A similar thing happened to my mother as well. My sister did this to my own mother and told her she had mold inside of her home. Took her out of her own home ; other sisters robbed her of all of her possessions and then they all divided her belongings without her realizing it. She had dementia. I tried to help her but I live in a different state and did not have the funds to prevent legally what my siblings were doing to her. Sadly my situation is the same as yours and the laws are screwed

In my father's case in New Jersey, misconduct of the guardian has repeatedly been reported to the Judge Walter Koprowski. The Judge has refused to take action. He even quoted the Wolosoff case which requires a plenary hearing but the Judge refused to hold a hearing. The Judge has shown his bias in favoring attorneys and treating pro se's in a discriminatory manner.

this is what almost happened to my grandmother.my uncle had my grandmother sign over power of attorney.then he stole her check books emptied her bank account and tried to take her house.my mother was able to move her to GA and get her help.after all the court was done with all she was able to get was part of the sale of her house but her savings was taken tho.my mother was even threatened that if she didnt mind her business something would happen to her.she did mind her business.

There are plenty of facilities to report abuse of a child by the elderly or any one else for that matter, in EVERY state, and if you're an adult who is being victimized by an elderly person, then simply have them removed from your home or get out of theirs! There is no excuse for a mentally stable and abled body adult to be victimized by an elderly person, unless that person makes the decision to endure the abuse. For a child, it's different. Most elderly are defenseless.

What about families who are abused by their elderly members? An alcoholic grandmother who threatens her family members is abuse too. She did nothing but play the victim and acted like she was innocent. I've had to deal with abusive elderly people and yet there is nothing for the family members who are abused by them either. The PA State Elder supervisors insisted that my parents needed watching. The woman they sent in stole money and would sleep during her shift, it was part of a welfare program. They charged $2,000 a month for this. My daughter moved into help and two representatives came to check on the situation. She answered the door in an oversized tee and baggy clothes, when asked if she was the assigned worker she replied "If I'm the kind of person you send you and I are going to have issues."
