  • @Oyotunji I am in this video with the rest of my group. We deeply appreciate it. :)

  • i LOVE <3 This Song But Does Anyone Know the name of the song?

  • nice song choice. whats the name of the song?

  • This is the song my dance group used too

  • Which country/tribe is this from? Thanks!

  • @HumanRemodeling WE ARE IGBO! :D

  • what'z the name of the song???? plez

  • i love it....

  • what is the name of this song?

  • I like this dance and song than the first one.The girls dance well. I think we Igbos should realise the importance of this kind of get together for the Igbo society in diasporas and at home. Our people use to have this as means of showcasing so many thing and grooming the youths to Igbo values. It also brings about our much needed unity among the youths. We can as well find our wives and husbands from the lot.

  • what song is this??

  • Good that you girls did an Igbo dance, but its not authentic. \There is a way that Igbos/Africans move that is not the same as an African American for example would move. No offense to anyone. Many of the "Igbo" dance videos I have seen on Utube show that the Igbo way of moving is being lost by diasporan Igbos. Its good that you look to your roots though girls.

  • @justmusicmusic

It is call acculturation. it's a natural evolution. When the various ethnic Africans were brought to this country they had to adapt to thier new world and blend in with the other Africans - Black Americans are their children. I think there are enough Igbos in Nigeria to keep your traditions authentic.

  • @justmusicmusic , it appears to me that, you are an African American. Won`t there be very interesting for you to learn your past. European in USa maintains their cultures and tradition so why can`t African maintain theirs there too.? You better spend your precious time watching the posting you like best than wasting your time here

  • @otuuakaa Lol........I'm a an Igbo girl born and raised in the UK. If you go to Nigeria and watch them dance or watch the vids on the net from Nigeria...........you will see that they move differently. I watch Igbo and other Nigerian dance vids all the time. I thought this one would be good, but only after watching it did I see it was not as authentic as I thought it would be. Don't be offended, but that's my opinion.

  • @justmusicmusic

Thanks for your reply to my comment. I am equally an igbo like you and are also living in Europe. The issue here is not how authentic their dancing are as compared to what you can see in Nigeria, the main point here is maintaining the culture. Again, you must note that the main characteristics of igbos are amongst other things to adopt, adapt etc things to their fit . I am quite sure the dancing looks more Anambra than imo, Abia and Ebonyi states dancing

  • @otuuakaa For me, it is important that when something is described as Igbo is authentically Igbo.

  • @justmusicmusic

Good day to you . Yes it is an igbo dancing from Anambra State. Both the dialect and the beating is that of Anambra state. For my state ,Ebonyi, it would have been another dancing rhythms and movements, so we have no uniformity dancing and movements in igboland and and that is where you are getting confused. If you watch Anioma dancing (Delta state) , you will see other rhythms and movements. How old are you my dear.?.

  • @otuuakaa .....lol, I know there are different dances from different places within Igboland, as well as from village to village. I am talking about the WAY Igbos/Africans move when dancing. It is distinct. and authentically Igbo. Btw, I am old enough and exposed to Igbo culture/dance enough to know what I am talking about.

  • @justmusicmusic

Please forget about automatic reply below. It was not me who wrote them but I have certainly click wrongly somehere therefore. It was not meant to offend as regard to how old you are. I am single there I asked

  • @otuuakaa Please accept my apologies for my last reply then. I now realise misunderstood your question about my age.

  • @justmusicmusic

That`s ok , No problem. I just want you to realize that I am not using English daily but north European languages. English is an occasional language for me. My pc keyboard is also another thing, so, some words can be shorter or even disappear entirely and therefore misunderstanding can arise underway

  • @otuuakaa Listen to this vid again, but this time with the volume on mute.

  • THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS :)

  • shutup uko045, it was our dance originally that the other group copied!so know your info!

  • I think they could have done alot better but i guess. I see they were talking about another group with the same dance but still messed up themselves...before you talk about other ppl make sure u got ur dance right. Sad.

  • ok first of all to all you negative ppl commenting on our group, you need to stop talking all your b.s, this was our 1st yr, together as a group and in the competition we were beginners, and yes we know that we had some mistakes & didnt really do well`but at least we tried and we want to embrace the culture so yall should applaud us for trying

  • I'm from the U.K and it's shameful that the youths here do not want to embrace the igbo culture like they do in the U.S shame on us!! I wish they could bring this over here!!

  • Please don't generalize. There are just a subset of the youth in the U.S. Everyone has their own problem. What you should do is encourage your own children and relations in the UK. The families and communities of these youths are very involved so naturally the children inherit their culture. Charity begins at home.

  • this is so similar to many camerounian dances i grew up with: africans relly have alot in common.. espeially the west atlantic coast from Angola up to senegal...

    Relly Great

  • Why they turned this igbo traditional music to Gospel music, plz, don't distroy our culture, try to put some Ahagba aka afu ajofia, onye tinye isi okioya nsi. Ajofia nono ogbo.
