this is crazy - i've known Joseph Horovitz my entire life - i knew the guy was a genius but this is the first time i've ever heard anything he's written - that's mad! it's amazing!! It's very him too. Thanks for sharing! God I love youtube :D
Hey "punyperson47", you only say that because you haven't heard my band play yet. Check out our new video "In Lieu Of Bessie" if you really want to hear a sweet tone on trumpet.
Just like the trumpet and the cornet are the same.! All three are pitched in Bb as standard, the only "kind" of trumpet where you'd need a couple of alternate fingerings, is on the C, when you play (upper) E & Eb in the staff.!
Hope this was usable.! And keep it up with the trumpet.! :)
This really well done! I really enjoyed it, but what else can you expect from Northwestern?! I thought that this was only written for one trumpet? Well great job!
What is the pianist's name? Don't you feel this is important as your performance would only be 50% without the piano?!!!!!!The pianist is not a "mere accompanist".
This is very nicely done, however, i find it really interesting, i wonder if these are dedicated flugel players because it sounds like a trumpet sound. It must takes years to distinguish between your own trumpet and flugel sound as so many professional players have to do
What a beautiful sound the two instruments make together - played so sensitively too. I play both trumpet and flugelhorn and appreciate the skills you show in producing such a lovely, balanced duet.
First I have to say that the playing sounds wonderful. It's such a pleasure to hear something lyric rather than high, fast and loud. To my ears, the better musician is someone who can make a simple melody sound beautiful. And...at the risk of sounding nit-picky...I would like to have heard a bit slower tempo as well. It may allow them to be even more expressive. I can't take anything away from this performance though. Being there in person would have been quite a treat.
Congratulations from spain (Granada). Where can i buy this score music???
Thanks to answer me.

Duh. Look at the comment before mine genius. I wasn't commenting on the video. That was a response to his comment.

not a sonata?...concerto would be with an orchestra...i'd like to hear it with that someday. The condensed version sounds really simple though.

Why so fast?
Isn't the metronome marking crotchet = 40 or something (which is probably TOO slow)?
Very nice playing - just a bit fast for me.
