yea . my laptop has a sd memory card slot so i just used that. but i guess yea if you dont have an sd card slot on your computer you can use a card reader

its safe. you put the program on you sd card and it you can turn it on or off whenvever you want.

have you tryed the CHDK hack thing to unlock/ over ride some settings

yea it is worth the $300. i highly recomend this camera for people who want something more then the odinary point and shoot camera but dont want to buy a SLR or DSLR camera
