"THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS NOT IN ANY SENSE FOUNDED ON THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION." (Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11: Written during the Administration of George Washington and signed into law by John Adams.)
In 1777-78 America fought hard against THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND's Spaghetti Monster at Valley Forge. General George Washington did not bow down to King James Book as the word of God during the time of the INQUISTION, which was incorrectly depicted by a Christian Artist named Arnold Friberg.
Thomas "Tom" Paine from (1737 to 1809) was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, his book was notorious for The Age of Reason that advocates deism and promotes for the reason of free thinking and argues against institutionalized religion and Christian doctrines. Lets not forget about the 300 year Flat Earth Inquisition when millions of people were dyeing for our Religious Freedoms on a 100,000 Burning Crosses.
@LizzyMell Yeah, they had the choice... or did they? If anyone really had the choice to not say this nowadays (for a so-called developed country) patheticly nationalist sentence, I guess there would be many non-nationalists and non-chauvinists (and no, chauvinism has NOTHING to do with men and women) that wouldn't. But then again, the US seem to be filled till under the roof with nationalists, many of the chauvinists and religious fanatics, so... might as well turn out the same.
@r2d23678 Don't get me wrong, as a historian, I find it interesting how history is repeating itself... sadly, there isn't another extreme nationalist country anywhere near you that could start a third world war for you, although you've been trying to provoke one for the past 60 years. On the other hand... I thought no one would even try to use the "they're trying to attack us" argument after Hitler but you still did for the Iraq invasion...
Did you really think you could intimidate me? Loser...
@r2d23678 Actually in China the government does its utmost to stop the growth of nationalist movements and other patriotic expressions because it sees such activity as a threat to the rule of the CCP. North Korea on the other hand, well it's not really nationalism as it is allegiance to the leader. The leader is more important than the nation. But yeah, all nations have degrees of nationalism, the US is just very tacky I guess to most countries. As anything it seems like you overdo it.
@SteinbrecherBack first off dumb ass here In AMERICA were not force to do anything!!!!!!!!! and 2nd If you dont want to say the pledge you dont have 2!
This is just as abusive as forcing religion upon children. What they(the abusers) do not understand is that by saying the PoA they are actually giving up their allegiance to God.
Beautiful!!!
