a hero, JimmyC

  • I remember you Tecumseh. I can't imagine how unfair it was; your living in a region for thousands of years, the land of your ancestors then suddenly whites show up and act all rude to you and steal food and land from you. Your outnumbered and outpowered. Your last hope is to stand together or die alone. You almost made it. Almost. You died fighting for your people. I admire you, and I remember your heroic actions. RIP.

  • My mother saved indian burial mounds in jefferson township ohio against jewish led spraw Les wexner. In Jefferson township we honor and ask for you for forgiving the few of us that came later and helped in todays world to stop the jewish destruction of people.

  • I read many of ur commentaries & I would like to bring some objectivity in it. I'm french, I'm white but I don't despise or intend to kill anyone who's not from my country. I respect every living being & I think everybody can live in peace together. I'm really sad about what the1st europeans did to the native americans but I do respect them and I hope that one day the racism will end and that they will gain all the respect they deserve.

  • I take comfort in the fact that history will always serve the truth, and in Tecumseh's case, has rightfully and deservingly served his visionary ideals well. His unwavering resistance and unity, his dignity and principles to his people and those who empathize and understand. And yes I feel we all need to heed his call now more than ever...

  • how can any people stand against white man s patriarchy- which keeps white woman having 14 children to feed the war machine- weapons factories- settlers who got land if the MAN had 10 surviving children- woman not get land for producing the children-war was won by the cforced pregnancies and births of white woman-no war is worth win at cost of such human torture of the women and her starving children- yeah capitalism born of "good" christians-go forth multiply by talk not marital raping mothers

  • @lmollot White people don’t seem to understand why their spiritual, family and social life is in such a mess. Whites are under a terrible curse because they went around the world killing and stealing land from people and calling it their country. One day I visited a slingers club just to see how immoral whites are. It is the most disgusting place I have every been to. It’s a shame to see people behaving in that manner and this is what whites call freedom. 99% of the porn has whites acting.

  • even the one that fought him had resepedlook at the town school name for him; he is a folk hero in cando the us naval ac hasa a sta of him; and tecumesehas curse that the prisdent will died ever 20 years the first was harrison (read what he said about tecumes

They moved to Hoquiam Wa. where he became chief of police.

  • the greatest native american that ever lived. they really need to make a blockbuster movie about his life. he is truly an inspiration! great documentary

  • Washington DC and other states like NY are currently going back on the Treaty of 1794 which effects many tribes in NY the impact it would have across the USA as our own elected officials greed grows higher & higher Washington is getting its hands deeper and deeper into our pocket books all because of one thing MONEY I see that the USA is on the brink of Civil unrest from time to time the tree needs to be shaken.

  • @whiskeygurl70 I am waiting for the civil unrest and I hope it spreads to Canada.

  • Why did The Creator, God , allow the Native People's lands to be taken is unknown. I don't know why. I support and respect all people. But it was not right for this to happen

    Respect Faith

  • @yasudab1 iits all part of the plan man......certain things have to happen i guess for other things to happen

  • @yasudab1 this is not a quetion to be asked...no answer will ever come. why did G-d allow the Holocaust of the jews, millions & millions. almost every gypsy.

its not about g-d allowing such things, it took me yrs to learn...we have free will...god allows us that free will, & &&& allows us to express it. including the evil aktions.

  • I find him to be most remarkable

  • he was crushed. his movement failed. the dream is dead. get over it.

  • @agricola fck u. the dream i not dead. go listen to other music. leave us alone

& i am not--in this lifetime anyway--native amerikan... jsut when did yr famly come over to Amerika. u are immigrants, i am, & will never be considered original & rightful Amerikans...how in the world did we decide that the earth can be owned>? thousands of yrs ago.& that idea was brouht to this land, where th pple here had no such idea. there was room for everyone to live. eat. srvive. but GREED. take it all.

  • @agricola The Sacred Hoop is not broken,I don't know why the 'Great Mystery'allow this to happen. Its a mystery, only He knows.I wil go now and sing a sacred song and offer corn pollen to the four-direction.For your info the entire Universe is also sacred, as well as "Mother Earth".Signed; Navajo Medicine Man.

  • WHO SINGS THE SONG IN THE BEGINNING HERE ???

