Well, I didn't vote for Bush, so I didn't feel betrayed. It was obvious from the start that he was a sick SOB. I didn't get that feeling from Obama until he launched an attack on Pakistan the day (or was it the day after) he took office.
For all the decent things Obama has done so far, NOT investigating Bush officials for torture and not prosecuting them is like telling the world "We are America we can do whatever we want with no consequences." Where the hell is the UN? They should be forcing the U.S. into investigations. Oh I forgot, the UN is owned by the U.S.
2. Meeting with Hugo Chavez and Ahmendinejad (sp?) to normalize relations
3. Creating a stimulus package that creates jobs, similar to the New Deal, rather than "trickle-down" stimulus that didn't help at all (and may have made things worse).
1. It may not be closed as of this second, but he has already signed an executive order forcing it to be closed.
3. Remains to be seen? How about all those bonuses that those idiot CEOs received thanks to Bush's stimulus? That there tells me that Bush's plan failed. it did NOTHING to stop the freefall of these greedy bastards.
3. It remains to be seen. Unemployment is still rising. The dollar, along with the stock market, is fluctuating.
BTW, WTF does Bush's failure have to do with Obama. Is that the standard we're holding him to? "Well he's not screwing us as bad as Bush, so I like him." I thought Obama represented a change of course, not a slowing of pace while remaining on the same course.
I'm done with the whole process. Democrats and Republicans are full of shit. Progressives protested because Bush did A, B, and C. But now, when Obama does A, B, and C, nobody says anything. Illegal war in Pakistan. Rendition (for the purpose of torture BTW). Illegal wiretapping...
Politics have become sport in America. Nobody cares what the players do as long as their team wins.
All hail O'Bush...I mean Obama!
I spent the Bush years as an ex-pat, no change anticipated.
Well, at least you're consistent anyway. You would be AMAZED at the number of people on here who bash Obama while defending Bush! LOL, Can you imagine the hypocrisy of that?
wow, Mr. Ilove. We all pulled the knives out of our backs when George W. walked out out of the White House. Is yours still in there?

I love the comment about Newt knowing a lot about saying stupid things and being asked to resign.

What exactly "are all the decent things Obama has done so far"? I may be able to pull the knife out of my back if you can name three.

Okay, here we go:
1. Closing Gitmo.
2. Meeting with Hugo Chavez and Ahmendinejad (sp?) to normalize relations
3. Creating a stimulus package that creates jobs, similar to the New Deal, rather than "trickle-down" stimulus that didn't help at all (and may have made things worse).

1. Not yet.
2. You're right.
3. Remains to be seen.

1. Again, time will tell.
3. It remains to be seen. Unemployment is still rising. The dollar, along with the stock market, is fluctuating.

3. That's pretty much the way history stacks up. Obama's popularity is buoyed, simply by the fact that he's not Bush.
It may not be fair, but that's the way the world works!

Well, well. I just happened to see that the congress blocked the funding needed to close GItmo today. Care to retract your number one?

Newt says-
"These men and women who are risking thier lives for thier country"
Most CIA briefing officers who are talking to Congresspeople about interrogation are career Psychology experts/brains/higher-ups, etc.
They don't 'James Fing Bond' away thier CIA position. They are either Desk Sitters or Eggheads,
Either way, they lie for a living, adn they aren't doing field work.
Newt is very much as his namesake implies: Small, slimey, with sticky suction limbs. He divorced his dying wife!
