  • 2:39 to 3:44, I have the music for playing on my piano. Its been simplified in the way the music is written and shortened to just an extract of the song because I'm not at the level where I can play such a long none simplified song butI love playing, its so much fun!

  • 5:40 - Ben Van Dijk looks like he's about to fall asleep, haha.

  • Flor is simply a wonderful conductor. He always brings out the best in his musicians.

  • Mooi zeg.

    Thanks for posting.

  • thats not juste trombone and clarinet solo !! The french horn play whit them .

  • That trombone clarinet duo rivals the philly orchestra recording from the early 80's with the late Dodsen playing the solo.

    Marvelous playing here.

  • Yes! Well done! My favorite recording is still the old Columbia recording w/Berstein conducting. He doesn't take the section *quite* this slow, but it's so beautiful, why not!

  • Indeed a very nice performance. Sometimes in the first sections i cannot hear very well if the orchestra really plays together or if it just sounds a little bit separated due to the position of the recording

  • AT LAST!! this lovely Adagio section played at proper Adagio!!...Nice performance..

  • can we find the final movement anywhere? for some reason I cant find a good version of the full final movement, it always seems to be only excerpts

  • Thank you, it's beautiful.

  • Il y a un passage du "Roi d'Ys" d'Édouard Lalo tiré d'une symphonie pour orgues de cet auteur. Savez-vous de quelle symphonie il s'agit?

  • Good sound, it sounds like the Ormandy recording (the gold standard for this piece)

  • Thank you for sharing this. I am very interesseted in the whole performance. can you please post it?

  • Very nice, but invest in a tripod.

  • Tripods are not alllowed in concert halls here, cameras neither.

  • OK. I understand. You did a good job compared to the other SS 3rd available on YouTube. The sound came out fine. Maybe next time, drink less coffee :-).

  • Thank you, now we are talking. I think these live coverages are far more interesting then copying some dull dvd with an even duller recording. Here you see the musicians if casual dress. I did only have coffee after the (lunch) concert...bye

  • did you manage to catch the 4th and final movement because that would be brilliant if you did

  • It was taken during a rehearsal at Rotterdam Doelen.

So it's alive recording, like most of my movies, almost 100 now.

Good idea to put all your old records on Youtube with the very nice covers too!!

I will think about it to imitate you, though my records are not that old yet.

Where do you live in the Netherlands?

  • Excellent recording, I especially love the adagio section, great blend and tuning between the clarinet and trombone!

  • Sounds great.. I really want to see this symphony live someday

  • @44Bigs I had the privilege of playing it (first violin section). It was one of the most emotional concerts in which I've played.

  • indeed a rehearsal, free luncheon concert.

  • im geussing this is a rehearsal? casual dress and not many people in audeicne, haha. if not, then somethings wrong with the people. great playing

  • Wonderful symphony by the composer whom I studied for my thesis, and good sound other than some interference by the recorder, but please use a steadier hand next time!! I feel dizzy now!

  • Yes this is Symphonie No.3. Most people are only familiar with the final movement "Maestoso" which has the "famous organ part".

  • Is it me or is this part missing?

Love this stuff btw, gotta find myself a cd of this :)

  • Yes it is

  • It's broken... :-(