  • Tecumseh was not ahead of his time but in the moment.

  • @TribalScout1491 exacly. & may we all be In The Moment in such a way...in the moment every day, his spirit remains , though, in this moment. we are all one, all one spirit. he is part of the Source, the Great 0ne, as we all are....so if we are open & aware, we know he is here with us, a part of us, in OUR "in this moment:....

  • A great American Leader and the archetypal "Warrior"....

  • one day we will rise only to fall again mybe if we figth as one people we will win a great war this in this one time we will stand as one but that is only my dream we can make a stand for the past wrongs as the white's will keep taking ti'll there nuthing left to take we are few but we are great race of people we stand alone and as we did we where feared but if we stand as one every will fear they still fear us to this day

  • So basically tecumseh was a total badass

  • @AguilaComandanteDGO EXACTLY, They always wanna change the past for their advantage. He was not american but he was just a great humanbeing.

  • It's Michael Greyeyes! I love him he's such a great actor.

  • netflix... on my roku box. that little box has taught me so much! this show was so heavy, we need a whole history of indians. they were so mistreated, lied to, and deceived. big up the the warrior rebels who didn't follow the status quo. too bad massachusa didn't fight the very first day.

  • netflix... on my roku box. that little box has taught me so much! this show was so heavy, we need a whole history of indians. they were so mistreated.

  • I downloaded this when it was first out and burnt it to DVD format so i can watch it freely

  • You know we go on about the different versions of history that the British and Americans have but the British kept meticulous military records, the Americans; sensational stories for the newspapers and the native americans.....told the stories to their children. Have you ever done that exercise where you whisper something around a circle and it comes back to you completely different. Native stories have a basic truth but are almost always embellished with lots of buffalo shit.

  • @perryfan10 But most of the newspapers are filled with propaganda.

So its not making a difference between telling tales around circle or newspapers with propaganda ^^

  • @Kaboosez A good point. I notice Fox news is really twisted too. I once did something that made all the nearby papers and TV channels. The TV channels all got the story wrong and only one newspaper did a good job of getting the story right. Did you not watch the Olympic opening ceremonies? Tecumseh and the British did win the war of 1812 and while some tribes are really poor, others are very prosperous. It's still about leadership.

  • The HMS Nancy was raised from the river bottom and the remains are preserved in a nice museum at Wasaga Beach Ontario.

  • The battle of Plattsberg was a complete and utter defeat of American forces ,They were met with Natives, French and English irregulars as well as some British troops.

Without Tecumseh It would be doubtful that we would of won the battles in the Niagra area.

From Ny to Vermont there are forts still standing on the Canadian and American side from the war of 1812 .

American aggression was met with the full measure, without Tecumseh we would

    of probably lost the war.

  • @dave777blaster Have you heard the story of the Americans sinking the HMS Nancy? It is pretty cool but seems to be conveniently forgotten by american history books.

  • Tell me about it

  • @dave777blaster Americans discover Nancy hidden on Nottawasaga river. Varying accounts of how it was sunk but remaining British crew follows the two American warships over 300 miles in a couple of row boats across Lake Huron (what?) and captures the two ships in a surprise attack. It doesn't get any better than that.

  • He told Brock how to defeat the Americans in 1812 war.

    Brock listened to him

    He is a Canadian hero

Brock died in the war he was given

    a hero's funeral

Tecumseh also died but he died in an unmarked grave in an unknown location.

Most Canadians have no idea who he even is.But in 1812 With the Canadians he defeated America soundly .Only in American History books where the apologists write their fairy tales will you find a different story.

Tecumseh A Canadian Hero long ago but not forgotten

  • Magnifique indeed

  • see yesterday a tv french MAGNIFIQUE!!!

  • Tecumseh died as a hero in Canada, he fought when the British ran away and he stayed and fought, he wanted freedom for his people

  • I am mexican and ashamed, that the us and mexican goverment fought against the first native american settlers and just like the spanish who came in 1492,rip apart our cultures and myths, I always admire geronimo for his courage, all through his surrender. Malditos Capitalistas!!

  • I know exactly where this clip comes from. Do you honestly think Tecumseh and his followers would see this as an honor?? Personally, I think it's tacky and insensitive. The flag of the Shawnee nation sure, but the American flag? I think PBS could have done without it....

