  • we grilled some corn last night with our chicken fajitas. I started off on the grill and after about 10 minutes of turning it every so often, I wrapped it in foil and moved it to the top to finish cooking. Finished off with some Lime-Butter with fresh cracked black pepper. Good stuff

  • @Derek2001 Sounds great!

  • This video lends itself to corny humor. Hopefully people will lend me an ear when I tell corn jokes. Aww shucks..... It gets steamy when the corn is cooking. Do people grill you for your cooking methods? If yopu have guests you can butter them up and it will get salty.

  • great! now I know how to prepare dinner! Except I am going to do in in the oven. :)

  • manzilla86

Your a modern day Hank Hill. You love propane and propane accesories.

  • @IrelandForeverAlways

    Hank Hill was my Daddy!

  • I dont even grill but i love your videos. If there is a american dream, this guy got it.

  • @kefkahkefkah

    Ha ha! Thanks!

  • About how long will this take if I use charcoal? (my family only uses charcoal for some reason)

  • I LOVE YOUR DOG! 1:09

  • @akkadianantttt

Thanks! She is a great little dog.... Ha ha

  • Charcoal sucks people. Fire is fire anyway you start it. If you want to smoke something you need to use charcoal but you would be an idiot to use anything but propane for things that need to be grilled 30 minutes or less.

  • @manzilla86 youd love my dinners. i actually have 5 to 10 people several times a week over for my grillin, i use a smoker but normally use charcoal with bits of flavored wood chips soaked in water. great every time and better than watching tv with my spare time.

  • @manzilla86 what are you a communist ? Cook your food in the oven then moron !

  • OMFG i want your pepper cracker thing!

  • @RawrasaurBologna

Yes! You need one! They are pretty handy in the kitchen.

  • If I don't have time to soak the corn in some water with a bit of sugar I just pull back the stalk, take off the silkbrush it with a little watered down sauce or marinade then fold the husk back up.

When it's done I peel the husk back again but don't remove it. It makes for a nice presentation & handle.

  • @daveh013 Thanks for the suggestion!

  • I open the husk, add butter, salt and pepper, close it back up and we'll see ya. Of course charcoal grill. If I want to bake, I'll use my kitchen oven.

  • Merry Christmas I am using this method now.

    xxxooo Wade Lee

  • I like to cook corn in it's husk. Peel the husk back but don't take it off, de-silk it, wash it, then season it the same way as the vid, and unfold the husk putting it back in place.

  • "Thanks for Tubing in."

    Talk about corny sign-off lines.

    ;)

  • Are ya using raw ore cocked corn?

  • @SmithCityTV It's raw.

  • flagged for cornographic images

  • @kabuto335 Haha! Good one. :)

  • @kabuto335 at least its not child corn

  • I watched this video a few months ago and have run out of aluminum foil since. To anyone reading, try this method, you'll be glad you did.

  • @Mystifier122

Many thanks for the nice comment!

  • @ChefTips OMG Tell me What I Need I Want To Try it 4 my self

  • I am a new subscriber and already loving your videos. I like the last part were you took a bite on the corn lol. Great vids!

  • @mayvelynjose Thanks!

  • Jeff , Very straight ,direct, and to the point on the instructions! If a woman had done it the video would have taken up threal time it takes to cook the corn , she'd have been telling you how to knit cute little pot holders and whart kind of hair spray not to use near and open flame etc.. going all Martha on us!

    :-) Blessings, Warren

  • @wtibbs21

Funny comment Warren! You had my wife and I cracking up!

    Thanks,

    Jason

  • "Thanks for tubing in" ......thats what she said.

  • i like toast

  • I put butter wraped in with the corn like a quarter stick each all around and put it on low on the top for like 40 minutes. U can't mess it up and it's amazing :) 420

  • Nice; love it.

  • i just got back from turkey and they sell loads of it there, even before its cooked its BRIGHT yellow and there so cheap, i ate so much corn on the cob there, they butter and salt it :D nice video btw

  • @rugbylover95

    Thanks for sharing that!

  • i love corn on a cob!

  • Thank you, Gotta go grille is warming up!!!

  • @dirttoysdotcom

    Hope you enjoyed them!

Our friends made twenty of these on the 4th for their buffet. They were a huge hit!

  • i love your salsa recipe, gonna give this one a try.

  • Looks so simple.. As I started mouth watering, I also kept wondering: what happens to the cob in those 10-15 min of grilling? Why? Because in the past two months, I have become acutely aware of the value of corn cobs. I have learned that if you let them dry up, they can be used for all sorts of cleanup jobs. They were used prior to the advent of TP, and a video on my site shows how they could help for oil spill clean up jobs and lower bp oil spill cleanup costs

    Dr Claude Windenberger

  • Damn, looks good

  • @TropicalBeauty1

    Thanks!

