The entire vehicle was modified to handle to power.......love it!

@rex3453 The STI's transmission is extremely strong - and can handle 500+ WHP. You are probably still referring to the transmission out of the 02-05 WRX which was known for breaking under fairly high HP loads.
@rex3453 The 2004-2005 STI (All STI's in fact) use a six speed versus the WRX which has always utilized a 5 speed. The 6 Speed in the STI is a very tough transmission whereas the WRX's 5 speed became known for being more brittle.

The VE Commodore / Pontiac G8 and any other planned variants like the Chev Caprice are on the Zeta platform. Completely different.

its a monaro, from AUSTRALIA, that's what it starts as before the design is shipped overseas and becomes pontiac and vauxhall, it has twice the cylinders, almost over 2x the displacement, 1/2 the doors and drives half as many wheels with that extra 100hp, yes they both have their merits but really, it just follows the typical American design principle, rear wheel drive, lots of power, goes good in straight line, the sti has just been designed for more than dragging, its a much better car...

Take the GTO's engine and 6 speed and place it in a 1997 Nissan 240SX and it will smoke Vette's. I know, I own one and it's a 11 sec. quarter mile. Add in a custom cold air intake and header with a single exhaust and it's a sleeper to the core. Open it up and then the music begins and everyone wants to know what's under the hood. The entire vehicle was modified to handle to power.......love it!

The GTO is a rebadged Holden Monaro. It is a 2 door version of the Holden Commodore, designed and built in Australia, not Canada.
Pontiac had fuck-all to do with it. Holden slapped a Pontiac badge on it and put it on a ship bound for the USA.

@POPtheoriginal wouldn't be well over 500 with cam and bolt ons, you're looking at no more than 450 to the wheels..i have full bolt ons and dynoed at 400 rwhp which is where almost every full bolt on goat is at and a cam is going to give it no more than 50. but still your right id take a gto anyday, I may be biased because I have one, daily drive it everyday, and I love it but I even test drove an sti before I bought the goat, didn't even come close to it.

Throw on alky injection, shorten the waste gate rod and you can get 20# of boost and deep into the 12's. @rex3453 The STI's transmission is extremely strong - and can handle 500+ WHP. You are probably still referring to the transmission out of the 02-05 WRX which was known for breaking under fairly high HP loads.

@rex3453 The 2004-2005 STI (All STI's in fact) use a six speed versus the WRX which has always utilized a 5 speed. The 6 Speed in the STI is a very tough transmission whereas the WRX's 5 speed became known for being more brittle.
