  • почему так сильно и громко хлопнула мортира? железная труба?

  • ohhhh ist das goldig

  • YYYYYEEEHHHHHHAAA !!!!!!

  • What was that last break at the end? It was like a salute shell. Was that intentional or an error?

  • @ethansvids1 That was the sun shell. In other types of fireworks it would be known as a bottom shot.

  • YEEHAA!!

  • Well... idk how many words there but i have one! AWESOME WORK!!!

    T_U_T_O_R_I_A_L

  • oh oh ohhhhhhhhhh XD

  • yeeehaaah ;*)

  • awesome

  • I know that was loud as he'll but was it like louder than a 12 gauge or what?

  • awesome shell just perfect timing you know any site that ships firework meterials world wide?

  • REACTIONS ARE DA BEST

  • haw haw it looks like WWWWWEEEEEEERRRRRRRYYYYYY NICE !!!!! THANKS DUDE FOR THIS VID >>>RESPECT

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!

  • Is it weird if i came from watching this video?

    AWESOME SHELL

  • Why Didn't You Make It TigerTail While It Was Going Up That Would Have Been Nice?!

  • @dghgrwhy It's tricky to securely attach comets to a canister shell. I was rushing to make this in time for the 4th and it would have taken too much time to do it right.

  • theres nother sweeter than the sound of rednecks laughter in the night

  • Awesome

  • how much black powder did you use for taht lift charge

  • Major boomage.... WOW!!!!! Very nice shell man!!!

  • Have you ever tried making dragon egg stars? those are my favorite :)

  • @japanesepoptart I have not. All in due time. They can be made fairly inexpensively with non toxic bismuth oxides rather than the traditional lead oxides. Though they may be non toxic with bismuth, they are still quite sensitive and can be dangerous to handle. They must be treated with care.

  • @Nighthawkinlight

I have heard of them being made with bismuth oxides, but I've never made them, nor will I probably ever try. I don't really make any "serious" aerial fireworks, so the stars I make are very simple ones. (like ones for roman candles) But, seeing the big giant sparkle in the sky with a big boom on a cool summer's night...ahh there's nothing quite like it. :) I've never heard of bismuth oxides being inexpensive though. I've always associated bismuth with high cost. :/

  • Filipino fireworks are more dangerous the fuse is 0.25 seconds untill it explodes

  • could I do it with ball shells? or are canisters more ideal?

  • are sun and planet shells pretty much just a bunch of small shells inside a larger one?

  • @gothbro111 Exactly that.

  • nice

  • omfg. this thing was probly heard from like 2 miles away

  • hahaha HOLY SHIT!!!

  • OMG THIS IS AWESOME :-)

  • YeeeHaaa ;D

  • it sounded like he waz having sex

  • very nice =)

  • who's the gremlin in the background?

  • lol 4 july u didnt`t do it!! you only can do it at 3112

  • i like the launches better

  • DAMN...MADD GOOD SHIT BRO!! YOU SHOULD SELL THIS FOR LIKE $60 a PIECE

  • @pUNjAbiFlow23 it would cost a lot more than that. its a 5 inch, big and expensive

  • Well done! I could learn a lot from you. Even though it took you quite some time to prepare, the final effects from that launch are memorable for life!

  • daaannngggg you made that? very nice five stars :)

  • ''HOLY SHIT'' :)

  • Yea that shell was F*ckin cool men!!!!

  • WTF!

    WEEHAAA

    NICE MAN NICEEEEE!

  • haahah oooh shit !!

  • that effect sounded like a warzone, well done !! + why was there 2 vids on the launch of this S+P shell? did you make 2

  • Yeah I made two.

  • how do make tigertail???

  • What are those first and last initial blasts?

  • The lift was black powder, the last break was dirty flash surrounded by a few hundred grams of tigertail composition.

  • lol

  • Dear Nighthawkinlight.

I love to start making fireworks to as a hobby.

Do you have any tips where i should start my research?

  • Yes I sure do. APCforum(dot)net is a great place to start reading and asking questions. Skylighter(dot)com also has an archive of all their old newsletters which are packed full of good information.

