  • "Come on Italian hunters ... how about something a little more challenging" XD ... i love this guy

  • sure it tastes great but it's not true chicken cacciatore without wine as an ingredient

  • This looks delicish, I am so goin to try this dish, thanks foodwishes guy.

  • yap this is a compleate recipe; do any meat like this and you will always end up with a very nurishing/compleate meal for your family. For desert, give a fresh furit...

  • I make hunter chicken, except I do not use tomato sauce, I would use the juices and a bit of chicken stock to make a chicken pan sauce, deglaze with a bit of white wine, delicious. Try it some time that way with a cheddar polenta.

  • top videos

  • Dat ziet er lekker uit Hmmmm.....

  • Thanks for this recipe, it didn't look quite like yours & but it was really good, I'll get it right next time!

  • I love your videos! Where can I purchase a dutch oven? I have an aluminum one, but something is telling me not to use it. lol Thanks!

  • you can look at department stores or the cookware company's website... the one he used in the videos are made by le creuset... kinda like the rolls-royce of dutch ovens, if you ask me... hehe... but you get what you pay for...

  • Isn't it called hunter's chicken because they originally used rabbit in the dish? Not sure, maybe I just made that up lol

  • Gotta try this. I'm a little wary of using sweet peppers in a stew, for some reason I always manage to foul up my gulash at some point to the result of the whole stew getting uncomfortably bitter.

And you might add a forum where your fans can discuss their own recipes also sell the seasonings from your site.

  • I'll substitute some wild pheasant or ruffed grouse in place of the chicken. That'll make it more of a hunter's stew. :-P Great as always Chef John!

  • i cant wait to try this out this weekend. thx chef john. all of your vids are fab!

  • And buy his DVD!!! Great videos, I bought two for Christmas gifts. Cheap and goes to a good cause.

  • Your videos are very cool but what exactly do you do for a living? I dont think you make money doing these videos.

  • Not if you only watch them here I don't. Please support these videos by going to the website to read the articles that go along with the videos!

  • I am not even that fond of the peppers, but almost all your videos make anything look so good to eat! Always enjoying your vids. =P

  • you always make things that I have found to be very difficult to be very easy. I can't wait to make this for my fiancee. thank you!

  • Wow Chef John! I love your video! They are very nice and it teaches me some good recipe!

  • wow i love you john =]!

  • Awesome video as always.

  • Chef John doesn't usually have comments open, as his foodie fans go to his site regularly, and that's where they make their comments. From some of the judgmental comments here, going back, and forth, and having nothing to do with the recipe, it is easy to see why he prefers to close off comments here.

  • Would it matter whether the chicken is boneless or not?

  • awesome thank you !!!

  • When I saw the title, "Chicken Cacciatore" I was very excited. But when I saw your picture, I said, "What is that?" That does not look like the Cacciatore my Mtoher use dto make when I was a kid.

  • I'm not your mother. ;)

  • My Mother did not use the pepers and hers was a lot more reder, so she must have used a lot more sauce. I am looking forward to your style, it is just different.

  • hahaha

  • Hey! any chance you could make a how-to on a Christmas ham? The turkey was awesome!

  • You feel the need to heard because someone thumb downed your comment on a youtube video. How will you react when people realize that you're a whiny little bitch?

  • man i love this guy hes so awesome maybe ill be able to cook soon

  • I kid you not...last night I made roast chicken and potatoes, then just before I went to bed I was thinking that maybe I should have made chicken cacciatore and was wondering if chef john had it up on his site...

  • Looks good , gonna try it tonight .

  • I want to say this every time I watch your videos. I LOVE them, you are amazing! Keep up the great work.

  • Your the best! (no homo) lol

  • WOW!! That looks good! I will have to give it a try.

  • 2nd.

YAY! I love home-style food. I'ma make this sorta thing tonight (minus mushrooms 'cause I don't have any). Served over whole-wheat spaghetti, with lots of fresh parsley in the mix ('cause I have way too much parsley)
