Hey I know this kind of a stupid question but what is better Linux Ubuntu or Mac OSX? because I'm currently using Ubuntu 10.4 LTS It's fast true good true but it's missing a multitasking process does that make MAC better than Linux cause of this?
well, for performance and daily use i prefer Ubuntu. I have a MacBook and i use it for photoshop, web graphic and other small things....it depend on what you do with PC.
for me the best OS in performance is Linux. User experience, and facility to use are better on MAC OS X
@nicky9599 not if you get it from a reputable source like cnet downloads or SUn/Oracle's site. the nice thing about a virtual machine is that if you screw up the os running inside it, your actual computer is safe.
@lagoonaman Yes 3D Max will work very well in VirtualBox, and VirtualBox can now run the Max OS with out hacking it... as of VirtualBox 3.2 WooHooo !!!
Check out my video on 3D soft in Linux Ubuntu ...I think you'll be amazed at what will work... message me if you need help...
ok thanks... i have already installed windows 7 64 because of certain softwares that i need to work with... can i install linux normally? or do i have to format and install windows from the vmware aplication?
@lagoonaman Well Linux Ubuntu comes with a WUBI so you can intall it inside Window like a normal program, and when you restart your computer you'll see the option to boot from Linux or Windows... that is the best way to install Linux, and as I said I use VirtualBox NOT vmWare...
When the guest Mac OS X is completely booted up run the disk utility to scan the hard drive image for errors. It should load faster even as a guest on VM Ware. It looks like the disk image could have a minor bit map error that when corrected could allow you to boot Mac OS X much faster.

Now all you need is PC-BSD and your set...
I however like VirtualBox better for Linux, but it's to hard to set up Mac OS in VirtualBox , but I have seen it done.