  • I prefer using a homemade seasoned butter. I season it with parmesan cheese and any type of garlic. Then, this tastes amazing. And one thing i sometimes do, is after i've cooked the cobs on the grill, i just cut the corn of, and leave the cob. That tastes really good to. We eat this alot in the summer, cause here in norway, you can actually go to a corn farm, and pick them fresh. It's really amazing

  • @AsperityGuild That sounds terrific! I have a video on a kalamata olive butter. Homemade seasoned butter is great on so many things. I'll try your parmesan and garlic butter next time we make corn! Cheers, Jason

  • your corn looked like it had doo doo on it . i will not cook my corn like this .. you suck!

  • @cash22sa

Thanks for your constructive criticism. I really enjoy the anger.

  • Why not just put them in the oven? I'm asuming it's a gas grill?

  • @texascat2

These would cook in the oven.

You get more direct high heat on the grill which gives you the grilled effect on the corn. And besides, if I am grilling for the day, I certainly don't want to put anything in the oven. I put it all on the grill! =]

  • @texascat2 better to use the grill than to make your house hot w/ the oven -- and then have to run the AC more b/c of the oven.

  • 0:29

    take each corn

    best line on youtube

  • @MickeyLWalker

    Lol... Why?

  • @ChefTips

im not sure really, something about Take each corn just makes me laugh

but its all good its a good vid, its not boring, the camera and camera angle is good, i can hear you clearly,

    good video great corn

    :)

  • I made this today! :) It turned out great! The only problem I had was when I tried to cook the steaks in the last 10 min, and from opening and closing the grill the corn was cold. But i just threw it back on the grill for a bit and it was delicious! :) Thanks!

  • its not even yellow

  • @Sn0wFreak

Yes, I used white corn. Corn comes in a few other colors other than yellow.

  • EXACTLY like how I do it and the final result is better then you can get about anywhere. We cook an entire dinner of Meat, veggies and corn all on the grill at the same time. No wasted Charcoal or Propane.

  • your method is great!!! the finished product was delicious thanks for the advice

  • @IMaHARDhabit2break Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the recipe. Cheers, Jason

  • I'm sorry. but this is a terrible method. Wrapping it in foil simply prevents any of the grilled flavor from reaching the corn. You could just put it in a oven and save yourself some propane using this method. Grilling it in the husk is the only way to go.

  • @vio2112

Grilling is high heat hitting the product. This alone produces a flavor all its own on the grilled product.

Seasoning the corn before grilling adds more flavor.

I like grilling with the husk too, but it can make a mess.

  • thanks for the tips!!! i'm grilling at this very moment and your method is fast and easy.... hope the finished product looks and taste as good as yours! :-)

  • @IMaHARDhabit2break

Hope you enjoy it. I also like to do this with a chili-lime butter. It's so good!

    Thanks for commenting.

  • lmao....1:46 ...his voice kinda just ...changed...and I played it back probably 15 times...and then? My corn burnt.

  • @rexaltalent

Ha ha.. Thanks for pointing that out!

    Sorry your corn burnt!

  • @rexaltalent I think its just a poor quality mic job.

  • @jeremyschappert

I think you're right. This was one of our first videos that we using a wireless mic.

I have since read the manual a few times ha ha.... =]

  • @pittfunk

Hello. Medium heat for about 20 minutes should be good. Make sure you turn them so they don't burn.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks for sharing this video. I like to cook corn on the grill, and one of my favorite methods is using a little mayo and chili powder in place of the butter, salt and pepper. When I cook it on the grill, I usually put it directly on the heat for about 10 minutes per side and then move them up to the top rack for an additional 10 minutes. Tastes great!

  • @thomaslh83

Sounds good! Thanks for sharing that!

  • haha I love the dog in the background... nice video! I like the buttering technique. Never thought of that. Good bye butter knife and sliding butter!

  • @lights340xo Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the recipe!

  • THANKS! I'm a stickler for timing and I appreciate knowing now that they will stay warm for 20 to 30 minutes will i lower grill temp to cook my kebabs! I appreciate the step by step video! Thanks Chef!

  • @katield2008 You're welcome!

  • i like to squeeze lime juice on my corn it makes it taste very good

  • @superstitiousenigma

That is good! I also like to make a chili-lime butter for this.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Why use a salt grinder? It's not like salt loses freshness. It has no aromatic properties, it's taste only.

  • it gives a more coarse salt. i prefer a coarse salt, over a table salt.

  • You dont really need that much foil. Save our limited resources.

