  • I wouldn't attempt to compare God to a evil dictator. That would show no understanding of God.

  • okay thx for answearing :)

but i still think it's a bit wierd. Every person should live their life as they want, not follow some rules written in an old book noone can prove is either right or wrong, and it's wrong to jugde somone for example to hell just because they are for example homosexual.

Just some of my thoughts :)

  • I didn't say that, nor imply the homosexual aspect in the video. In fact the Bible has a lot of history behind it, a lot of effort to disprove it from a historical or religious document, a lot of effort but not a lot of success. There are many older books that people respect, accept, with less study, and less effort to disprove it. I would recommend a book by Josh McDowell, Evidence that demands a verdict, or any Lee Strobel books, can probably find stuff here on YouTube if interested

  • just a bit silly question.

so by the word you said so god loves us weather we don't believe in him or not?

It's a bit strange for an almighty "creature" to "demand" to be loved and believed in or else he sends you too hell.

    sorry for my bad english.

  • God don't demand to be loved, he gives us a choice tolove or not love. As to sending people to hell, he don't send them to hell, each person makes their own choice there as well. If you know that you will get a speeding ticket if you speed, and you speed, then you are at fault and should accept the consequences for your actions. Same for hell, if we know hell is what is awaits us without Jesus, then that is our decision. As to english, don't worry about it.

  • Rather blackmail.

  • Blackmail would imply that you are getting something you deserve, or that something is being held over your head, poor definition of blackmail

  • Yup, like most totalitarian rules. Follow us or else... hmm we'll put you in a special place.

    That's demagogy.

    Anyways, have fun.

  • And who exactly gets to set up the rules, is it you, the people, popular vote? I challenge rules have been set up by God, but then again, I don't know what any of this has to do with the video other than another person opposed to the concept of God??? But, maybe I am wrong there, but the answer to the establishment of rules, or if we even have rules is answered.

  • Firstly, no one tells me what to do, so the way I live my life is my case. I'm not telling you, you'll go somewhere bad, if you just disagree or see it as improper for you. No rules implied by anything nor anyone mystical.

We humans make rules, same as we made god.

    Peace.

  • So you would say there are no absolutes?

  • The world and the universe are rather neutral themselves and we're not the center of it, how we see it that's the way it'll be for us. We could do so much if people just realised we are a race, a specie. People are so self-important they like to think they derived from something supreme just because we're on the top of the food chain. We're semi-civilized, we're not there yet.

That's why there's so much voilence around coming from different sources.

  • that still doesn't answer the question though regarding your thoughts on absolutes???

  • I wouldn't say absolute. I rely more upon John Keat's 'negative capebility', I embrace what I don't know. I admit I don't know, I'm not qualified to know. I don't believe it is a supreme being or anything we have imagined, it's beyond us, at this moment. I do think we as humans will know more about the universe rationally. I lean to empiricism.

I consider myself as a strong atheist, though I do not group myself with them, I do not see myself having the same views beyond not believing in a deity.

  • Also would you detail how we made God? Humans can't even make peace, can't even create simple life forms, how can we create a God?

  • To give you detailed facts about the origins of relgion I would have to be an antropologist, which I am not. You can read different books on the beginning of civilizations, primitive tribes. People just filled things within their heads what they could not understand. Now, we don't believe in most gods that were older than christianity. Just because we know more, the more we know the less room for delusional imagination. It doesn't concern itself with truth, but rather comfort.

  • But this is to deny the historical accuracy and research, much from archeological studies related to aspects of Christianity. The research, verification and so forth adds to and gives credibility to Christianity, Judism, and Islam more than many other religions, also another specific regarding some of this is not just historical proofs but other research, as well as personal, and eye witness evidence. Few if any other religion is documented like the three mentioned above.

  • It evolved itself as it went, people started writing it down. Islam, Judaism, Christianity are the one that evolved the most. It was common in those days for people to believe in a supreme being, concept of atheism was hardly ever accepted. Religion was a part of history, doesn't mean, it is true as a fact. Look how strangely concepts of one religion evolved in to more spin-offs. I treat it as a political way of keeping people in order.

  • The three above did not evolve, they are in one way or another linked but not evolved other than the different teachings among the three which have to be held in contrast to each other. Christianity on the other hand is uniquely different, and contrary to most all other religions that is based on salvation or relationship with God on what what you do, as opposed to Christianity salvation or relation to God based only on relation to the person of Jesus, not a evolution but a transformation.

  • I disagree, I think it evolved over those 2000 years for example into what we have today. Plus Christianity wasn't always spread with love and peace, often with blood. And any member of a religion group will tell you the same about their religion - that it's different, one and only among others, takes things better.

  • Christianity occured with the teachings of the Christ, Jesus specifically at the resurrection. And, don't confuse the spread of what some called Christianity, with real Christianity. The inclussion of faith and the state, was not Christianity, the teachings and following of Jesus is Christianity.

  • In your opinion the right teachings of Christ.

So many people claim they're right the very word 'right' loses its meaning. Some are dangerous some are not.

I do agree with you on faith and state overall, you're completely right. People are proud, and power hungry, it's hard for them to step down from this.

  • Not sure I fully understand your comment regarding "the right teachings of Christ" regarding some of my thoughts on Church and State and all, just google, Mike Furches Church and State or something like that, plenty of things out there.

  • if a super power hungry dictator made it a rule to have anyone who was critical of the government killed, wouldn't you call that evil? or would you justify it by saying: "they chose to critize the government", and say it's equal to getting a speeding ticket?

  • thanks

  • Lord is more like Master but Leader.

  • Normally this is the case, except in the situation of Jesus, there is a concept of submissivness that I think fits better, for example Paul saying he is a bondslave, indicates a willingness to submit. Both are pretty much the same and appreciate the thought though.
