I want this Hannan as President of the U.S.A. As this isn't allowed by our Constitution, I will settle for whomever he chooses to designate for the office, while Hannan serves as Britain's Prime Minister and appears regularly on U.S. t.v.
World government, unelected bureaucrats making law -- these are both anti-family. Anti-family historically is connected to totalitarianism & genocide. Time to end the false Left-Right paradigm and focus on opposing control-freak sociopaths and anti-family bureaucrats.
Anti-sociopaths of the world unite! (against controllers of all stripes)
@SecularNumanist ...Nationalism shouldn't have any negative connotations when properly understood. It's the natural affinity and loyalty of extended family (e.g. Israel's 12 sons/tribes) and their self-governance and preservation of ethno-culture. Most anything else is 'imperialist' and predatory globalism.
True Nationalism should be a Peace Movement ,e.g. Ghandi, and the effective, ethical opposition to oppression. Bismark, Mazzini and Garibaldi were Nationalists. Lenin, Hitler,Stalin ...not.
A reference to the Greek roots of the word Democracy would only come from him, at least in that wretched institution. I'm surprised anyone else there can even read the name plates in front of the delegates.
Mmm ... but Hannan`s just made an eloquent argument against the raison d`etre of the Institution that he`s standing in the middle of, i.e. the EU, not just inept pax-Americana places like Kosovo.
@papercutpictures: More integrity per square inch etc, maybe; I don't think he's telling the Eurorcrats anything they don't already know. Democracy in the EU has never been more than a flimsy mask, and their growing power has allowed them to hack away at any semblance of real democracy independent countries ever had.
Great speech!

@ProNorden - Hannan is a big Ron Paul supporter so get behind Ron, a true Libertarian who wants us to return to our true Constitutional roots.

nationalism contains negative connotations. I guess national sovereignty of autonomy would be a better way of wording it.

@ProNorden Well Bizmarck was a fantastic kinda guy either.
And regardless of what you may call hitler, the term nationalism has become too associated with him now. Probably beyond repair

Come on Dan, you know the EU has no interest in democracy. Why even pretend that they can be swayed?

So if only the nationalists from the Balkan would have got what they've wanted everything would be fine down there today... he is right.
He is right because everyone would be dead.
