I agree completely, these gloves rock, they are way better then the competition.
Have them for a few years now, used them in all weather, the leather is still great, only the grippy palm fake suade is tearing holes, but you can't really feel it on the grips.
The price is good as well, they bridge the gap between "pussy foam padding" tourer gloves and "full on power ranger" sport models brilliantly.
Hope they keep on making them, in a few years when they are done I'm getting another pair...
I own these gloves. Bought them at the end of summer (pennsylvania) so I can't comment on how they hold up in hot weather. I've tried on at least 5 pairs of gloves. These really conform to you hand & they are awesome on the bike. It was the max I could spend on a glove $80ebay & I really wanted to move up to a gauntlet glove after 3 riding seasons. Great feel & definitely lots of protection. Hope to hit the tracks next summer. One of my best gear purchases to date (besides Sidi B-2 boots).
Im looking to get a 100 to 150 dollar Long cuff design glove for street riding, I want to know does this glove have ventilation and are they bulky, and what do you recommend glove in this price range, thats a long glove with ventilation and not to bulky. thanks
I too am looking for some first hand comments on the SP-1's ventilation. I already have Alpine's Storm Rider gloves (essentially a race gauntlet with a gore-tex lining) for cold / wet weather, and have been considering the SP1 for hot weather.
I called STG and they told me to buy the RS Taichi GP-1 over the Astar SP-1, So i purchased it and i thought it was awsome, felt good, But i wanted a bigger cuff on the glove so i returned them and got RS Taichi GP-WRX, i havent got them yet but when i do i'll let you know how they are.

I have the previous generation version of the SP-1's. Good glove. Not that I have any other brands to compare it to.
