Thank you. This was very helpful. I have very soft fingers, small hands and wrists of an 8 year old. Trying to play the guitar has been a very painful experience for me.

I was begining to think that guitar playing was not for me.

Thanx for the excellent advice!!

I had to learn the hard way with wrist pain buy playing my

12 string around the first couple of frets lying down, it totally messed up my wirst !!

I did this because I have a problem miss-picking the strings and it was easier to see the strings. My guitars body is VERY wide, so when I stand up it's really hard to see the strings on my fret hand and my pick hand ;(

I just have to get used to playing with proper posture.
