@MattyE1987 ooooh I wasn't done with you yet. I have my BSN now by the way. You should never NEVER criticize a profession you know nothing about. Nursing school is tough, people are weeded out like crazy. Nurse's rock....most of them. Just like any profession, there are good and bad. remember, we're the ones assessing you 24/7 docs rely on our expertise for much of patient care.
@MattyE1987 My first degree was and ADN from a "two year" technical college. There is NO WAY you can complete in two years unless you have all the prereqs done and clinicals are almost impossible to take with most classes. I was curious about this myself when I was in the tech program in the late 1990s. I was told that they sqeeze the program into the two year college so that they can offer it, but it takes three full years for the most part, very much like the older diploma programs.
You'd be surprised at the number of ER patients who are just under a sheet instead of wearing a gown. I work as a transportation aide and most trauma patients especially have been stripped to the most bare essentials i.e. nothing or underwear. I get why its appropriate when they first arrive and you need access to everything and need to not worry about the gown or clothes but once all the initial stuff is done they should put a gown on esp when they become a med/surg vs ccu pt.
My niece started nursing school at 16 years old (in Ohio) and graduated at 18 as an RN (after she took her state boards). Somehow I don't feel so confident with a 18 year old as a nurse in ICU where she works.

Nurses think very highly of themselves with their vast education. A RN degree can be obtained in 18 months at most vocational schools by a high school student.
@MattyE1987 I would be interested to find out in exactly which state these programs are offered!! I went to school for 3 years to obtain my ADN, and am currently taking my BSN. I have been a RN for 17 years and have worked in the ER as a RN for the last 13. I am licensed in 7 states, all of which require passing the NCLEX exam and graduating from an approved school of nursing.
@melsbrie ...I'd like to know too. I've been working on my RN for several years now. I could have saved a lot of time! The general public (like Matty Burger-Flipper up there) doesn't know that several pre-req courses are required prior to being accepted to a nursing program, and most don't know that the average GPA to be accepted is a minimum of 3.5 (and typically closer to 3.8 or above). But hey, because Matty says so, I guess any schmuck can get an RN license out of a cracker jack box!
@MattyE1987 I've taken a look at your channel and some of the comments you left on other videos. It seems you have a bit of a bad attitude or an axe to grind.
Looking at the comment you left here, if it only takes 18 months to obtain a RN degree then... why don't you get one instead of being bitter towards those did the work to earn their's

@MattyE1987 For whatever it's worth, I hope those 18th month vocational nurses who are high school students take care of you and your family members, and then you can bitch about nursing on youtube.
@MattyE1987 you have no idea what your talking about - there is no 18 mon th vocational course for RNs in this country and if your speaking of LPNs they are only rarely employed in hospitals most are used in LTC and rehab facilities
would love for you to spout your ignorance when your patient in ICU or CCU lol
Thanks......actually Jimmy would probably make him laugh and fix all that ails him. Then again he does look pretty bad already......was ready to put a toe tag on him.
Thanks for the nice comment, I still think the guy looked pretty bad, feel like I failed him as a nurse, at least he is just a cartoon patient. Hope you have a good day.

@brow1248 So true. I'm thinking he is just a tech and think he knows more than a nurse with a degree

@MattyE1987 I didnt know 18 months of intense training and education at any type of school was something to be taken lightly.......

I only know one nurse that still wears that. Shes in her 40's and I think it makes her look really hot.

I understand the ones who dance on poles and jump out of cakes technically are not RNs. They may be LPNs though.

yup, too many friends hadn't seen it and the one of me coming home, decided that was more important than the reasons for taking them down
