to me downloads are crap they ruin the graphics and make your computer frezze my brother is an expert at computers last time I downloaded somthing like this our computer kept crashing and kept getting virusis and that was only one download plus downloads keep our mind and life obbesed with computers it keeps us imprisonded and makes us crazy thanks to computers it has kept people in hospitals one man died from going on the computer take my advice DON'T DOWNLOAD!

@xxgmcaxx get body shop and put anything you download into the downloads if you don't have a downloads folder make one oh and if this didn't help you there's tons of tutorials on it and if you want to ever check to see if your custom content worked that's what body shop is for if it's in body shop then that means it's in your game :]

@ceceangel4561 It only affects your computer if you download TOO much custom content...and I suggest thesims2(dot)com/exchange because they tell you how many bytes they are. (P.S. All of the stuff at that website are all approved and safe...therefore no viruses.) I hope I helped you. :) Also, if your worried about your computer being ruined then download the sims that are (at the most) 12 bytes or under. :)

I have a really weird question... do any of you know how I can get the resurrection a tron thing to bring my sims parents back to life... do you have to go to college and study something special to be able to get it? You can use a cheat (aspirationpoints (number)) So you can get the disired aspiration points you need to unlock it or use the unlockcareerrewards if it's a career item :) Hope that helped.

I have a ton of custom content on Sims 2 and my computer works fine.

The only time my game crashed is because I downloaded something that I didn't have the correct expansion pack for. But I fixed it and I'm using custom content again and everything works great.

My sims 3 game crashed though, but that's a different story.

@TediBearMassacre meshes are what make the objects and stuff appear in the game. Some of the stuff has meshes included, but usually if you're looking at a recolor (the color of the object), it tells you where to get the mesh.

Like let's say you wanted to get hair, you download the mesh and a recolor.

Some objects don't need meshes either. Downloading stuff is easy. I was confused at first but I caught on quickly.

SOME stuff I download show but others dont.

I can download lots and some furniture and sometimes clothes.

But moslty for the hair it would give me a hair that is already there.

Its hard to explain and it pisses me off.

I use more time trying to download stuff then actually playing it.

The mesh stuff is for the clothings/hair to work, Some are included in files you download, and Some, you have to download the color of the hair, then you download the "Mesh".. You know what to do, extract it right?

Well, I can say it again, The "mesh" it probably broken in the file... Answer these questions ok?

i am so freaking DONE with sims. i have been tryingfor YEARs to download clothes, and all that crap like hair make up etc. i can download furniture FINE! but not clothes. i am just so freaking dome with this! i wasted my whole day trying EVERY POSSABLE way to download clothes. and now its way to difficult to make them, so im just giving up. if someone wants to try to help me one on one, than i will be SO happy and thankfull, but right now i have no more hope/patience with this! =( help me please

Dude, I have wasted ONE entire week, downloading, attempting, deleting, and downloading another way before I figured out you were suppose to put it in a specific folder.

It's not wasted of course, I now have over 3 GB of custom content on my computer. And I (imo) make extremely beautiful content Sims, I make my friends jealous ;)

So the moral of the story is, when you fail - try try again. And post on some forums (modthesims) and ask the professionals why yours isn't working.