  • RESPECT!

  • lol crazyy ^^

  • Nice thats something new.

  • theres a lift filled with blackpowder.

  • how can shell fly by her own...do you build in like a rocket engine or something...

  • The shell gets fired out of a long tube with black powder. The black powder creates gases that propel the shell out of the tube like a bullet from a gun.

  • so you meen mortar??

    tnx for replying to me.

  • Ya, the tubes are commonly known as mortars.

    No problamo.

  • "holy shit!"

    halarious

where did u get the chemicals, i have potassium nitrate and sugar, but nothing elsee, and when i do get the stuff how do i make it into THAT GODLY FIREWORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have many videos on my page that will show you the basics of shell building that can eventually be implemented into a shell such as this. For compositions and other info about getting started visit my website which I just left you in a comment on your page.

  • woot super nice!!

  • Thank you

  • the fireball from the lift was incedible

  • Where to get the ingredients?

  • thats why we make fireworks go rock n roll at night

  • That was great!

  • hi erm sweet video could u tell me how to make em and were to get the stuff i need to make it please can u send me a email please thanks

  • if you look underneath the vid it says in a big yellow bar, response to how to build a 5" sun and planets shell. just look on his channel.

  • Thank you ;)

  • Amazing 11/10

  • wtf !!!! this is awesome shell =) . very good jobs

  • dude, ive watched all your videos. and ive always wanted to build fireworks. if i were you, just for shits and giggles, i would build a 5 inch mortar, that was just one, big, boom. doesnt have to be stars or anything. i would just put a lot of powder in it. and if you do, film it haha

  • What stars did you use?

  • Tigertail and purple ammonium perchlorate stars.

  • That was awesome!! i just subscribed, you replied to one of my comments over at display fireworks and that is how i found your channel, great stuff here! i am a long time pyro, trust me... been around.

  • Thank you ;)

  • Thats pretty damn impressive!!! How much lift did you use?

  • About 1/10th of the shell weight if I remember correctly. I like to make sure they get up nice and high.

  • Yeah it did go up pretty high. Is that a common ratio you use for lift?

  • Yes. Most use 1/16 or so of the shells weight, but I prefer more.

  • at first i have to say that i am form germanyxP

like this is can say it the easyest way:D: if the shell has a weight of 50g you use 5g lift?

  • Yes, you are correct.

  • ok thx

  • Man I love the pyrotechnics. I just buy cheap fireworks and go around recording different shows. I love your stuff and I would seriously buy stuff from you. KEEP IT UP - 5/5, Favorite

  • Thanks, I appreciate it!

  • That was loud as hell how long did it take you to make that

  • 2 or 3 hours in build time.

  • Sorry to bug you again :( but I cant find a pipe or mortar tube that was bigger than 3"

What did you use to put your 5" shell in?

  • I used a 5" fiberglass mortar. Try pyrodirect, I believe they have everything up to 16".

  • oohhoohohhohhhhoooohhhh, GREAT!.....

    HOLYSHIT. YEHAAAHHHH

    Nice Reaction:P

  • HOLYSHIT!!!

  • what is the sun ??

  • The explosion at the end.

  • Nice Job 5*

How many grams did you used for the Lift?

  • 150g

  • i love ur friend in the back ground

  • lol lol me too

  • NICE LIFT MAN!!!!!!!!!

    U should construct a 10"

  • this a different shell than the other you got posted night?. i seen the planets but the sun?....... any ways sir EXTREMELY awsome shell loved the radius ,verry big. AS ALWAYS 1000 stars night.. ALOHA

  • Yes this is a second one. The sun is the large explosion at the end.

BTW, I'll get to your message in a day or two. I gotta rest up for an MPAG shoot tomorrow.

  • Ah I just accidentally deleted my entire inbox, if you could resend your message it would be appreciated.

  • nice

  • Yeeehaw!!! nice!!!

  • anyone know any class c shells that are better than excaliburs?

  • fuck that was loud coming out of the tube.

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • NIghthawk what do you use as a binder for stars and powders? sweet shell BW

  • Most often I use liquid laundry starch.

