IF i was to hang glide i think i would want to make my turns high up and come in for a long straight landing approach rather than make turns at low altitude which is where people can often stall
in order to bank a hang glider do you bank the glider to the left by pushing the bar and tilting it left. SO to turn left would you push the bar to the right
@1956ron You dont seem to have anything positive to say Ron, just many negative comments criticising pilots performing exciting manoeuvres. Why dont you upload some videos of yourself flying? Show us all how it is meant to be done
@Brav0ZuluForever there are "flex wings" which are steered by weight shifting and "rigid hang glidiers or rigid wings" which are armed with flaps and you just have to move the control bar into one direction
@acharad i was being sarcastic. of course it would be faster with an engine.. eventhough an engine is a bit heavy, the glider's weight is nihil, since such an engine is made for even heavier gliders or even little planes. most of the time at least :)
i really dont know whats all that fuss about that video, 161kmh groundspeed is not a problem at all when u have so much tail wind. measure your airspeed mate. 161 kmh with a combat, i think its imposible, talking bout airspeed.
no, he learned to swim when he was 5 but he wouldn't hit the water cause he wouldn't want to get his parachute wet. also salt water is quite corrosive on glider parts.
@mister2012harrison-If he survived the impact at that speed, he'd be unconscious at best. Yes he would drown. It's near impossible to get yourself loose from the harness before you are pulled under by the glider. I have personal experience from rescuing someone who hit a pond at half this speed. He was being pulled under water, half conscious and paralyzed, less than two minutes after impact. Do not fly low over water.
@airwolfgunner "do not fly low over water" Then where should yoy fly over low Chad? He didn't impact the water, so why imagine he did? What if he crashed on take off, would he of drowned? He didn't crash on take off and he didn't hit the water so he didn't loose consciousness, need to get loose from harness under water, or get paralised. What would happen if you focused on your flying instead of talking shit chad? Everone would be better off, especially you.
haha i was searching for far cry 2 hang gliding and watched some videos then i found this one and i saw the water and the graphics i was like hell yeah im gonna get this game. then i looked closer then i saw it was not a gamexD but a dude hang gliding lol haha

Is it available to achieve this speed with an engine ?
acharad 1 year ago
@acharad no for sure not.. LOL are you serious?

Hmm. Is it because as the engine weigh a lot or Deltaplan's drag coeffient ?

Yes but isn't he all rigged in with the harness? And how does he know that he will be able to get lift again after going so low?
jacksonofalltrades 1 year ago
@jacksonofalltrades at that speed he can just pull up as the speed will create all the lift he needs.

@mister2012harrison I'd say no, but the impact at that speed would kill you anyway! awesome shit man!

Nice landing, though it might be worth to check your airspeed indicator - you are doing max 100kph here, bro, not 161 !
the fastest I've ever seen a Combat go was Oleg taking it to 142kph - and he still only came second that day ;-)
mrlitespeed 3 years ago
gps shows ground speed not air speed he has a 50 kph tail wind. and he hooks in at 105kg on a 12 m combat.
