Anyone...anyone at all by chance daze out while watching - staring directly in the middle of the screen and see "something" or rather a "someone" in the mesh screen and water...? I've walked away - came back - watched another video - refreshed my peepers - reloaded the video - SAME THING! Does ANYONE SEE IT TOO?

    FUCK THUNDER.

It was so damn loud I think my window is broken.

  • Continued from my last comment: Our neighbors who didn't see the lightning were walking back and forth on the balcony to see what exploded!

  • One of these hit back in April or early May of this year. We were sitting on the couch watching "Sum of All Fears" (of all the movies that could have been on). I was kinda leaning over with my head on my boyfriends chest and my eyes flickered up for a second and saw a bright white flash, I knew it was gonna be loud, and then two seconds later it sounded like a nuke went off. At work the next day people from 3 cities away said they all heard it like it was in their back yards too! Thunderbombs.

  • THAT SOUND LIKE A GUN SHOT

  • God I love the sound of thunder!!

  • I have listened to a good amount of loud thunder videos, and i feel this one is the loudest or at least would be the most scary to witness in person. This thunder is not rolling thunder; there is no small crackle before the large boom. The sound more closely resembles a bomb going off

  • That sounded like it hit something.

  • That sound like a bomb lol

  • This would be a fun thing to happen when you're in the middle of some really great, rough, sex.

  • lightning is extremely loud when theres no delay between the thunder and lightning. otherwise known as a thunderclap.

  • holy shit, i had my volume all the way up, that fuckin scarred me lol

  • oh my gooodness, its amazing BOOM. positive unloading. WOW..heavy strike 5*Star

  • Wow, that made me jump!

  • Oh dear - therapist in order me thinks!

  • Damn i have my laptop hooked to my 5.1 Surround Sound system in my Room. it Shocked my Whole Room. my walls are shaking and my Dog jumped out of her sleep and ran out of my room. haha

  • man that shit scared the shit out of me i had my bose tune way up omg sound like i was there!

  • omg that scared me

  • That is a positive bolt if I ever I've heard one...the reason for the insane thunder, is that typically a positive bolt is anything from 3 to 10 times the power of an ordinary one - they start far higher in the postively charged cloud tops and manage to reach the ground - hence the bomb like thunder. Typical lightning bolt can be 5K - 30K Amps (current), postive bolts however 30K - 100K Amps!! That is some power!!

  • @bluebolt86 stfu!!!!!

  • @th3sup3rr0ck3r - living a troubled life it would seem! Seek help

  • @bluebolt86 hmm interesting! but (correct me if I'm wrong) can the direction of lightning affect the thunderclap as well? I mean, if there is a vertical lighting strike the thunder is like a bomb, and when it's horizontal it's more like a long roll of thunder...

  • @Maereandil - Yeah I've often wondered that! Generally vertical (CG) lightning will cause the loudest thunder as it will be a lot closer to you (sometimes only a few hundred metres) where as horizontal (IC) lightning will be some distance up in the cloud. The closer the lightning, the more explosive, crackly it is, where as the further you are the more rolling rumbling it sounds.

  • awesome

  • BIG BOOOOOOOOOOOM.

  • I give this four stars cuz the lightning was a little weak but all in all that was the biggest thunder I have ever heard in my life!!!

Thanks for catching this on camera!!!

  • to measure the distance between that lightning and your house let's count the flash timing and the sound ... at nearly 7.900 sec ( 0:07 ) the lightning started ... then in nearly 9.700 ( 0:09 ) the thunder sounded ...

    9.700

    7.900 -

    -----------

1.800 sec between them .... if the speed of sound is 340 meters per second ... then let's count it like that :

    1.800

    0.340 X

    ------------

612 meters ..... that lightning was 612 meters nearly away from your house XD

  • lol what an awesome comment !!!

  • thanks ^O^

  • @aliultimate009 aaaah, yeah, can you measure the force of the shit that left the pants of the person that filmed this. Just wondering about the force, and timing in between the lightning and thunder, therefore his or her asscheeks forcing and flapping out a shit with the force of 1000 horsepower. Maybe you can explain this to us as well. thanks

  • @OneBigmutha1109 i remember a time, where when poeple KNEW things, they were considered to be smart and intelligent! NOW its, "if you know something youre a geek or nerd!" sorry, but ALIULTIMATEs comment was highly informative! but well i guess we are all part of an ecosystem that could NOT exist without morons spewing senseless shit, compensating for their absolute LACK of knowledge of anything.

  • @JuanEnrique24 Right on.

  • @OneBigmutha1109 eh ... i don't know what to say @_@

  • @OneBigmutha1109 measuring droppings ? LMAO !!!

anyway it was an understandable way on telling on how scary it was XD

  • @aliultimate009 Now thats one hell of an epic comment right there. Jus da facts!

  • @6V92TA thanks ^^

i'm glad to be useful for everyone here ^^

  • @aliultimate009 Well that certainly was useful ^.^

  • @6V92TA Glad to hear it thanks ^^

  • @aliultimate009 WOW KNOW AT ALL.

  • @aliultimate009 no1 cares?

  • @aliultimate009 or you can say 0.5 seconds is equal to 0.4 miles for us americans, lol

  • shit that fuckin made me jump whoa that was big fuckin hell

  • holy shit BOOOOM and had my headphones on shit... :D

  • fucking shit! incredible sound! ;E

  • holy fucking muther of god that was a big boom it made me fucking jump, but yeah speakers up? uh umm NO

  • KAABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

  • Even the latest software can't do such a booooom !!!

