I am pretty sure you have sold this but just in case you ended up buying another generator you should use Stabil. It's a fuel additive that keeps fuel fresh for up to 2 years, It will prevent the gumming up of the fuel thus prevent the carb problem as shown in this video.

I bought one of these generators on the cheap to replace my old 'motorhome' gennie. Absolutely superb piece of kit, far better than than gennie it replaced, which cost three times the price!!
