yap this is a compleate recipe; do any meat like this and you will always end up with a very nurishing/compleate meal for your family. For desert, give a fresh furit...
I make hunter chicken, except I do not use tomato sauce, I would use the juices and a bit of chicken stock to make a chicken pan sauce, deglaze with a bit of white wine, delicious. Try it some time that way with a cheddar polenta.
you can look at department stores or the cookware company's website... the one he used in the videos are made by le creuset... kinda like the rolls-royce of dutch ovens, if you ask me... hehe... but you get what you pay for...
I've watched a lot of you recipes chef John, you really are good. You use fresh ingredients, stick to traditional french bases and know your stuff. Well done, very informative. Your a good lad. Coming to you all the way from Manchester, England.
there is simply no one better on the net than chef john. he shows a person how to cook without talking down to them and acting like a know it all. thanks chef.
OMG, everyone.... PLEASE make this dish... It is soooooooo friggin good!... I've never even TASTED this dish before making it, and it came out AMAZING!...
*My gpa has Alzheimer's and doesn't really eat much of anything anymore... He used to eat everything and now he is so picky... You would have sworn that food had never even touched his plate, it was so clean... He loved it!*
Gotta try this. I'm a little wary of using sweet peppers in a stew, for some reason I always manage to foul up my gulash at some point to the result of the whole stew getting uncomfortably bitter.
u make cooking luk so easy n comforting...i wish i have a husband like u who luvs cooking n eating gud food...yummz! thnx for all these luvly vdos chef!
thanks, but i need traffic on my website in order to continue the free videos. PLEASE leave comments there, and read the article. foodwishesDOTcom! thanks!

Chef John doesn't usually have comments open, as his foodie fans go to his site regularly, and that's where they make their comments. From some of the judgmental comments here, going back, and forth, and having nothing to do with the recipe, it is easy to see why he prefers to close off comments here.
When I saw the title, "Chicken Cacciatore" I was very excited. But when I saw your picture, I said, "What is that?" That does not look like the Cacciatore my Mtoher use dto make when I was a kid.
My Mother did not use the pepers and hers was a lot more reder, so she must have used a lot more sauce. I am looking forward to your style, it is just different.
You feel the need to heard because someone thumb downed your comment on a youtube video. How will you react when people realize that you're a whiny little bitch?
I kid you not...last night I made roast chicken and potatoes, then just before I went to bed I was thinking that maybe I should have made chicken cacciatore and was wondering if chef john had it up on his site...
YAY! I love home-style food. I'ma make this sorta thing tonight (minus mushrooms 'cause I don't have any). Served over whole-wheat spaghetti, with lots of fresh parsley in the mix ('cause I have way too much parsley)
OH YES. I am SO making this.

If you need traffic to your site stop giving the portions of the seasoning.
as in;
Put salt, put pepper, butter, ........ go to my site for the measurements.
And you might add a forum where your fans can discuss their own recipes also sell the seasonings from your site.
qwertywxyz 3 years ago
Thats how he gets traffic you idiot.

lol, someone thumbed down my comment. I totally said something valid, and some idiot gave me a bad rating...? I hope they read this.
I got a thumbs-down for saying "that was amusing," jokingly on a hotforwords video where the answer to her homework thing was "to amuse."
some people are stupid. nevertheless, GREAT VIDS, keep 'em coming Chef John!