  • When i whatched the video first time,i almost pee my pants(i've used earphones).

  • AHHH ITS LIKE A LITTLE HEROSHIMA BOMB!

  • 0:10 woooow, ( I had my speakers loud, so I give you one guess to how I feel after that BOOOM!! ) haha nice :)

  • In SA this is much louder and rubles longer as well. one time it rumbled so long I wanted to take out my stop watch to start timing it.

  • There is no way that was thunder. Something blew up from the strike.

  • wow :| how many decibel !?

  • Wow!! That sounded like an explosion!!

  • That was just Billy Batson yelling

    SHAZAM LOL

  • WOW storms scare me I would have pooped myself!!

  • The Exact Same Thing Happened Here In Paragould, Arkansas. It Scared Me And My Friend. We Thought A Bomb Blew Up. The Lightning Struck 10 Feet From Us And Thats Why It Was So Damn Loud.

  • sounds exactly like the one we had last night it was like next to my house

  • Comment removed

  • oh damn!

  • Damn nice boom! I really should remember to turn my subwoofer down a notch or two before clicking these links :D.

  • haha lol, yeah, i allways fuck my neighbours a bit like that.

  • Umm... just WOW lol

Havent heard any thunder that loud in years.

Very rarely do we get any thunder in scotland.

  • I had that boom once at the same time of a lightning strike.

  • holy crap one time, i was standing up in the living room and one time outside, it boomed so loud i dropped to the floor

  • very nice sound

  • Wow! That was a freakin' loud boom! I wish we had this kind of thunder in the netherlands.

  • wooohooo wow baby!!!!!

  • I hate loud thunder like this, I've heard it before. Not so fun.

  • That was a nice video! I would not want that strike right next to me.

  • I've never heard a thunderclap so powerful before - it really sounded like a nearby explosion! Thanks for posting this. 5/5 and favorited.

Often times, positive lightning discharges give off a great deal more energy than the negative counterparts. I would think that the positive lightning may possess higher temperatures overall and so superheat the surrounding air to a greater extent, If nearby, the sound could be really frightening and deafening, as in this video.

    ~Trav.~

  • we had a bolt out of the blue a couple of nights ago it only did that and there was no more thunder or lightening

  • my friend.. it think you really don't know what to get thunderbombs in thunderstorms here.. or during hurricanes!

  • My brother was listening,we agreed it really just sounded like a big explosion, but nice one catchin it,i am goin to sub, then record my next storm, hopefully we'll get a strike and ill put it up for you n others to watch(Its gonna be public).

  • This was surely a postive bolt since I had a couple of them myself tonight. All I can say is that they r some loud mofo's, specially the ones that make all the neighborhood car alarms go bezerk.

  • what a boom

  • aie my ears lol

  • From the orange/reddish coloring that lits up the sky, I'm more tempted to stay that the lightning blew a transformer up and it was really close.

  • In the first moment before i realised that was thunderstorm i thought it was an gas-explosion! Our whole house vibrated. In the end it was a horrible but also a cool experience...

  • Last year such a positive one happend at night not far away of our house. while I was asleep - The Shock was so big that I thougt my heart will stop... It was horrible!

  • i know exactly what you mean. i was once asleep in my bed.... a bright light woke me up, i opened my eyes and then "boom". that "heart stopping" feeling you speak of..... i know exactly what you mean. almost painfull

  • the positive ones scare the shit out of me when there not expected!

  • How do you know, that a lightning is positive?

I'm just curious, b'coz many here write summfin 'bout "positive-ones"...

  • positive giants are the best!!!!

  • this has happened to me too my ears were ringing and it blew 2 lights in my house from the viberation lol

  • i for sure believe that, happens many times with these types of strikes. Most people think thunder is harmless and it generally is BUT it can do a few things like that.

  • i heard only like 2 times a boom like that.. but yeah that was freaking loud..

  • That Loud sonic Boom From That Lightning,,DDDAAAAAnnnngg!!!!!

  • lol, i remember a time recently that my town had a thunderstorm, the lightning hit east of my house, it hit a pole, it sounded just like this one!!!!

  • OMG MY EARSS

  • holy shit that was loud

  • wooooow :P

  • Krakotoa again.

  • damn that was a nice bang

  • holy shit that scared me and my sounds it on normal like not loud or anything and I seriously got startled there wow thats crazy lightning

  • almost like a super sonic booms love those the best caws they realy loud and will get your atention and will wake you up in a deep sleeep BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!1 ;]

  • and leave you paralyzed in your bed with your heart pounding like a double bass at 220bpm

  • 0.8 wen seee lightingg a little pink color then boom

  • Judging by the LOUD, "cannon shot" type of thunder this lightning strike was a "Positive Cloud to ground strike". The reason why the thunder sounded so loud and "pounding like" was because of its EXTREMELY HIGH ampere's. Positive strike can contain 1 billion volts. They are very bright and have thick bolts and can strike up to 10 miles away from the storm. These strikes are also the most dangerous, you simply cannot survive one of these strikes if you got hit by one.

  • I have noticed they are rare. I have only seen them a few times in the northeast U.S.

  • yes they are rare, they only make up about 5% of all the strikes in a storm. Its also called "Bolt From The Blue". This comes from it being able to strike 10 miles away which is the reason why you should wait 30 minutes after the storm passes to go back outside in an open area.

AND thunder from these bolts are so loud they've been known to pop nails out of wood, break windows, and some people have had temporary hearing loss because they were extremely close.

  • KAAABOOOOOM!!!!