  • How insulting it is to see a tepee with an American flag at the end of this clip. Talk about American brainwashing, ignorance, and arrogance! Shame on PBS! Tecumseh was NOT an American. He hated to see the American flag raised throughout his lands! In fact, he should not even be called a "Native American", for that hyphenated title would have offended him greatly. He was of the SHAWNEE NATION who fought AGAINST the Americans and their way of life!

  • The American flag is only representative of the show that honored not only Tecumseh in this series but many great native leaders...it's called American Experience.

  • HE not only hated Americans he defeated them too

  • Oh by the way, James Cameron stole the history of Tecumseh and his brother Tenskwatawa for his movie Avatar.

  • Who cares, I'm just glad the movie's out there and I hope it continues to be huge. The more people are aware the better.

  • Dude I've been looking for this song! The best documentary ever!

  • "So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours.Love your life, perfect your life beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place.

  • Show respect to all people and grovel to none. When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.

  • When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home."

    Chief Tecumseh, Shawnee Nation

  • i read that tecumseh dirent like mestiz ...i been precident for d native american n aboriginals in autralia ...iam mestiz ...

  • Tecumseh - Greatest Native American Leader of his Time! {1768 - 1813}

I watched this on Pbs lastnight and was moved by it!

  • Why is it that Tensketawa gets so much credit for the "vision" when it was Tecumseh that actually had the "visions" and the precognition? Tenketawa was a little twit, a punk a ruse of a "prophet" yet these so called historians always give Tensketawa the undeserved credit.

  • I get a sense that the American view of Tecumseh is a tragic sad story while the Canadian view is more upbeat.

  • For anyone interested in Tecumseh, I have a video Footsteps of Tecumseh on my channel page. I followed places he'd been and took pictures and videos such as his birthplace at the natural spring and Prophet's Rock.

  • Tecumseh is an honored hero in Canada for helping defeat the American forces in the war of 1812.

  • Is that still true?

  • I'm not sure if kids get as much history in school now but Tecumseh's warriors played a big part in preserving Canada against the invading Americans.

  • I ask because I'm currently tracing down stories and info about my family member/ancester. So, do you know if the majority of Canada knows or cares about Tecumseh or just the Windsor, ON area? Anything you could tell me would be helpful. How does Canada perceive historical Tecumseh? We never learned that down here in Ohio. Is it a big deal or just passing history? Thanks for the responses. :-)

  • Let me contact a friend in our nations capital for an unbiased opinion. Wikipedia states: Tecumseh has become a folk legend and is regarded by many Canadians as a hero for the defense of their country. I guess "many " would qualify as a big deal.

  • I contacted a teacher at a prestigious private boarding school in Port Hope, Ontario. Two of her grade 10 students were from the States and were shocked to learn that Tecumseh was a hero here and that we taught that he helped win the war of 1812. The American version says they won based on a battle won against the british in the southern states after the war was already over.

  • Thanks much for the info. I'm in contact with the Tecumseh, ON Historical Society, and I have more new info I'm tracing down now. I also have a claim on Tecumseh's tomahawk-peacepipe from both ends of it; it was Tecumseh's which he gave to his good pioneer friend James Galloway. I am both families as was he; he didn't know he was also a Galloway by his maternal grandmother. I'm putting Canadian pieces together now with American. Found a lead on the real burial here in Ohio, too. Thanks!

  • I'm not sure that a town that renamed itself Tecumseh in 1912 is the authority on Tecumseh. I've never been there. Niagara Falls, Ontario, has always been the important historical point for the war of 1812 and where there is a lot of references to Tecumseh.

  • I don't know about the renaming, but the significance is that the battle where Tecumseh died was somewhere around there. Their forces had been pushed north from Ohio into Detroit and across into current-day Canada. Tecumseh's mother died in a freak accident in Detroit as a very old lady, in her 90s by estimate, while Tecumseh's group fought and lost there in the area of Tecumseh, ON. It's said that his body is buried on Walpole Island, but that must be the body double. Investigating...

  • South of Montreal the Americans met their defeat on a grand scale

Though the Niagara Falls area had the decisive battle.

