I come a cross this kit a lot.. I have to say that it's going to take about a dozen jars of testers water base pain, and primer in order to air brush all those panels. Wow!
From starving monkeys, to discovering the first tool, the first weapon then jumping a million years in time from bone falling in the air to nuclear bomb satellite falling around earth in orbit -pure genius!
I've seen 100+ and still get something new every time I see it.
I'ts only a couple years ago I learned those were all nukes in orbit. I had thought the analogy was from bone tool to high tech comm satellites. Learning they were nukes, that the Earth was on a hair trigger between the US and Russia was a huge revelation to me. So while it was a new day, it was the same old shit from a million years previously.

And? Good, bad, indifferent, need another viewing?
Needless to say, it is very 1950's. Apart from that though?

@ModelManTom I loved it.

F.P. and 2001, I try to watch each a few times every year. In fact, I think it's time to check the krell out again right now...

@ModelManTom I saw 2001 last night, it was cool, I liked it, but a bit confusing with the dawn of man scene.

@ModelManTom oh, now it makes sense, it's bassically a highlight of what we've overcome during those million years.

Every time you watch this film again, you are going to find Kubrick crammed huge symbolism into every shot. It's a huge movie. Epic even.
Between this and FP, welcome to the world of classic sci-fi! ;)

I remember when these were in the hobby shop. $125 Australian.
As for the Polar Lights Enterprise, it never came to Australia. "Pitty that one would have been cool to build"

Don't know Forbidden Planet? It is the classic of classics. A must watch for the sci-fi fan. Like 2001: ASO, I try to get FP in a few times a year.
The ship is silver. The planet's sky is green.

Heheh. I figured uploading them backwards might screw a few of the first viewers up.
