The Family Computer version looks interesting. I have played US version of this game. I am interested in seeing in how the games are in different game system.
Really the only thing I like about the Famicom version is the animated water in the overworld and the boss explosion sound effect. Everything from the music, to the dungeon colors, game over screen, extra boss (better animated dragon boss) and other sound effects is much better in the NES version.
This game came in the mail yesterday (together with SMB2 (Lost Levels) and Doki Doki Panic, all on FDS), and gotta say that I really enjoy this game more than many recent releases :P
He meant Katakana, as in the second set of Japanese lettering that's used mostly for foreign phrases and words. It's also simplified Japanese, so it's easier to read, write and understand than traditional/Hiragana Japanese.
Im mad they switch the overworld music for the u.s. version. I remember playing this when I was little and every time I would lose all my life I would be scared because the flashing of the screen, I think I would've been more scared if I played the japanese version because the different noise during the flashing of the screen.
I couldn't find the mirror finding scene. I want to read the FDS version's text so I could find out if "I found a mirror under the table" was actually a mistranslation or not.
LOL wtf 3:04 "hey bitch lets get medieval!" "fo' real dawg!" -time paradox [sex]- bitch:"....." pimp link:"what?.. I mean WHAT? im a hylyan wtf do you think my nose has anything to do with my dick size?, fuck you im gonna save zelda, bitch!" God I love japan.
Better yet, Inject the sounds from the Famicom version in the US Rom so you can play the superior graphical version with the superior sounding of the FDS version.
@irregularzero That would be nice, but it wouldn't work because none of the emulators would recognize the FM-Synthesis channel being used on a non FDS rom.
I love the sound effects and music on the Famicom version! But the NES has slightly better graphics, at least in some places (for example, the palaces are more colorful).

The intro music sounds bad compared to the NES intro music.
The regular area music sucks compared to the NES version.
The sound played when running into an enemy sucks bad.
The text sound effect is HORRIBLE.
The spell sound effect is just plain not good.
This version is inferior is most ways compared to the NES version IMHO. bleh

The music is still far better in our version.
And the sounds that appear every time you face a boss...urg terrible...
CitanKainUzuki 3 years ago
@ken131 agreed, I wish someone would inject the English script into the FDS rom. That way I could play the superior sounding FDS game instead.