  • i like it ...but i use olive oil (extra vergine)....Ciao

  • i love this method of cooking corn, it tastes like popcorn

  • i wish i had a salt and pepper robot

  • Allo, Chef Jason,

    Just a quick corn Q:

I don't have a BBQ but love oven roasting so many things. Just wondering what @ heat to set the oven on and for how long should I roast the corns to perfection?

TIA and again, bravo on the channel here, MUCH appreciated,

    : J

  • @juanitagrande

    Hello!

You can do this in the oven. I would roast them at 425 degrees F. for 20 minutes.

  • Thanks so much!!!!!!! MMMM I'D LOVE TO LIVE WITH YOU AND EAT DINNER!!!!!! YUM YUM!!! sadly I am picky, I dont like onions, tomatoes, cabbage, and all the food that makes GOURMET food good!!!! :( even though the food I dont like looks YUMMY!!!! I dont like it unfortunately. I'd eat allllllll your corn though. HAHA :) thanks.

  • Merci beaucoup, next corns I see are hitting the forno!

    : J

  • Hi!!! I am half way through the video, not even and my step grandpa is interested in doing it with the husks on??? Like the Minnesota State Fair does it??? Could you please help? Thanks!!!!!

  • Hello! If you grill with the husks on, soak them in water 30 minutes before grilling. Grill until the corn is done. I would quarter turn them every 5 to 7 minutes.

  • Love this! Was great and easy! But why are your videos so damn loud?

  • Yes. We were having issues with our new microphone set during our first few videos using this set. Sorry about that. You'll notice the same poor audio on our grilling lobster tails video too. :-(

  • nice video, if you soak the corn in the husk for an hour, gently open ear and remove silk, rub with olive oil or butter, salt and your favorite herb, or just plain is good too

  • wheres the beaf ??

  • 1:10

    That dog is awesome!

  • Yes, that's Sugar! She makes an appearance in our Crab Legs video, which will be posted this week. Hope you enjoy it! Jason

  • I'm drilling... honestly....... I love Corn.

  • take each corn

  • ya charcoal all the way. whats with tin foil though. leave it in the husk!

  • Hello. I like grilling the corn in the foil so I can season the corn before cooking. On the 4th I did this with a seasoned butter that I seasoned with chili powder and fresh lime zest. It killed! People were eating seconds!

  • In India we do this all the time. Try roasting it on open flame or on charcoal, then once done rub a lime wedge all over followed by some sea salt and chilli powder. If possible, buy a spice mix called the "chaat" masala from any indian store and rub that. Oooooo, then call me and thank me for my suggestions! enjoy

  • Ha ha! I will call you! =]

Thanks for your suggestion on this. It sounds really good. I will try it soon!

    Jason

  • Hey Jason, I'm Stefan, I'm a huge fan of your videos, Keep working, your videos are great and precise !

I hope to see more of your awesome videos!

  • Thanks! We have a few new videos up now. Hope you enjoy them! Jason

  • u can do it both ways

  • True thats the green way an also more flavor

  • @jasoncl cant season (or clean if your a germaphobe) it when it's still in the husk. Corns way better when you can cook the butter and salt into the kernels.

  • my fav part is :31

  • I just microwave mine.

  • This made me jizz in my pants but anyway that's really cool thanks :D

  • If you are using a gas grill you might as well just stick them in the oven. With charcoal you actually add flavor.

  • I don't like to use my oven in the summer. It heats up the house too much. Sure charcoal adds flavor, but so does seasoning and marinades which work great for a gas grill and/or charcoal grill.

  • gonna make this @ my bbq tmrw! :)

  • Cool. Thanks for sharing. Hope you enjoy the recipe!

  • great vid but wat about charcoal grill

  • Charcoal grills work great too.

  • I think the in husk technique is better... soak overnight in a bown sugar/sea salt brine. The husk is crucial to that sweet corn flavor, it doesn't matter if the husk gets charred, the corn inside will be fine!

  • Great video man! stick it to the cob!

  • Thanks! Hope you like it! Jason

  • Hey, thanks for the video! I've been trying to grill nice corns but they were too soft all the time (tastes as if they're boiled). How do I achieve a really crunchy a bit burnt corn on a grill?

  • Just cook it a bit longer, or toward the end, remove the foil and get a few grill marks on it before serving. Hope you enjoy!

  • Thanks so much for your answer!

  • eather way is awsome. husk on or off try mixing some Tony Chacheres creole seasoning with butter whip it together and spread on the cobs then wrap in foil sure to be your new fav !!!!!

