Watched the video; fear mongering nonsense. Watch the opening credits, to pretend that this is an unbiased analysis of the "facts" is an exercise in fantasy.
Go buy your Prius, I'm perfectly happy with my v8. Get on your soapbox and bask in your self-righteousness. While you're complaining, China just built another half-dozen coal plants and thousands of new cars.
If the apocalypse is coming like they say, its too late now anyways. Stock up on sun tan lotion and move to Canada.
I keep hearing the same story from you. Government agencies are not doing their job because there are not enough people to do the job. Airlines, oil, wall street, food inspectors etc. What this amounts to is the people are NOT willing to pay enough in taxes to cover the cost of the government they want.
We need to cut Defense first. How can you wake up the public?
Its all about Ceo profits , and the executives and shareholders. The large corporations have been screwing us for years , well humans are to busy buying there big cars , smart phones , and sucking down their corn sweetend fast food to notice whats really going on.Thats ok Mother nature knows whats going on and we are in a change like no other.Best advice move to higher ground and a plave where there is cooler weather... :-)
This is such a sad commentary on supposed civilization. It's like mass suicide and murder we are all a party to it. Intelligent and civilized ha!ha!ha!ha! More like parasites that are committing fratricide.
Honestly, frontline is some of the most subjective journalism that is found on TV in the west. Is far better than the propaganda that Fox News, CNN etc spew out on a daily basis. Besides, they flat-out said in this preview that the US was responsible for most of the worlds pollution.
what i don't get is the US complains about pollution and has pollution laws yet buys massive amount of products that are made from these countries that are massively polluting. as if buying the product over there doesn't pollute the earth. pure arrogance. weather the us has laws against pollution domestically it makes up for by supporting polluting and the purchase of cheaply made products. of course that's all people can buy in the us the way people are taxed and stripped of liberty.
The answer to your question is simple economics. Why do Americans buy consumer goods made in developing, high-pollution nations? Because they're dirt cheap.
The rich may have the option of paying a premium for feel good eco-products like the Prius and 100% biodegradable televisions, but the middle and lower classes would rather save the money, get a cheaper product that is higher performance, and still be able to pay their bills at the end of the month.
She said if everybody want to live like a american the earth is doom!!!Why dont american than live like everyone else???ololol...To said something like she said is anti-american or anti-capitaliste right!!!China and India will take care of her wish soon,
Best Quote: "Everthing that has happened WRONG in energy in the US happened because there was a group of voters who put their own needs ahead of our nation"
A FANTASTIC contrast against Obama commercial. First, Frontline shows the lack of vision & leadership american auto companies in dev of NRG eff. cars, then Obama presents the FORD autoworker wondering where his job has gone. He promises to prop up FORD with govt loans, though he already gave FORD subsidies to build unmarketable cars.
This was an excellent, well made, documentary. Just fantastic. Really good job on the part of the crew, staff, and host. Rare to see a documentary so focused and objective. Excellent.
I wonder if anyone knows where one could download it so I can take it with me on my ipod... sure would be cool to catch wind of that info....
Saw this special last night and they did a great job. It was frank and I liked that Martin Smith called out those CEOs with tough questions that required real answers, not PR fluff. The world has to switch to renewable energy whether you believe in climate change or not. We may have already hit peak oil and coal won't last forever. If bottomline profits are the driving force, then companies have to change or move out. Toyota is an example that the market is changing and you can still make money.
Doesn't matter, economy will collapse within the next few years due to peak oil and skyrocketing energy costs. There are no solutions - sorry. Nature will deal with the population crisis.
just watched this documentary and I knew that I was right not to buy a new car from 1 of the big three American automakers. They pushed the big SUV's on Americans and the losers bought them. This documentary supports my theory that its to late now, no matter what we do.This documentary did not even cover population controls(consumers = disaster)India,China and U.S. special intrests will doom us all, so it really don't matter.2015 don't look so human friendly.
frontline should be disappointed in this biased doc. The earth creates more CO2 than all of MAN so what sense does it make to bury our Co2? Ridiculous...doesn't bring up anyone on the other side...biased.
It doesn't mention that the earth emits more CO2 than all of man by huge margins. They don't interview anyone on the other side but merely make them see like an oddity an unexplained phenomenon that they choose to just ignore. This is your typical scare doc made for the masses who know nothing about science or common sense. This is ridiculous. One guy in the doc says if we dont stop now that in 10yrs were all screwed..wow..not too bright
They're supposed to be calling it "CLIMATE CHANGE" not Global Warming. The earth has been cooling for years. That is why Al Gore calls it Climate Change now. He was wrong about the earth warming so he and his crew had to come up with a new name; hence "Climate Change".
Frontline will hurt the global warming movement with this show. All around the world there are longer, harsher winters and slightly cooler summers.
Thank you Frontline for exposing how flawed this movement is!!
The answer is the single most important species on earth, Algae. Yes, pond scum is the most important species on earth, responsible for over 50% of the oxygen in the atmosphere. Algae can be used as fuel, or it can sequester CO2 and be buried. But, growing Algae in outdoor farms then using it as fuel creates a carbon neutral cycle. Algae eats CO2 and creates Oxygen as a waste product and up to 1/2 of the weight of algae is veg oil which can be made into diesel, gas, Kerosene, Jet fuel, plastics
People always imagine politicians can solve the problems. Wrong! It is we who solve the problem. If we don't pressure the politicians, they will always pick the easy choice, which is called political expedience.
We really need to re-invent the way we live...the republican party will have to evolve and begin to use their brains before they can bring ANYTHING to the table, but then again most of the country has to do that too...we cannot just wait for the politicians to tackle this problem and this really needs to happen NOW!!
Responsible regulation is the natural, reasonable control of any system, removing this aspect from nature or human activity lends a free hand to chaos.