  • what brand?

  • Doesn't matter. Any should work fine. I mix it with a touch of water sometimes. Experiment a bit, it doesn't take much.

  • iM sure that shit was 100 times louder in person

  • that wasnt good for how big it was

  • size doesn't matter;)

  • I'll buy one !!! u should make me one :)

  • great instructional vids as well as the launch I am just beginning to get into shell fireworks and my dad is only letting me start with 1" ball shells i need to know how to set up the lift charge for one please make a vid it would help a lot

  • that was incredible...

  • awesome looked sweet thanks

  • Never mind Nighthawk. I don't need to be precautious about the sound production any more. My Dad has a lot of connections, due to his big job. In our local area, we have a person from Law Enforcement, somebody who used to work in a bomb disposal team for local Quarries, and I personally know the owner of a big paintball field. The decibel limits there are set to 180 Decibels for MK9 Thunderflahses. Nothing to worry about. I'll start small scale and work upwards with experience.

    Thanks :)

  • Wow! The lift charge was the best part!

I just watched the two videos of you making this, I really enjoy this.

  • Very good ;)

  • were did u get the fire work

  • Look at what this is a video response to.

  • he bought his firework at walmart, bryanwexler1 (:

  • wow yo ueer vthink of making some 500 gram fireworks and you should sell those

  • Hey Ive made a mortar shell and tube but in my first attempt the mortar only went a foot in the air then the shell blew up so i am thinking the mortar tube i used was caused for the hight the mortar shell. also would she shape of shell affect the hight (my shell is shaped like a egg).

  • I need measurements. How large was the shell, how tall was the mortar, how tight was the fit, how much lift did you use, and how fast does it burn?

  • the shell was 2 inches in diameter, the hight was 2 inches the fit was really snug, i used 5 grams of lift but the black powder burns really fast. and i did another test with a can shell but 1.d inches in diameter and 3 inches tall i used a 1 foot pvc tube and 10 grams for the lift and the fit was snug but it only went 10 feet this time please tell me what i am doing wrong!!!

  • That sounds very strange. Try confining the lift with a few layers of paper over the cup holing it to the shell. That will allow some pressure to build before it is released into the mortar. Be sure to use 10-15% of the shells weight in lift.

  • Also, could you give me a rough idea of the sound production in Decibels please? I just need to know to warn the neighbours :P. And would you reccomend starting off at this shell size? Or start on something smaller and work up to it?

Sorry for all of the questions :)

    Thanks.

  • I couldn't give a guess at the decibels. My judgment of sound isn't that good, but it's less than window shattering.

You should not start with a shell like this. They are one of the most difficult sort of shells to make. Watch my videos 'how to build a 1.5x3" can shell' parts 1&2. Those are simpler shells to make. They are also more likely to be legal where you live. A shell like this very often needs special permits to fire.

Whatever you do, research. APCforum(dot)net is a good place to start

  • And can I just ask the ratios of Flash:Black powder you used in the stars? Or did you just use the one? And do you reckon putting Potassium or other compound for colour variations is a good idea? Which ones give the best effect? I'm thinking giving this a shot. I have lots of black/flash at home, and I have adult supervision (as I am only 16) as my next door neighbour used to work for part of the British Governements Fireworks Legislation Scheme :).

    Thanks.

  • YEEHAAA!!!

I reckon you were pleased with that ;D.

I have a 300 Watt Amp and four stereo jacked 600 Watt loud speakers. Reckon they could go loud enough for the true audio? I usually hate fireworks... being as annoying as they are, but when you see something like this (Home-made) working well for once in your life, you look back and think "Wow, I think that was a success". I bet it felt great :)

  • I don't know...A 5" shell leaving a mortar pushes a lot of air ;) Nah you probably could simulate it pretty well. As well as possible for being picked up on my terrible camera mic anyhow.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • HOLY SHIT

    great fireworks!

  • Outstanding It Made That 20 Min Video Worth It!

  • 10/4

  • HOOLYYY SHHHIIIIIIIITTT