  • That sounds great! Thanks for your tip. Cheers, Jason

  • Great job, looks delicious. You should also check out my grilled recipe. Again, looks great :)

  • Im going to try that out. Looks quick, easy and very tasty!! Thanks for the tip and feel free to bring on more grilling tips:)

  • your a really good video personailty, you should continue to make videos, you have the voice and flow down pat. Good job to you friend!!

  • Thanks for the nice comment.

  • ALL American favorites? wats that supposed to mean?

  • i threw 6 corns in the grille with the leaves and stuff, turned out prettey good...

  • That works good too. I prefer using the foil because you don't have to deal with the mess that the charred husk creates.

  • Hey, uh...."Chef"

Soak the ears in water for 1/2 hour before putting on the grill. No charred husks and all the flavor that's supposed to be there - plus less aluminum in the diet!

    Lesson 101 in Culinary school.

  • Did I ingest the aluminum in the video? And I don't recall grilling corn in culinary school. Must have been sick that day.

Soaking in water will not prevent burning of the husks. I have tried it. The only way you can grill the husk without burning is to cook them on the grill way off to the side away from direct heat. This will double the cooking time.

  • Thanks, I'll try this way next time, I went to the store and they sold out corn...

  • Tried this tonight- excellent, except I would recommend before serving to briefly flame grill the corn after about 15 minutes to give some brownness and really smoky flavor to the corn.

  • Thanks for commenting and offering your tips! Cheers! Jason

  • Huh... these corn are burned on the sides. I usually eat these by let them into ebulition water (you know, 100 degree celcius, evaporation) and it's way more tastier like that...

  • You're the chef around here Phriktion!

  • I did this just yesterday... and everybody LOVED THEM!

  • Cool! Thanks so much for your feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed the recipe! Jason

  • Thanks for the recipe. After done, what sticks did you use to put the corn on; regular wooden skewers?

  • Usually we use the corn skewers that are available in our local supermarket. They attach to each end of the cob.

    Thanks! Jason

  • Another great tip!

  • Thank you!!! Jason

  • In my country we say, " Screw the foils, we're doing this raw!"

translation: diretcly on the grill. Often seasoned with soy sauce(kecap) and chili sauce (sambal) before grilling. It is more burnt, with more black spots. Leading me to call them cancer on the cob.

  • Sounds great! (Except for the cancer part!) Thanks for the great idea! Jason

  • i made some and it had to be the best ever :)

  • So glad you enjoyed it!

  • Right after I saw this video I went to safeway and made some myself! thanks for your video! Corn on the cob ROCKS MY SOCKS!!!WOOT WOOT!

  • LOL! Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for the comment.

    Jason

  • mii dad cooks also and we used your way 2 cook it for mii party thanks for he tip...... the corn was good!!

  • I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your feedback. We really appreciate it!

    Jason

  • Hi chef, I've always wondered if the side you place tin foil matters? Shiny side up or down?? Thanks.

  • Hi vikaleeanessa.

About foil. Some believe that the shiny side, if let on the outside, will reflect some the heat that cooks the food. Wrapping your food touching the shiny side will bring more heat to the food. I never heard of this while working in kitchens. I have also read that it makes no difference in cooking, and that foil naturally has a shiny side and dull side by the way it is produced.

My personal preference is to leave shiny side out. It attracts the eye....

  • you have a puppy:)

  • That looks great! No pepper on mine please.

  • Hold the pepper for Shawn! =]

    Thanks for commenting.

    Jason

  • dam u i clicked on this thinking it was children of bodom

  • Sorry....

    Thanks for commenting though! =]

  • thanks

  • wow. B

  • Thanks!

  • I'll bring the beers

  • Sweet! LOL!

  • Hey what does High temp mean on a Charcoal Grill? I never used a gas grill , my grills heat is controlled wih the vents and not the nobs.

  • Great question. If you want high heat from a charcoal grill use more coals and don't wait too long after the flames die down to start cooking.

When I do corn like this on a charcoal grill I always place them on the outer edge of the grill with the lid on and the vents open. Hope this helps.

  • That sounds good! You can also mix spices/herbs (ie chili powder or chives) into your butter for something different. Thanks for the nice comment.

  • I thought cooking with aluminum foil was bad for you. Because when aluminum foil gets really hot or burned it can give off chemicals that cause all sorts of health problems. Am I right or am I wrong??????

  • That is probably a question that should be brought up elsewhere. I could tell you no and would have 50 people screaming I am wrong. I could tell you yes and have 50 people screaming I am wrong.... :-(

  • Jones Sodas makes a corn on the cob flavored soda pop. I wonder if it would go well with this meal.

  • Jones Sodas is a very good concept. I have never tried paring the soda with food. Maybe you are on to something! :-)

  • LOL I was being light-hearted, but perhaps it's worth a try. :)