  • The difference is that Americans are taught the

    fairy tales written by Apologists.

They will teach that the Battle of New Orleans was decisive but in fact that did not take place until the war was over .

and they gloss over the fact that Washington was burned to the ground

They do not give full details of the battles south of Montreal

Where so many fine young Americans lost their lives.

Tecumseh is Responsible more than anyone else for the treaty of Ghent Indian provisions

  • @dave777blaster I see wikipedia says the Americans ignored provisions the British negogiated for the natives. What was the battle south of Montreal called? I seem to recall that the Six Nations had a big part in that battle.

  • This was a great doc.

  • I have just watched the second part of "We Shall Remain". I have enjoyed learning about the American Indian. The American Indian has so many times been misrepresented.

  • The native Shawnees did have horses and the theft of horses was a big area of dispute between the whites and natives. The Prophet was nothing more than a puppet of Tecumseh. It was Tecumseh who had the visions and told them to The Prophet to pass off as his own. As is obviously seen at Tippecanoe, The Prophet was false and Tecumseh was the power behind him.

  • Let's all take a page from Tecumseh's playbook, all races, ethnicities, First Nation and other native born, and rise up in unity against a government that is made up of greedy power-mongering politicians, Left and Right, who are destroying the country and, frankly, don't care about anyone but themselves. Rise up, everyone!

  • @JuliaB1955

Right there with you! We have just got a new PM and all the things he promised he hasn't done they don't give a dam about the hard working people only the well off people that live in the main part of London. Like you said most governments are ruled by greedy and power-mongering politicians. I do hope these people will remain they are great people and probably the only ones who have leaders that actually care.

  • @JuliaB1955 Im from egypt i live in the states and i see how whites are racist to natives and i swear to god any white ass i see abusing any natives would think twice, i cant imagine how these ppl are hearltess they kill natives steal their lands and then calld them the what so called "savages" which they were not at all, i would fight for the natives rights...

  • @ashiinsane90 I’m from Indian and I have lived in many provinces of Canada and I have seen how whites discriminate against native. The suicide rate among native teens is very high because these kids don’t have anything to look forward to in life. Their blood is upon the whites who are already under a terrible curse. No white will give natives jobs and some teens have told me this is the reason they don’t finish school. A refugee in Canada has more rights and privileges that a native.

  • I love the music. Does anyone know if it is authentic?

  • If you're on facebook, visit the Tecumseh page and become a fan of Tecumseh!

  • They make the Shawnee tribe look like Apaches

  • I love the real American people from north to south..and my mapuche people :'( I love them so much.

  • yes,...

  • eastern woodland tribes dident have horses.

  • We should all still unite......NOW.

  • I would have fought along-side this great leader,if I was born at that time.We should have all united.

  • Im from Finland and I saw this document. When I watch this I really hoped that british and Tecumseh would won, but still I knew it never happened.

I really imagined free, independence indian country. Americans owe one country for indians for all those crimes what they have done for them. Really hope indians would get their own country in the future.

  • @Kaboose666 oli muuten hyvä dokkari. I wonder why there is no such great leaders nowadays. There surely would be use of Tecumseh's wisdom, courage and his just way of thinking. And leadership also of course.

  • @Aripekkari

    Nice hair!

  • @Aripekkari Well we dont have anymore so much situations where great warleaders, politicans are needed... Americans said they are sorry what they did to the indians back then few weeks ago, if you havent heard... But they are not going to give anything back to the indians what they stole from em...

  • @Aripekkari

What is the brand of your shampoo?

  • @Aripekkari

I'm sure the guys who attacked you in your videos are homophobic.

  • @Kaboose666 the indians wont ever get shit aide from diabetes, a bottle of jack and an early grave

  • @agricola We shall see... Sometimes there can rise something unexpected and it can chance everything. I really hope that indians will have their own land where they can live like they did or live as they want... USA still owe one country for them.

  • @clearpath1334 I would fight for him tomorrow. some leaders speak to and lead long after their deaths. I believe he meant for his words to echo through the centuries and that he was speaking to us now as much as he was to the people then.

  • If there were only a million more like him during that era History would of been different.

Because of Native men like him Native men like

    me are still here.

  • Amazing.
