This style of slap playing has been done several times before. Now everybody(who has ability) is doing it. Its a novelty still but I prefer more traditional interpretation because this gets boring just like shredding.

I totally agree -it is a novel style of playing but basically every tune sounds like protracted noodling without melody. If you listen to this guy and then to pinofluvius on youtube you realise very quickly who has real talent in conveying the heart and soul of music. One listen to his version of "Whiter Shade of Pale" is all it takes. This rubbish is impressive to those who are easily impressed like the shredding freaks. I even get tired of Tommy Emmanuel's speed crazy playing. Melody wins out.

Normally I would disagree with you because I can't stand people ripping on passion or talent, no matter what it is, but this is truly an uninspired and chaotic piece.

I am not denying that this takes SERIOUS skill to learn, but the piece is so disconnected and unoriginal. It sounds like a bad mix of Andy McKee (albeit nowhere near as good) and Yngwie Malmsteen (also not as good)...

It would be much better if it stuck to one style.
