I've always played steel strung guitar but have had a hankering after a nice nylon string electro acoustic or an acoustic one I can convert.
However, I don't know anything about Nylon guitars and which makes and models to go for.
There's been so many rubbish nylon guitars made over the years, like almost every household owns one !! That It's a case of sorting the Wheat from the Chaff !!
Can you or anyone give me an idea of which makes and models to look out for please?
@707dude707 ... thanks, dude ... mic, a Rode NT-1A ... I believe. It's not actually written anywhere on the mic and I'm not sure I'm remembering right. Great mic, very affordable. It's sounds a bit furry and distorted in these YT movies, it's better than that.
Jazz sounds great on a Classical Guitar, But, It depends what type of Classical Guitar, His guitar is Similar to my 1969 custom made in Bklyn NYC, Del Pilar, Which I picked out of Six of them made that June.
Mr, Pilar called it not really a Classical Guitar, But, What is called today a Hybrid.
I can't play Jazz of The Ramirez Guitars of that time era.
@ShuvoYoshi ... it's an old big band tune called "I'm getting Sentimental Over You" ... this is my own arrangement and I'm afraid I never tabbed it out.
Great stuff. Boy, I sure wish I could find somebody who knows Harold Arlen's piece, "Out of This World" on guitar. About a million guys do "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," but one is hard-pressed to find one version of "Out of This World" on guitar. Just a suggestion. Thanks for your videos...all of them are very encouraging. They make you want to play.
@planetalk lol wtf did border skt just ask? i mean seriously? c'mon now nylons can handle anything, and they play nicer than any other type of guitar.
Splendid! I heard a guy in a restaurant in Kansas City, he restrung with nylon on an electric acoustic and from my table I could have sworn he was playing a Gibson L5 or L7. Great sound!
As I've seen, it's a Gibson Nylon strings;it sounds well!I've look-at & hear your Bossa Nova lesson, & as I play Bossas, Sambas, Brazilian music since 1984, I've visit your profile page & see this Nylon strings Jazz, and it's coooool! Was the Bossa lesson one of your composition? Good job, man!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
i think the dynamics are lost due to nylon strings.. like the subtle bends, vibratos, slides, hammer-ons etc... dont come through here.
but top notch feeling and playing!
